  1. Looking to move out west

    Fuck, that's a whole house.
  2. New people: Read this, say hi.

Fascinating and tragic, indeed. I love how the man was like all under-dog like, but then he was actually really talented at building stuff. Never really appreciated while he was obviously the impetus of the entire operation. Plus, he makes a mean cup of coffee. Welcome!
  3. 's About 10-15 for me. It's the bundles. I normally don't buy stuff I don't intend to play. I do almost wish I could expunge certain games from my Steam list, because they're such turds. Oh buyers remorse.
  4. Chris Roberts' new space combat sim

Weird, man. I thought that this link was somewhere in this thread at some point: http://starcitizen.r...industries.com/ Moments after I made my first post in this thread, I had a horrible sense of deja vu. Is there another thread about this topic or something?
  5. XCOM Enemy Unknown

Or download a pirate copy. Yarr! (I'd feel morally justified since I already gave them my money) I'll just pout and make an angry face at publishers and retail until it comes out.
  6. Dishonored - or - GIFs By Breckon

I won't get to play beyond the 1st-and-a-half mission for a while, but is my impression correct that the characters and story stuff is probably the weakest part of the game?
  7. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! Adorable.
  8. Chris Roberts' new space combat sim

Motherfucking pledged. I had a similarly huge grin on my face watching the trailer. New space sims always look so damn impressive. They're like visions of the future of fidelity in video games. In 2 years from now, the next gen consoles will be out; it'll be interesting to see how our perception of that visual fidelity will have changed once again.
  9. XCOM Enemy Unknown

My frustration levels of seeing my American friends play X-Com while I'm having to wait and just look at "Pre-load complete; unreleased" is very high. It's kind of a "Yea, we know" thing, but goddammit, I will repeat my grievances with this utter stupidity until it changes. RAAGHRG! Will it someday change if we all complain loudly enough?
  10. Having only gotten the book in the mail like a week ago, I'm still working through it. At my desk, with dictionary.com open, because the first few pages have contained a lot of words I had never heard of before.
  11. Worms Revolution

Yea, seriously, they really need to cut those parts out. Is it better or worse than the amount of waiting in an online game of Worms Reloaded? Did your turn, now wait 10 seconds while we do some sort of network thingy! Did a player crash/lag out? Look at it forever. You'd think that after the 20 million Worms games they made, they'd have figured that shit out. They just keep making 'em, and they're always super flawed in one way or another. Oh and 30 goto 10.
  12. The amount of references I saw in the trailer made my head spin. So many things I recognized! Which reminds me: FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK TMNT 1 for NES.
  13. Life

Congratulations! What kind of job did you get? Is it a thing that I breathe a sigh of relief at the thought of never having to live with my parents ever again? Don't get me wrong, I love them, but.
  14. Ugly pretty textures

Let us take this moment to remember 2005-2007, the Bloom years. I noticed a character in Dishonored had a scar on her nose, but I didn't actually see this clearly until I used my facemasks 2x optical zoom. Which reminds me. If he takes his mask off when he's home... THEN WHAT WAS ZOOM!?
  15. Darksiders & Darksiders II

I finished this yesterday and it was enjoyed! It's super formulaic and doesn't have an original bone in its body, which doesn't sound like an endorsement, but it does nothing terribly. It just kind of... Exists... and it's a decently sized game with some meat to it. The biggest flaw is its Star Fox Adventures syndrome, where their main mechanism of moving the player forward in the game is based around collecting a MacGuffin. And once you got it? Congratulations, go to this place now and meet another guy WHO WANTS ANOTHER MACGUFFIN. I made a critcical hit/critical damage build that pretty much broke the game for me. I had 30% crit chance with my main weapon and 20 with my secondary, but then there's the skill that gives you a strength boost, crit chance and damage boost AND had a chance of landing a blow twice. Activate skill, destroy anything the game throws at you in record time.
  16. Borderlands 2

I do the same. In fact, I hit around lvl 10 and have stopped playing due to having no one to play with. In games like this it feels especially pointless to play it on my own, for some reason, because I realize I would have more fun playing with friends.
  17. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hello and welcome! I appreciate all of you!
  18. Dave Eggers

    Are you Dave Eggers?
  19. Why so curious?

    Or that. That's speculatively interesting!
  20. Why so curious?

Apparently this is happening soon. It's going through Apple cert at the moment. I had briefly thought about what prize, that would not be an object, but something life-changing without being hyperbolic. I predict... Something to do with space! Or even going up in a spyplane and surfing across the earths atmosphere. Now that'd be a gift!
  21. XCOM Enemy Unknown

The demo seems to do a pretty terrible job at actually demoing the game. What shithead would let me select my research project, but then end the demo before I even see the fruits of said research? Mean! Fruits of salad research, mmmm.
  22. Awful Day-Ruining Bugs

Also surprisingly useful when browsing porinteresting nature articles. Just is.
  23. Hawken, or: Fuck Me, Mech Games Are BACK!

I'm in the Alpha 2 too! There are a few more polished maps in there that look really nice, with intricate detailing. Stomping through city streets, knocking over lampposts. The combat has this longer pace to it, which is something I didn't know I missed until playing this game. The timescale of the fights kind of remind me of the DOTA type games, where you're kind of looking for a moment of weakness or opportunity until you pounce with you buddies. A snappier, action version of that. Defending a capture point, taking a bit of a beating, boosting behind a wall just as a friendly drops in guns blazing, starting up repairs on your own mech while he distracts the enemy and gives cover. Awesome. Any more Thumbs in the Alpha 2? The Alpha 2. The Alpha 2. The Alpha 2. The Alpha 2. The Alpha 2. The Alpha 2. ThELAepna
