Here's a potential fix for you. Disable Steam Cloud saves for that game. right click on DmC>Properties>Updates> and unmark "enable steam cloud".

To elaborate on that a little: To say that Mario has appeal because of marketing, feels like putting the cart before the horse, because that appeal was already there by the fact that they were good games. Marketing simply made a larger audience aware that these games exist. Does that make more sense? Mario as a character is pretty much a blank slate to me and any feelings I associate with the character are because I had a ton of fun playing the games. Thinking about it, does Rayman have a more defined personality than Mario? Because I can also imagine that the more specific a personality of a character, the more likely it is you're gonna lose appeal just by the sheer fact that people don't like his personality? Thinking out loud. Possibly it's a factor of all these things, plus the thing you mentioned about how his design came about. I don't know!

I'm not so sure it has anything to do with character design though. I think Mario's bigger public appeal is because the Mario games have simply been better games and Nintendo has never allowed the character to disappear from the public eye. I find myself in agreement with this. I'm incredibly curious after the specifics, but what JonCole said is also true. Plus, how easy will it be for really small developers to gain entry to these systems? What will the cost of entry be? I will bet that both Sony and MS are looking at Apple's walled garden with a lot of envy and are likely to go with something more similar to that. At the same time, I would also find it hard to believe they'd even be able to go with such a hands-off approach as Apple is doing, but we'll see. Pro-strat: If you're light assault and you're in a scythe and it's damaged with no engineer in sight, just fly it into an enemy tank, but bail out, hover above the enemy tank and throw down some C4. By the way, if we have at least 10 people playing again, I'm for splitting them up in 2 squads and then making a platoon. The brightest patch on the right would be New York, by the way. To say that it'd actually look like this to the human eye, I'm not sure because I don't know what the exposure time of the camera was.
