I'd like to try it too, but the epic music™ and the guy yelling 10 times how real it is are a gigantic turn off. What an obnoxious commercial thing. I have mixed feelings too.

In about 10 hours time, the game crashed 3 times. Kind of annoying, but managable. The thing where you input a command but there is like a second delay, that happened to me too many times. Hope the patch fixes that.

Man, totally thought I had discovered something potentially exciting there.

I might have accidentally killed the bridge guarding Red Dragon. tl;dr: I killed a giant red dragon with 1 arrow.

I saw that video, immediately went for the dragon's tail, then missed all my hits and got burned to death. Yaaaay!

Well that was interesting! I was playing some RAGE on friday, stopped playing, did some browsing and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere my PC starts acting funny. Long story short, my main HDD drive completely broke. I ordered a new drive the same day, which I got on saturday, so that was nice. Only just had the time to replace it though. Went to a funeral on saturday, nobody I was particularly close to or anything. The person was already cremated some time ago, so the ashes were put in an urn. It was depressing in that I don't like seeing other people sad, but after the urn placement, everyone seemed kind of relieved that it was done and the mood was much improved with an almost jovial mood. There was drinking and there was good food, so it turned into an alright day. Went to some friends in the late evening. Watched the Two Towers on Bluray! Still a fun movie.

I finished this yesterday and it sure is a game. A very gamey game. I'm almost afraid to say it, but it was all a bit forgettable for me. In general, I enjoyed it, but in the end it was all starting to wear on me. I was glad when it ended. What I really missed in this game, especially in the HUB sections, was a sense of a bigger picture. It's all a bit too quiet, a bit too empty. I never felt like I was in this world and always that my actions and my actions alone kept the cogs in the machine going. The world doesn't spin until I start walking, basically. It made me feel very disconnected from it all. I did like the effort they put into the skill system. Every time I got a Praxis, I spent a good amount of time trying to decide what I should spend it on. Through most of the game, there were always multiple choices that all felt meaningful. Not too much to become overwhelming and not few enough to become shallow. Very nice. Anyway, there were bunch more things, but I already wrote a wall of text and most of the points were negative, so NEVERMIND. P.S. Felt like a badass everytime I jumped off something high with the Icarus Landing System augment. So cool!

A find the thing where you have to unlock attachments on a per weapon basis majorly annoying. So when you're playing US and you finally unlock your ACOG scope or whatever, you switch sides and you gotta unlock it all over again for the RU side. Fuck that shit, really.

The beta is running about as smoothly as something that's not running smoothly at all. I got this weird issue where 80% of the time, mouse movement and world movement is choppy and jittery as hell. Makes it kind of hard to play. That is true and I have noticed that I keep getting out shot by people who have x4 scopes on their guns, although that is like the first thing you unlock for a weapon. Anyway, I have no faith in DICE whatsoever that they'll fix this game before launch. Add me, man! Let's get this party started!

I'd concur with you, but if you're playing, do you actually pay any attention to that stuff? I get it though. All that stupid XP and unlocking shit. It can add something to the experience, but sometimes game designers just make me feel like a monkey hitting the button for food, you know? Not sure yet how bad it is in this game; I need to play more.

I got it to work. Needed to rename the install path from Bèta Battlefield 3" to "Beta Battlefield 3" and then also change the same thing in the registry. I'll wait a few weeks until after launch before I get it, because DICE.

No pacifist achievement for me then...

The game doesn't actually run for me. It crashes on start up. Ah well.

Basically it checks 2 or more SteamID's for games they have in common. It's still being worked on. In a bit you'll be able to filter by game type (singleplayer, multiplayer or MMO) and genre too.

At your age, you're supposed to be shit at those kinds of things. It's how you learn.
