I haven't done the mage's college yet, but of the guilds I've done, only the dark brotherhood makes any sense as to why you end up leader.

I've not had a problem with any patch, so clearly there's no problems at all and everyone is making it up!

Became a vampire, really not all that bad. Just adds a fun little side thing where every 3 days or so I need to sneak into a house and feed on someone or else everyone wants to kill me. Which is fine since I'm a sneaky bastard anyway. My only gripe is that the powers won't permanently stay in the favorite list when you lose them, always have to re-add as I become more blood thirsty.

So I'm playing through again as a sneaky assassiny type. Pissed off the guards in Solitude so bad with the 2 assassinations I committed in their town that they broke the laws of physics. They swam through the air after me, far out of town. I sadly did not get a screenshot of the school of guards swarming on a bear, because I was laughing too fucking hard. The only reason I even picked up dragon was to make dragonscale and dragon bone armors for lydia/aela. On this character anyway, probably doing a 3rd character soon

I'd be happy if they tossed out the story missions all together and just gave us a ton of the capture tower side missions.

It's also good money since you'll probably have a million bones/scales by the time you get 100 smithing.

Finally completed my Daedric armor set, with an extra heart to make a weapon for my companion/wife. First thing I do is murder a fort of stormcloaks for their souls, to enchant the last couple pieces I made. Felt thematically appropriate.

I've played this a bit as well. I've had tough fights but never run into anything I absolutely could not do. What level are you and what combat skill level? Granted I haven't played a caster at all yet. I do know a friend played as a heavy armor caster and did fine, I think he also used conjured weapons a lot though. Oh and yes having plenty of fun wandering around/killing things. Occasionally remember to level my crafts.

and sometimes they come in handy! like the shitty dagger i mentioned in the giant block of spoiler tag! That was a quest item and literally the only reason I had it.

My first character was an archer, so yea i just ARROW'D it with some shouts thrown in. New character is going to be mainly melee. I actually enjoy the dragon fights, especially when they come at the worst times.

So it needs some giant cumbersome leg braces ala Forrest Gump? Also finished the main quest, archery 100 is pretty hilarious. But it was pretty great, running through again on a new character and aiming to do the stuff I completely passed over/didn't finish.

I only saw the first movie but didn't really dig it. The series though was much better in my opinion.

Oh god, worst/best situation ever happened to me during a main quest mission.

I only fast travel to places I've been to a million times, or when I just want to go somewhere with an enchanter table thingy to enchant a weapon. Otherwise I walk the wilderness. I only got a horse once and it got killed within 30 seconds of me buying it, that was pretty awesome.

I've loaded into in an area and immediately gotten a free hot shower of fire several times now, they can just aggro on to you.
