  1. Left 4 Thumbs 2

It's a shame you didn't see the match that came after it. I believe Jamsl, Brewte, Olmy and me absolutely... What's the best word? Humiliated? Annihilated? Obliterated? Hmmm, help me pick here, General.
  2. Left 4 Thumbs 2

I'm here to tell everyone that Armchair General a.k.a. Andy is a swell guy who is really good at everything he does.
  3. ファイナルファンタジーXIII

eJPbozRomX4&fmt=18 It's... I don't know what to think about that. It looks nice, at least. I'd like to play it, but I'm in no rush. Japanese soap bullshit makes my toes curl up. The first English trailer I've seen. The voice acting seems better yet again.
  4. That was the one of the funniest bits. He pulled his own game after a few days because people weren't playing it enough, apparently.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

Ong Bak 2 is super drastically different from the first, but I enjoyed that as well. It has more nicely choreographed Tony Jaa kickassery in it, is that not enough?
  6. I hate RapidShare

It's an interesting sales pitch. Annoy the shit out of you and make it as hard to get what you want, before maybe or maybe not giving it to you.
  7. Brütal Legend overload...!

Nah, that game needed a whole lot more work in general. That's months of extra development time, for which I'm guessing they didn't have the money. Brutal Legend was a bit of a disappointment for me, in terms of quality. It didn't help that I just finished playing Uncharted 2, so my senses were a bit spoiled.
  8. Old Games That Hold Up...Or Don't

I've been playing Planescape Torment, with a lot of neat mods thanks to the most excellent guide Thunderpeel wrote. I had been wanting to play that game for so long and so far it hasn't disappointed. Aside from some wonky pathfinding, I think it holds up really well. You don't have to mind reading, because you'd be doing that a lot. It helps that the writing isn't actually all that bad and the story is good so far! All in all, Planescape is kind of a reminder of why it is that I love PC games so much.
  9. New PC: suggest me awesome games!

The Witcher, yes, the Witcher. I encourage the buying of that game greatly! Fuck Oblivion. Fallout 3 would be a good choice as well, though.
  10. goty.cx 2009?

Alright, I think I've decided my favourite games of this year. I decided to split my picks into multiplayer and singleplayer, because what I get/want out of both is drastically different. Check out the formatting, it makes it look al official 'n shit! I think one choice of game will make you go: "Really, man?" But, it makes more sense if you know that I made my choices based on my experience with any given game. Singleplayer game of the year for me: Uncharted 2 -- I enjoyed this greatly, especially in the beginning when not every enemy was wearing a helmet. In further sequels, I really hope they quit that thing where they throw dudes at you with heavy armour that don't die from headshots. Use bullet sponges more rarely! Runner up: Batman: Arkham Asylum Multiplayer game of the year for me: Bionic Commando for PC -- YEA. You're reading that right, being all controversial with my opinion, ooOooOOoO! It's so flawed, so horribly flawed, but fuck me if I didn't absolutely go nuts for it. The moment I started it up and started playing, everything clicked. This is the game that gets my adrenaline pumping, that gives me sweaty palms as I'm making a run for it with the enemy flag, trying to out swing the competition. No game has managed to consistently get this response out of me since the times of Unreal Tournament and Quake 3. The biggest enemy of this game was the horrid console matchmaking system, which ended up ruining it completely. Not only did it take ages for it to get enough people together; chances were that half of those players would simply lag out or that everyone simply couldn't connect to the host. Infuriating. If Capcom announced that they were making a PC only and multiplayer only iteration of Bionic Commando. I would print that announcement out, I'd grind it down into a fine paste, add water and then rub it. ALL OVER MY BODY. It's kind of sad how excited it makes me to think back and talk about this game. Runner up: Left 4 Dead 2
  11. Steam ruined my life

Depends on if you're a man or woman. The Wizard worked ever so hard on his fire spell, in order to impress the ladies.
  12. Steam ruined my life

I have so far bought STALKER and Beyond Good and Evil for 2 bucks each. I'm trying to be as cheap as I can, so nothing for me that is above 5 bucks.
  13. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas all of you! Have an awesome couple of days.
  14. Left 4 Thumbs 2

Shame you had to leave, but indeed, we did! The finale ended up somewhat the same, with both groups wiping once the tank spawned. Played a bunch of Scavenge afterward. Quite fun as well!
  15. Left 4 Thumbs 2

What can I say? I'm the glue that binds a team together. Haw haw haw. But yea, it was fun! Love versus and Scavenge. Played some Survival today and I don't like that nearly as much. Playing against AI feels unfulfilling. Also, hotdogs.
  16. So, how is everyone?

Mention that close source you have next to Jake, Chris and Nick that alluded to this.
  17. Life

Years is a long time, though. The cliché is that you never know who you'll meet and there really is no need to rush. Love comes when you least expect it and all that. Then again, don't listen to me. I've been rather unlucky when it comes to romantic relationships. I might jinx ya!
  18. Left 4 Thumbs 2

Let someone write a program that sends pulses through an electrode. That way, you'll get an electric shock every time you get a message!
  19. Life

I have a family member who has done at least a dozen different fighting arts. He keeps saying to me that, if I want to learn how to fight/some self defense, etc. Take a few months of kickboxing lessons. It's pretty straightforward and gives you a very good basis to work from, since it seems that actual fighting gets very messy, very fast. You'll likely both end up on the ground. For that bit he recommended an entirely different art, though. I forgot the name.
  20. Life

That must be a relief! A happy stress free Christmas after all?
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

Got back from Avatar in IMAX 3D. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by it all. I'm sure plenty of criticisms can be found, but I don't care at this point. It's been such a long that that I was completely absorbed into a movie. It felt really great. Watch it in IMAX 3D, if you have the opportunity to.
  22. So there was this award show thing on the US TV network Spike, I believe, out of which came a number of interesting trailers. I figured I'd put them all in a list so they can be discussed, maybe. Possibly. Halo: Reach Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 Medal of Honor Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Crackdown 2 Spec Ops: The Line Tron: Evolution UFC: Undisputed 2010 Rockband Greenday True Crime Deadliest Warrior There are some yummy things there. I didn't expect the return of the Sands of Time prince (or at least I think that's him), but I figure it has something to do with Ubisoft trying to capitalize on the movie. Halo: Reach is looking quite interesting. It's also nice to see Bungie stepping up their tech a fair bit. Arkham Asylum 2, mmmmmMmmMmm more Batman. Please be even better, please be even better. Dual lightsaber action makes me feel funny in my pants. What do you folks think?!
  23. goty.cx 2009?

Duke Nukem Forever maybe? Although that was announced in the previous decade. It's a multi-decade spanning development cycle .
  24. Life

The literary masterpiece of the 21st century, of course.
  25. Left 4 Thumbs 2

I'm doubting, because that goes against everything Valve has been saying for the past few years. You know, your game as a service and the number of times they said that they wanted to treat L4D2 the same way as TF2, etc. I'd be disappointed if they did let PC users pay for it.
