I have fun with him, plus his dialogue is ridiculous

You live a charmed life

The scanner thing distracted me too.

dont ever see it now. So I'm guessing it doesn't work. Also on Axe, pretty funny laning with him with warlock, battle hunger and lock's dot = dead people.

Let us retire to the ps3 lounge

wyatt cenac has a great bit about the "not-watching tv" thing on his album. Rightly pointing out that those people still watch tv, just on their laptop or something. It's pretty good

wow, I had no idea E3 was going on until right now.

Re: surrender vote. Thousand times yes, dota needs this badly. It's the one thing I like in LoL over dota.

It's been fun, having read the books, seeing the reactions. That said I'm way behind on the show, will have to catch up at some point.

uhhh I want to be a donkey throwing shrek.

Rubick is hilarious fun. My personal favorite moment of mine was stealing lifestealers ult, hiding in nyx with it and ganking with him

There is nothing more terrifying than debating about similar games

Well I was going to leave it at that. But that l4d "controversy" always bugged me. In that it was definitely robust enough to be it's own thing.

If a church doesn't enjoy a good fart joke then that's a church I don't want to belong to. Plus you know, the being an atheist thing.

Farts are god's laughter, help spread his mirth.

sounds like support is right up your alley! they dont take last hits or anything. There are unwritten rules about who should take last hits. Probably not that apparent going in fresh with other similarly new people. But you want certain heros to take the last hits while someone supports them with healing/stuff. Occasionally you do run into the people who just try take everything, but it's not all that common.

you can have the minimap display faceplates in dota as well, I'm fine with the default though

When wc3 came out I didn't have a proper pc to play it, played the campaign on a friend's computer but really never got to do any multiplayer. Knew it existed by name but had no idea what it was until I played LoL.

In my case, and I think twig too, we both played LoL a bunch before dota. I played LoL for a couple years, still play when friends bug me about it. A large part of it for me is general boredom with LoL, where in dota I feel like I'm still learning stuff. Obviously I've argued for design choices in dota over LoL as well. LoL got me into these games, I don't hate it or anything, just like dota a lot more.
-
I think me and Twig are probably also comparing things with dota, where the items tend to be very different from each other.

Yes in game items with gold. There's a build up period to earn those abilities. Flash in LoL often feels like a get out of jail free card early on. I honestly wish they would adopt at least the delay on use if you get hit, like the blink dagger in dota. As for the smite diatribe... People compete over neutrals in dota all the time, even when there isn't someone jungling. Largely this has to do with the existence of pulling, but when there's junglers you do get the counter jungle action going on as well. Plus in dota you can do roshan much earlier game depending on the team, you have to keep an eye and contest that for a lot more of the total game than you would baron. On runes/masteries... it just feels like that they wanted to add a persistence to the system. While LoL certainly is balanced around having it around, I do feel like it's just another layer of abstraction that isn't totally needed. You can play lords differently simply through item choice.

I prefer the dota method actually. Where you have to pay in to get those abilities rather than having flash immediately available
