I've been powering my way through it and I don't want any spoilers so I've not read anything in this thread yet. Just a hint of something I only just discovered . The game might've mentioned it, but I tend to click past tutorial stuff as fast as I can. Anyhoo, if you find yourself low on health, I've noticed that you can sit down and after a few seconds your health starts to regenerate. It was new to me anyway.

The 3D models in Twin Snakes bothered me, though. Something exceptionally weird about Snake's shapes. That and the cut-scenes do get a bit much from time to time. Snake don't just do no side-to-side to get past a doorway undetected, he leaps over it. Over the entire door frame. 8T3JuIDCMy8 Luckily the sound of his jumping and landing was masked by the jet that flew by at that moment.

I loooove the series. It's a wonderful introduction to that universe too.

Kind of annoyed at Uncharted 3. There is a lot of glitchy stuff that keeps pulling me out of the game. Just had a hard lockup too. Other thing was that I walked into a side-room and enemies just started spawning out of nowhere in front of me. Even though I was previously in stealth. Also see the AI be fucking stupid a lot of times, where they throw grenades while they're standing in front of an object and throw it into said object, or just seeing AI running into walls. When it works it's great, but there has been too many little and not so little glitchy shit going on for me to enjoy it as much as have Uncharted 2.

I still have Plain Sight to give away. What's the matter, none of you want a game you'll play exactly once and then decide that it's alright but nothing that you want to keep playing? Cool idea Erkki!

I had a most excellent fun time, thank you very much. Did a lot of different things, had some good adventures. I'll tell you all about how we made MrDean give a dollar to a stripper and how he got a free private dance thanks to his awkward nature and foreign accent. I also went shooting, to an american football match, karting and Halloween parades. Also went to the Bodies exhibit, with all the real dead people and the muscles and stuff. Was quite fascinating.

That is absolutely awesome. Really cool stuff.

Don't think there was a thread for this yet. So yes, this manshoot looks pretty good. Might be a good thumbs multiplayer game. Oh and EA is pulling their recent titles offa steam and can now only be gotten on their own digital download network Origin. Great. I guess that was kind of inevitable.

That one Dragon Age: Origins CG trailer is an excellent example of this. Most characters in that trailer look completely different from their eventual video game counterparts.

I also read in an interview with a Blur studio guy that work on these trailers begins when a game is in really early development. He said it takes them almost as long to make 1 trailer as it takes the whole Video game it's for. I'm sure creation time varies on complexity and length too, but damn, that's still a lot of work for a few minutes. I can appreciate live action commercials as a stand alone thing (if they're good). I really liked the live action Halo trailers, but I have a really hard time to connect a live action trailer to the actual game. If I see a good live action trailer, I think "That'd make a cool movie" and not "I'd like to play that game".

Don't you mean normal maps/parallax mapping or do they really use displacement maps in BF3? edit: A quick google later and I learned that parallax maps are also called virtual displacement maps. QUESTION ANSWERED. (I'm assuming now that that is what you meant... Did you?)

Really? I thought it was a joke at first. My respect for Blizzard's creative abilities has gone down significantly over the past years... I hope that new IP of theirs is gonna be something special a least. Anyhoo, The Old Republic looks like WoW with a Star Wars skin to me (also, cutscenes!). The more I've seen of it, the less interested I became. I would try it, because Star Wars, but at 15 bucks a month, that isn't going to happen.
