Sounds like a pants-on-fire lie that this is not some way to prevent used sales. Sounds like them testing the waters for new schemes. It's utterly ridiculous and I can't think of a single reason why it WOULDN'T let you start a new save game. It's still fucking stupid. So yea, I agree with syntheticgerbil and Jon here. You know, their explanation in that article doesn't exactly help to explain why it is the way it is AT ALL.

I was wicked into Star Wars in my teen years, so I got a LOT of action figures/vehicles... Now all in boxes, though. Now I just have 1 long shelf with all those big game boxes that I bought over the years. Nerdiest thing in my room, but hey.

I stopped playing for months at the Water Temple! I just couldn't figure it out. This was only just around the time that we got internet, so I didn't have FAQs or anything like that. Eventually, I did download a walkthrough and was able to figure it out. Tricky dungeon that one! But it's interesting that you should say that, Rodi. Because replaying certain games of 'yon past, I do a lot better now that I'm older. Experience and familiarity with concepts go a long way, I think. Though there are certain games, like Tactical Ops where I had mastery at a young age and just couldn't get back to that level of play now, nor do I have the patience for it.

I played it on DOS, but that's not where it was released on originally. You played some sort of transformer type thing, where you could go from mecha mode into like jet mode. It had nothing to do with Macross or something like that.
