  1. Battlefield: Bad Company 2

That's probably one of my favourite things about it. The enemies planted a bomb on one of the points. Where the rest of the team seemed to be slacking off playing deathmatch, my squad blasted through the walls of one 2nd floor house, to the one next to it. Caught the bastards completely by surprise. Aaah, fun times.
  2. Mass Effect 2

Hahaha, poor Jacob. HE JUST WANTED HIS FATHERS LOVE. So in the end, of your entire crew, who lived and who died?
  3. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

So the sentences "Please give me milk of your warmth, darling" and "Please fill me with milk full to overflowing", do they-- Actually, you know what? Never mind.
  4. Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Man, some attackers apparently don't know the definition of attacking. 6 snipers on a ridge is not attacking. Standing in your base, shooting to the other side of the map with a tank is not attacking. On the plus side, I joined a good squad and we racked up some serious points. We should play sometime, Patters. I thought that this time around that DICE cleaned up their tech a bit. It seemed that way from the trailers and such, but it still looks messy. Plus, every time I play a Battlefield game, I am reminded of why I eventually stopped playing Battlefield. Walking for some time before getting butt-raped by something you can't even see. Getting killed by the same douchebag spawn-camping tank like 10 times in a row. I prefer infantry only nowadays, I think.
  5. Mass Effect 2

I meant literally, yes. You just... Lie there.
  6. Left 4 Thumbs 2

We had enough people to run another game, which we did. Didn't go all that smoothly. Ysbreker eventually got disconnected and Captain Lunch and his roommate sometimes had a ping of 1000+ because of some other individual using up the bandwidth... Still, I enjoyed myself at least. Then again, our team won...
  7. Mass Effect 2

Is that so? I hadn't noticed, but that is just stupid. I'm sure someone will patch them out, at some point. I hope! For every shop in the Citadel. Haha, lobotomy42, that'd be great. It kind of reminds me Eddie Izzards bit on the .Agree with Miffy as well. Every time you see the bits of cover, you know there is going to be a firefight there at some point. They really stick out at you too. By the way, I think I'm not the only one that finds Jack's character absolutely horrid? All whiny bullshit. I tried to talk to her again and she was like "You need to break up with whoever you're with, before we continue talking". What the fuck. I just want to talk; I don't even like you. It's weird that after your "romance" it all just ends. It's like the people at Bioware went "Well, you got to fuck him/her, so what more do you want?" Anyone else find the intercom in your room? You can call your chosen man/lady up to your personal quarters. You can sit and lie down together. It's very... Weird and awkward. One funny thing I discovered:
  8. Mass Effect 2

    . Spoilers ahead.
  9. Life

Whatever it is, I hope it works out for the best. Big, possibly life changing decisions are a bit scary. O_O
  10. I'd be up for the new Aliens vs. Predator if that ends up being decent.
  11. Mass Effect 2

Commander Shepard, and his harem of girls who want him, returns! I finished it earlier today and I had a great time. The controls confused me at first (shift/space switched around), but I think that overall the changes were an improvement. I also liked the minimalist HUD, although I would've preferred it if they didn't hide all my weapons in the slidy rollout thing; it looks nice, but it makes switching weapons on the fly a bit more of a chore than it should be. Glad they did away with the inventory. As much as I liked getting stronger weapons RPG style, inventory management felt like such a chore. If in ME3 they use the ME2 system combined with the possibility to give your weapons additional mods, then I'd be really happy. The Paragon/Renegade system; I still don't like it. Seemed like a normal/neutral thing to say, but no, I get frickin' Renegade points. Apparently gullibility is very Paragon. I always feel overly compelled to do the Paragon thing in ME. It seems limiting to me. In Dragon Age, you got all these choices without the fear of becoming more evil. Your team might disapprove, but you are who you are. I like that better. It allows me to play a character more true to what I would do. Ysbreker: - Did you play as a male of female Shepard? Male - What class did you choose to play? Soldier. I really liked what they did with the weapons; their uses more clearly defined. Where, in ME1, I used to Assault Rifles almost exclusively; I found myself using the pistol, assault rifle and sniper rifle almost equally. The reload/ammo dynamic also pushed you to diversify the weapons you had to use. - Did you import a save from ME1? Used my male paragon save with Wrex alive, Ashley (racist!!) dead and the Council saved. Concerning Kaidan: - Are you a renegade or paragon? Paragon all the way, though I got a few Renegade points for bullshit reasons. - Who did you romance in ME1, and who in ME2? In the first game it was Liarra and in the second game it was One of my favourite things about ME2: I absolutely LOVED the fact that sometimes Shepard was actually physically interacting with other characters. They need to push that concept much further and improve on it in ME3, in my opinion. tl;dr
  12. Bargains

If you mean barf out of awesomeness, then yes, it makes me barf as well.
  13. Left 4 Thumbs 2

I would like to point out that Patters is a traitor to the zombie killing effort. The vile, dastardly villain abandoned us when we needed him most and should be met with the staunch disapproval of the entire Thumbs community.
  14. Bargains

The line has been drawn. Sides have been chosen... And that 'other' side is way better than that other one. We can clearly see who is superior here.
  15. The Wire

Ooooh yes, the Wire. You will not regret it. Absolutely phenomenal show.
  16. Bargains

Drat. It just had to be made more confusing than necessary.
  17. Bargains

Psychonauts on Steam for 2 bucks!
  18. Left 4 Thumbs 2

It appears that enough people complained about the auto-spawns during finales that Valve is actually removing them. That's good!
  19. goty.cx 2009?

I also agree with Castorp and brkl. The Outcast soundtrack is probably one of my favourite game soundtracks of all time and totally made the game for me, among other things.
  20. Fucking PC gaming!

Luckily no such problems for me, just the mouse cursor thing. I have an i7 and a GTX260 in this PC. It only seems to happen when I use a tablet in conjunction with Photoshop.
  21. Fucking PC gaming!

Oh man, Pungspark, running Windows 7? Whenever I'm working with certain programs, after a while it seems to switch to the Aero Extra Large cursor scheme. When I check the mouse pointer settings, it says it's still on the default normal setting. Such a silly bug.
  22. Left 4 Thumbs 2

I know what you mean, man. Sometimes I feel like a versus and a campaign on busy days as well.
  23. The Witcher

That's odd. It used to run with everything near its highest setting on my old setup, with 3500+ AMD and GF6800. Have you tried turning of the depth of field thing it does? It completely crippled the framerate for me. Running an i7 now too, but I haven't tried to play the game on this setup. You're probably right when you say that it's not a very efficient engine, though. I remember a time, before the patches, where it took took 45 seconds to 1 minute to load a transition from going indoor to outside, for me.
