So I borrowed it from a friend (which is probably illegal) and I finished it a few hours ago. I haven't quite made up my mind yet, but it was more interesting than I thought it was gonna be. So, ending spoilers ahead, and possibly slight incoherence due to tiredness. So if they are going to change the ending via DLC, then isn't that Bioware admitting that they did mess up the ending, that they didn't get to make the ending they wanted to make? If this is how it was supposed to end, then honestly, stick to your guns and fuck the fans.

The Arma 2 + Operation AH thread of 'let's try this again'
Lu replied to Lu 's topic in Multiplayer Networking
The best part was when you yelled "Freeze!" on mumble before you killed Ben in cold blood immediately after. We did an interpretive dance to honor his sacrifice and then preserved nature and got shot and killed. All in all, it was a blast, though it slightly dragged in the end when half of us were dead. I'll get some better missions for next time and hopefully next time there will be significantly less tech problems and more actual game playing. If you folks are up for a next time, at least. -

Cool. Will maybe see you then. Everyone please note the last minute change in Mumble address, in case any of you had already added that specific IP thingy I had put down previously. -

Yes, yes and it's on the idle thumbs Steam group event thing; we'd be starting around 8 your time. And yes, they're allowed. Check the first post for server and Mumble details. The Mumble server will only be up on the day itself though. Our backup plan will be Skype. -
They removed the flowers! They did less than nothing!

Say, would anyone of you happen to know when and why British people stopped identifying themselves by their tribes and these peoples simply became "Brits"? 'Tis a rather random question, but on the off-chance that someone knows about these things or knows someone who knows these things. It'd be really helpful!

Cool, I'd like to try it, if you still have one?

But how do you keep a balloon in 1 spot without using a tether? I know one thing though, it'll give a whole new meaning to SERVER DOWN. HAAAH-- I'll let myself out.

See that you do; don't disappoint the .In other news, I have a most excellent buddy who agreed to letting us use his Mumble server on sunday. Adress: fergcraft.dyndns.org Port: 64738 I'll put this info in the OP too. All in all, we're all set for a realistic manshoot! -
Welcome, Mr. New Person! This is definitely the place to talk to other Thumbs! (CROSS THREAD REFERENCE, BAM!)

For some reason I got two 50% off AssCreed Revelations coupons with no explanation given? If anyone wants them, they're valid till April 1st.

Seems like a most excellent fit! Congratulations to the crew of both casts.

Double postalicious!! Okay, so now we actually have a server and it's up and running! Details up top, yo. I'm still working on getting missions on there, so only standard game mode stuff so far. -

Alright, so we don't have a server. Basically nothing works, their entire site is half-broken and I've asked for mah moneys back. I paid with paypal, so if I don't get a response back, I'll just dispute the payment and be done with it. So as an FYI, never ever go with UKGame.com, they're terrible... -
BBC news reports: "Bizarre coincidence as 98% of gamers born on January 1st"

I'm reasonably sure it doesn't. Maybe you're talking about how it temporarily remembers via a cookie? Steam Mobile allows you to enter your age in the settings and uses that for everything.
-
And Steam Mobile remembers your age... Why can't normal Steam?? Such a stupid waste of time, every time. I'm guessing they're not allowed to make it a "Yes, I'm old enough"-button? About as effective, but less of a pain in the ass...

So I ordered a server thing. I don't think any of it is operational yet. I put the Mumble thing up top in the first post, but that ain't working yet either. I'll put server details up there as well, once I have them. I went with a 12 slot server for 1 month. I figured that'd be enough for now and for the lot of us to figure out if this is a game we would like to play more often. Oh yes, so we're gonna be using voice chat. If you don't have a mic or are super shy, that's alright, you don't have to speak. For practical reasons though, do at least connect so you can at least hear fellow Thumbs. Communication is rather important in ArmA2. -
Haha, I actually paused it during one of those moments to make some lunch. By the time I got back and resumed play, I thought the stream had bugged and I lost audio on it. Not the case. brb unpacking some complexities

Just listening to it as well. That moment where the interviewer goes "So you lied about it" and the bit that follows... The most UNCOMFORTABLE pauses ever. It's also not that odd that he stands by his story, given that this is a lie he has been perpetuating for a looong time. In my experience there is a whole bunch of self-deception going on with liars, that even if you give them an out, in a way they've started to believe the lie themselves. Not really, of course, but a delusion strong enough that they maintain that they're right. They're just building on a rotten foundation and when that foundation starts shaking, everything built on top of it will just come crumbling down. Eventually! That guy is gonna have a rough time ahead of him!

What kind of douche bag thinks it's a good idea to base bonuses on that? I'm going to go ahead and say a corporate douche bag.
