  1. it's a mechanical headcrab, with a router's antennae on it's ass.
  2. Thumb Fortress 2

I might give that a try sometime, I usually only play on one server, but that one tends to be filled. Wouldn't mind another option. Also when did tf2 become a hardcore game? Don't be afraid to noob it up. Just play and have fun.
  3. Strangely a lot of people still do that, and it was changed pretty early in tf2's life.
  4. I'm actually pacing myself so I don't burn through it. Might finish it up over spring break if art projects don't consume my life. Or other games.
  5. Amusingly stalker has become my far cry 2. I keep jabbering on to friends about it and trying to get them to play it. Oddly enough I had a tough time getting into far cry 2, but this game totally made me it's bitch.
  6. Big Dog is clearly the precursor to AT-AT walkers. So we're basically fucked when people start using those to take over.
  7. Lead and Gold

So is this any good? It caught my eye because of the western theme but I was a bit wary. Edit: I just ended up buying it because 13 dollars is nothing, and the giant bomb preview looked interesting enough. Edit 2: Electric Boogaloo: Pretty fun game, dunno how long it would last, but it's definitely fun to blow away people with a six shooter while having Ecstasy of Gold playing on repeat. Lag can be annoying, but I managed find a few smooth games.
  8. Garriott on the Moon

Futurama already taught us that Al Gore will be the Emperor of the Moon in a thousand years. That and there's whalers on the moon, and they carry a harpoon. But there's no whales so they tell tall tales. They're whalers on the moon.
  9. Far Cry 2

The sound issue you described is something I've had in several other games. Where ambient sounds were fine or super loud and everything else was missing. Updating my audio drivers/codec(hd codec i think) is what fixed it for me.
  10. http://games.adultswim.com/jetpack-jackass-twitchy-online-game.html The song pretty much makes this game.
  11. Adult Swim games are never based on a show. I think they even make a point not to do that actually.
  12. Down in the Zone (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)

Picked up CoP mostly due to all the talk about it on the cast. Really into it, but I ran in to a strange bug. The artifact guy(Beard?) bugged out and was turned away from the counter making it impossible to talk to him. I really wish I had screenshotted or recorded this. But all his animations were as if he was still leaning over the counter, so it just looked like he was doing some lazy fat man Tai Chi movements, while completely tuning me out. He stayed like this for like 2 game days. Finally when I found out who was killing stalkers he apparently decided I was worth his time and stopped telling me to go fuck myself with his fat man martial arts. I also had a great moment where I was running protection for a trader doing some business deal. At the exact moment the mission began: Emission Warning! We killed all the guys attacking us inside the warehouse. Then the best part was that all the guys attacking from the outside were being suppressed by our fire, and ended up just being roasted by the emission.
  13. I prefer Cream Wolf.
  14. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

You get the first unlocks relatively quickly. Actually the class specific unlocks for the most part don't take terribly long. The smoke launcher replaces the grenade launcher for Assault, probably one of the later unlocks. Anyway, it shoots a smoke grenade that covers a pretty decent area with smoke so people can't see. Mostly just for laughs, but there's been times where i'll cover an objective in smoke so people don't see me waiting to kill anyone trying to disarm the objective. I'd say most of the early weapons can be useful even against the later stuff. Except for maybe the engineer's guns, which feel weak even later on. The game is much more fun with friends though, so I'd hook up with people and play. As cool is it is to be able to kill dudes like every second, teamwork wins the day. Well, as long as you're playing Rush anyway, which is a mode I vastly prefer to conquest.
  15. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Oh yea I forgot, Smoke launcher + sniper nest = hilarity.
  16. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

What's even better is when there IS a kill cam and you see him die just after he shoots you. Best one I've had was when the recon got it in the junk with nade launcher at close range, so it didn't explode, he just kind of folded in half and flew back.
  17. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

I play all the time and I mostly run into snipers that apparently use 3 dollar touchpads to snipe because most snipers are terrible.
  18. PC Tech questions

  19. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

I have a core 2 duo 2ghz, the supposed minimum, and I run everything on medium without a hiccup. I have an 8800gt and 4gb of ram.
  20. So marek has a man servant that drips fudge on him when he gets excited. Interesting. Also, Stalker is far cry 2 2010. I await many episodes of talking about stalker.
  21. Street Fighter IV

I haven't played a tekken game in forever, but don't you basically just choose eddy and hit the kick button alot?
  22. Wizard News!! Final Fantasy XIV

Most of them are! There's actually gameplay in ffxi, except most of it involves punching you in the nuts for 6 hours until you get something done.
  23. Wizard News!! Final Fantasy XIV

Sea looked cool, the story missions were kinda neat. But otherwise the place was totally empty and disappointing. I played ffxi for a few years and honestly I'm not really a fan of it anymore. I stuck around for friends for a good long while. While there is some cool things in the game, I just think they made a lot of things WAY too time consuming. If they can fix that stuff in the new one, it would be nice. Either way I don't think I'll get into it, as I'm pretty tired of mmos at this point.
  24. Ubisoft DRM

I'm not really on the ball with c&c4 info, but aren't they providing some tangible rewards/content/thingys with that permanent connection?
  25. iSteam

I was perusing the dredge that is the l4d2 forums for some hilarity. There totally was a thread complaining about how they're bringing it to the mac instead of fixing bugs and they're just doing it because they're greedy bastards that want to milk everything for money. I was quite amazed.
