  1. I put in a different link that goes directly to the download page (thanks for that, Miffy) so you can circumvent that account creation crap.

I would definitely recommend that everyone at least try the single player up to the point of the tutorial to get familiar with the swinging mechanics (and appreciate the terrible story and not very good singleplayer). There is definitely a bit of a learning curve to the mechanics.

    Pro-tip: E = heavy punch (Y), F = light punch ( B)

I also highly recommend playing Mouse & Keyboard, even if the button dialogs are all console.

  2. Quoting this from the OP, in case anyone missed it.

Since the master server has long since shut down, we'll need to use a tunneling service to simulate LAN play. For our purposes, we will use LogMeIn Hamachi. It's free and you don't even have to create an account (edit: wait, is that still the case? Can someone verify?). Once everything is installed select Network > Join Existing Network:

Network ID: IdleThumbs OR IdleThumbs2 OR IdleThumbs3

    password: video games

If the first one is full, then join the next one and it should work. If you need help or test to see if it works, you can add this guy and he'll help you out.

I don't remember needing an account, but then Toblix confused me in that he had to create an account before he was able to download it...

  3. Well, I thought about that, SAM, but I'm not sure that we have a sizeable enough multiplaying community to sustain 2 sessions of this? In my experience, either not a lot of people actually show up or it kind of peters out after the first one. That's why I picked the Monday, because on that day we at least have a regular group of folks showing up.

Either way, I suggest sticking to our guns for the coming Monday session, considering it's kind of short time to start moving that one around.

  4. It would fit into the Monday night GTA4 slot (8PM UTC), but I realize that is a time that's kind of anti-US and pro-EU. If anyone has any ideas on that? I wouldn't mind switching the Monday to a Sunday, but it's always gonna be the case that a whichever day it is, it's gonna be bad for someone. We just gotta pick one or the other and stick with it, I think. So what do you all think? Monday or Sunday?

Great idea, Lu! Can I swap you ONE (1) STEAMGIFTABLE COPY OF BIONIC COMMANDO for ONE (1) STEAMGIFTABLE COPY OF BURNOUT PARADISE ?

That way you will have an extra copy of Burnout Paradise for the freebie pool if (when) we do a Burnout night.

    Sounds good, Justin!

  5. It's an idea I've been playing around with for a while and since the cancellation of Monday Night GTA Thumbs, now is as good a time as any to try it out. Here's the pitch:

We suggest any kind of PC multiplayer game that would be interesting/fun/hilarious/dumb/crap. We then dedicate a Monday game night to playing that game for a few hours, while enjoying the chatter of exquisite Thumbs.

We'll be playing a new game on a biweekly basis and since it's not viable for everyone to keep buying new games for a Monday night of play, it's best if these games are either free or HELLA CHEAP.

Add a game to the RANDOMIZER list!

Please check if your game is not already on the list before adding something new

    The next randomizer will be:

    Bionic Commando

Alright, tomorrow we're going to revisit Bionic Commando. Just as a heads up, you will need Hamachi as we'll be playing on a simulated LAN, since the master server is no longer around. As always, we meet on our Mumble channel!

In hamachi you need to go to 'Network > Join existing network' and connect to the following:

    (Case and space sensitive:)

    Idle Ham 1

    Idle Ham 2

    Idle Ham 3

Password for all 3 of these: games

If you cannot join 1, then it's full, so join 2 and so on. Let me know if you have any problems.

The video games we play are secondary to Monday game nights. Hanging out with people from the forums, getting to chat with each other and have a good time while playing a video game is what these evenings are all about. Let's play some random games that we'd otherwise never ever play! We meet on Mumble at 8PM UTC. Monday the 8th of December we play the game!

    Past randomizers:

    RANDOMIZER #1: Bionic Commando

    RANDOMIZER #2: Plain Sight

    RANDOMIZER #3: Monday Night Combat

    RANDOMIZER #4: The Ship

    RANDOMIZER #5: Soldat

    RANDOMIZER #6: Build and Shoot

    (RE)RANDOMIZER #7: Bionic Commando

  6. I've just realised, I'm long sighted, I shouldn't have a problem looking at a screen 2 inches from my eye balls!

Wait, long sightedness means you can see things fine in the distance, right? If that's the case you'll be a-ok without glasses. Probably! It has to do with the fact that, when wearing the rift, your eyes focus at infinity.

  7. Yea, I really enjoyed myself; it was fun! Nice to meet all of you (and Rodi again).

    WizardBeacon.jpg

Rodi, our wizard beacon. Like a bat signal for fellow Thumbs.

    Gentlemen.jpg

Enjoying a beverage in a cozy place! The food was scrumptious! (Depicted from left to right: Rodi, elmuerte (he looks completely like his avatar!! I was so happy!), hedgefield. The amazing photographer: me)

And it would have been nice if I_smell hadn't completely forgotten. Shame you weren't there!

I have the best luck when it comes to trains. All kinds of work being done on the tracks meant that a 45 minute ride turned into a 3 hour trip and I only just got home.

  8. This week has been so goddamn shitty. Utterly rage inducing bullshit. What's WRONG with these people? FUCK. I so hope that both Quinn and Fish are alright and get all the support they need.

  9. A bunch of new stuff came out of Star Citizen's gamescom event. The 2945 RSI Constellation commercial:

An upcoming update that adds racing:

And the hangars are getting updated, aside from the visual update, they'll no longer be referred to as discount, business and deluxe, but will have

associated with it. I'm not sure, but that might also be the update where people get to decide the layout of their hangars and rooms themselves? Finally a really short
    .

Everything continues to look really good and I need a new PC in order to play all this, because the current Arena Commander runs at about 20 frames per second.

    ALL HAIL THE GLORIOUS FUTURE.

The glorious future sure was a pain in the ass to set up. Had it break on multiple points with it refusing to install the Positional Tracking cam drivers being the worst of it. Then, later it suddenly worked for some obscure reason after hours of tooling around with it. And then, at some point looking at the demo scene; a simple desk with a few items on it, I nearly fell out of my chair as I tried to lean on a desk that wasn't there. It was great!

  11. And yet all of the above is wrong, since the actual date of the meeting is

    Zaterdag 23 augustus

Tis done! The Rubicon's been crossed! Anyone stil inclined to come is welcome on that date. And leave it to old Lu and I to think of where to go. Suggestions obv welcome. You'll hear from us!

I don't know what you're talking about. It said that all along. That's what I get for copy pasting.
