For me, it varies a lot. Genre is definitely part of it, I can stomach an action game and some rpgs for a while before deciding to stop. MMOs are a very quick decision for me. I don't try many out these days. But if I do, and I see similarities to WoW within the first 10 minutes, I'm probably done. It's not that I hate WoW, I played it for quite a while. It's that I already played WoW and do not need to do it again. This can apply to single player games too, I'm looking at you Kingdoms of Amalamadingdong. Other than that specific example, a game has to seriously offend me a lot for me to quit it early, more in actual design than bugs, if bugs are an issue I'm willing to check back when things may be fixed.

Still haven't tried him, what little I've played has been single draft mode, has not come up for me yet.

If you're interested in playing a game like this, I'd start with LoL. There's still a ton to learn and stuff, but it is definitely a less complicated game than dota

I'm still sad that syfy never picked up Amazing Screw on Head, the pilot was entertaining as all hell.

I only saw a lag a couple of times, most of the time it was completely smooth for me. Really only ever had issues logging in/starting a game.

As a guy who could not get into diablo 1 or 2, but somehow torchlight grabbed me, I enjoyed this. I think my brain just changed between when the diablos came out and torchlight hit, really can't explain why that happened. I also did play D3 with friends so that helps a bit. I think monk/barbarian are my favorites at the moment. I don't really mind the streamlining of stats to be honest.

I played again early Cataclysm after quitting early in Wrath. Had fun for a while but my schedule stopped me from raiding with my guild, and I was losing interest anyway. The nail in the coffin for me was when arena went from needing 5 wins no matter what to the worst sliding scale in history. Each match took me and my partner 20-30min usually, 5 a week was fine with me. At our rating with the new rules it would take 10-15 which was not cool at all. Ultimately though I would have quit again soon enough, as I'm just not all that into mmos anymore. The only exception really might be planetside 2, and that's as different as it can be from the typical MMO experience.

I'm not of the no-purchase mindset, but I really prefer not to have gfwl. I've had patching issues with it several times, including one where I had to do a crazy workaround to install the patch manually so it wouldn't crash everything ever. Their support is pretty awful too, I forgot my PW, but there wasn't a "forgot pw?" option, I had the ticket open for a week and a half, finally figured out what my pw was and never heard from them about my issue.

Exactly, I wouldn't think it would be too hard to just use some sort of two cans and a string tech, as even that would be better.

Oh, we went in this fully knowing it was terrible, part of the fun
