The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 8: A Castro Situation
Brannigan replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
The warriors of rock thing just purely amazes me. Even in the trailer, there is a guy you could count on being "similar to, but legally distinct from Eddie Riggs." Even more surprising is the track list, which is all the expected metal stuff, and then out of nowhere there's dire straits, muse, and silversun pickups. Wow. Brb turning myself into a demon of rock via money for nothing. -
The game fits the comic pretty well. The comic is pretty fucking weird. Which is really it's appeal. Well that and random indie music/games/comics references. I wasn't crazy about the art style either, but I read what's available and enjoyed it. I think what sold me on the comic was that they play it completely straight for most of the first book. No crazy fights/powers/etc. The movie looks pretty solid as well. Seems to capture the feel of the book pretty well. Plus at this point Edgar Wright could probably crap in my mouth and I'd thank him for it.

All I know is that I hope there's a limited edition that comes with Samuel L. Jackson's prop hand.

I'm saddened by the fact that it isn't called D3us 3x.

It's like people saw Left 4 Dead was popular, without realizing the cover/title was some weird joke/pun, then decided that putting numbers in odd places was totally badass. So according to their marketing, I can't wait for Thifourf.

Whiteboards are clearly better because you can't make that awful scratching noise with them.

E-surance. He was referring to the commercials where the spy chick does something crazy while saying "quote buy print".
-
It's a game that looks like it knows exactly what it is and will play it up to the max. So maybe it will be worth a look.
-
The platforming looks like the newest PoP but with a time mechanic. The combat look likes it might exist this time, though it still seems like combat and platforming are two totally separate things.
-
That's basically the best video ever.

That trailer blew my face completely off my head, and I don't even own a ps3! I should also stop watching trailers for games I won't be able to play.

The iraq section is pretty much just a gears of war section, you're not really meant to be stealthy in it. The airfield section I actually managed to sneak out of the building and then silently take down the 3 guys that show up, plus another I hadn't killed that decided to patrol by. I usually handle things pretty patiently and wait for an opportunity to hand-to-hand dudes. Wow that sounded pretty gay.

Ehh...I've been playing the crap out conviction and rarely did I end up in giant bloodbath shootouts. Except obviously the points where the game intentionally does that. I use the silenced pistol like 99% of the time. Once in a while using the silenced mp5 for a long distance headshot. Me and a friend were actually wondernig at one point why they even bothered with the assault rifles and shotguns when neither of us really used them often. I actually really enjoy the game and have been really into the co-op modes. That's really where the game shines for me.

What's weird is the co-op campaign, which is basically a sort of prologue, is less crazy town than the single player. I enjoyed both really, in fact the goofy dialogue amused the hell out of me, but the co-op is where I really just started loving the game. -

Those guys were still complaining about the airfield on the last couple levels when I played through. Also a guy asked me if I enjoyed the rides at the carnival, it was thoughtful of him to ask. -

So what you're saying is someone needs to dub over the big dog video with the Jurassic Park theme. I approve. -
http://video games.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/boy-scouts-introduce-video-game-merit/1397800 Jake needs one.

Almost never. Though I admit I did not do a single race; just the actual faction missions. With this game I guess the pure glee of being able to do ridiculous shit helped me get the missions done.
-
Amusingly I hardly paid attention to the agency missions until I finished all the factions. I just didn't care. Though I must say the story missions become fucking amazing when I didn't mind doing faction missions because I spent 90% of the game just blowing crap up and having a blast. So I figured doing missions would just help me do that more.

So they're saying that Goose's death wasn't an accident, he was just cashing in his energy.

Nope, only have a PC. I've never really had many reasons to own one, plus I'm broke as all hell.
