Andrea Romano, voice caster/director extraordinaire was on the nerdist podcast. Cool interview and anecdotes. Hearing her say "duck tales...wooo ooo!" and saying you can't not say it that way was great.

Idle Thumbs 192: The New Blindfolded Fool

I will never tire of the braid joke -
Dove into multiplayer. It's not bad. Not great, but entertaining enough when I have time to kill. Reaver is god damn useless until you get really deep into their skill tree, and even then you spend too much time on the ground. Katari is a much better 2 hander class since they start with 2 options to build guard. Pretty much just charge around and hit stuff so he's actually pretty fun. Weirdly wish they had maybe looked at WoW or something for dungeon design. Each level more or less functions the same. 2 out of the 3 bosses destroy melee most of the time, with little you can really do strategy wise other than let ranged kill the boss. Really surprised they haven't done a dragon fight or something because those felt the most like a raid boss in the main game. A few people brought up me3 mp in here...that didn't click for me much, I didn't think it was terrible but I just couldn't get into it at all. This is clicking with me a little more but still not something I'll stick with for a long time I imagine. Oh and I forgot somehow, the party banter is cringe worthy.

probably easier to brand his bodyguard and have him promoted by killing the warchief with the aforementioned mob.

Occasionally there's quest turn ins at the requisition table, like for crafting the items to unlock specialization or upgrading skyhold, but that's really it

Finished the game today, really enjoyed it a lot, will probably roll another character sometime soon. Last fight was a bit disappointing...the dragons are much harder fights than the boss.

Good for moving around while firing as archer too, especially with the backflippy move you get
-
Hah yea it does by a lot

You smell like butts

There is interesting stuff with the chosen one business...it's a large part of conversation in the game
-
Wasn't that big a deal to me, also weirdly if you're a certain distance from a dude you killed the loot just appears at ypur feet...didn't notice until I switched to an archer
-
Origins opening varied though...I enjoyed the city elf stuff a good amount
-
It does take a while to get going, but I'm really enjoying myself...the hinterlands were pretty boring though

Finally got to playing this. First thing I did in skyhold was fall through the floor and find a weird rabbit sculpture wearing a top hat. That is one way to really cap off the events that get you there.

The bear is just a lead in to make the infomercial look like it's legit. All these things they air are meant to be fake infomercials with the exception of too many cooks. See also broomshakalaka, For profit school...and others I can't think of right now. The rest are comedic There's also a website set up for the drug.

I don't think it's even meant to be funny

I mean if da3 is anything like the first two, spiders are nearly a bigger issue for thedas than darkspawn or demons.

Just got into HOTS...an acronym i will never tire of. It's pretty fun....I mean it's more casual than dota at least in moment to moment gameplay. Fun though, I enjoy the ease as I don't have time or patience for dota or regular lol anymore. -
The only part I truly disliked in da2 was silly amount of fanservice that shows up, at least in the da1 characters that appear for pretty much no reason at all. There were definitely some combat bits that I liked. Enjoyed the greater control over threat management. Always had issues with my characters getting beat the hell up because of too many backstabs or something in da1. I guess I should just say that I enjoyed the characters and plot more overall in the earlier games, not to say there aren't some lovely bits in da2. I actually enjoyed Anders' arc. I really wish I could play DA:I now.

da2 is ok, while there are certainly issues it gets a lot of it's flack for not really living up to DA:O. But honestly it is an enjoyable game, just DA:O and awakening are both much better.
