Sigh. Crytek elevating pandering to an art form: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-10/07/warface-joshua-howard Gotta nail those demographics, bro. How disheartening.

I've never been the biggest GTA fan, but I got into 5 way more than the previous iterations. Actually, I think this is the 1st GTA game I've ever finished! In part, it has to do with the fidelity of the open world, it's absolutely beautiful and alive (this game more so for me than the previous game), but I feel that it generally doesn't really mesh in how they're trying to tell a story. The general dramatic arc became incredibly muddied for me over the course of the game, so when the ending credits started rolling I was genuinely surprised it had ended. Having something exciting happen and then having to drive like 10 minutes to progress, or even having to get a certain vehicle which can take like 30-40 minutes really knocks the wind out of it when you just want to see what happens next. I believe there is a power in having the player do mundane things, but it just felt a little much sometimes. Though, how nice was it to be able to skip entire sequences after you fail them multiple times in a row?? I definitely made use of that several times, which made sure I never got overly frustrated with the game. Sometimes it was nice to just keep trying and knowing I could skip it, if I wanted to. The story was... Alright, I guess, but holy hell did it fell flat on its ass a couple of times for me: I don't want to sound overly negative, because for every negative there is a positive counter point. A lot of moments that did work and had me laughing. And I loved the Chakra Attack guy on talk radio. This is also another one of those games that just continuously blows my mind with the amount of stuff that is in it. Just driving around, taking in the details, holy shit! The sum of its parts is a pretty amazing achievement.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Oh man, oh man! If they have even half of the strange beauty in the Myst games, AAAH, totally excited!! Oh, and if they have Oculus Rift support then I will likely splurge in my pants.

That's Kabe, a female Chadra-Fan. The Chadra-Fan's home planet, Chad, a planet mostly water and patches of marsh; Chad was also home to a human population and it's where Jedi Knight Callista Ming was born. She was noteworthy in that she was part of this Altisian Jedi Order, split off from the Jedi Order, as they held the belief that one should be able to teach multiple apprentices and to allow an Altisian Knight to have a family. PEACE.

I think it's apples and oranges. The 360 controller and the Steam controller have set some very different goals and problems for them to solve. The way I see it, this is a device that could make controlling your PC from your couch a whole lot easier. I obviously don't know how practical the Steam controller would be for most stuff and at this point I'm more interested in owning one because it's such a strange idea. Still, it seems like a tool with a different purpose to me.

It looks so strange! I want one. I gotta know how that thing feels and controls.

I feel like the announcements this week are way more exciting for developers than for gamers, at the moment. This is exactly the future of gaming hardware that got me so super excited a year ago. I really like where this is headed!
-
Valve has been talking about measuring galvanic skin response and heartbeat stuff since forever. So my guess would be something like that. I don't expect any game announcements either, but if they are announcing any game it'd probably be Left 4 Dead 3, since it'd be such a perfect fit for the aforementioned tech.

I'm calling it now that they'll take the same open approach with a potential box, something that's essentially a PC, upgradable and everything. A standard that any interested HW manufacturer can make use of. 5 Minutes!
-
I claimed one of those, but I won't tell anyone which one! Thanks a lot, that's really cool!
-
I can't wait to see what direction they'll take the provocative story of Diablo 3 in!
