(COUGHS POINTEDLY.) Her friend. I'm a gal. It all happened (the boot not opening, lowering the seats, crawling inside) except for the seats flipping up and me being trapped in glass texting rapidly for help. That bit was just my chum's fantasy for damsels in distress, or squashed ladies, or dogs in hot cars, or something. [EDIT.] Well done, Nachmir! I've been trampled by hosses before, it's not fun (the hoof-shaped bruises are a hit at parties though). Sid Caesar once punched a misbehaving horse between the eyes and it passed out.

It's a per-user max tag thing - you can only add two per person.
  3. Awesome Medical Breakthroughs Thread

I keep my fingers strongly crossed that the enlightened view of other countries might filter over to the USA some day before I reach the point I need to, well, you know. Think about exercising that control.

I present today's events, in partial chatlog format. [06/04/2011 1:15:43 PM] subbes: My car's boot release seems to have broken, so I have to open the driver's side door and tug on the little lever to open it, rather than use the key in the lock on the boot. This is irritating but not, I suppose, a real problem as long as I can still get it open in another fashion. [06/04/2011 1:15:43 PM] subbes: I expect it will be expensive to fix so I will ignore it. [06/04/2011 1:21:38 PM] chum: you could drive from the boot so you can keep it closed with your teeth [06/04/2011 1:21:45 PM] chum: a few yoga stretches should do the trick [06/04/2011 1:22:36 PM] subbes: Drive by wire? (TIME PASSES.) [06/04/2011 1:47:11 PM] subbes: boot would not open using lever inside car [06/04/2011 1:47:25 PM] chum: did you have to crawl inside [06/04/2011 1:47:30 PM] subbes: had to fold down back seat, crawl inside boot, and try to manually open it from the insi- [06/04/2011 1:47:32 PM] subbes: BLAST [06/04/2011 1:47:34 PM] subbes: yes i did [06/04/2011 1:47:38 PM] chum: I AM GRAET [06/04/2011 1:48:08 PM] subbes: There's a little switch that locks it permanently, that switch is small and hidden, and it had been switched somehow [06/04/2011 1:48:11 PM] chum: did the back seat flip up when you were in the boot and now you're stuck in the boot and squashed against the glass and texting for help [06/04/2011 1:48:55 PM] chum: please do not leave your [subbes] in the car in this hot weather

(SHRUGS.) I'm sure he'll be along to opaquely explain in a bit.
  6. Bitchy thread tags

Mmm, I spotted that too. But: assume the best possible motives, and all that.
  7. Sony Shitshow

Excellent! Then there will be a lot of empty positions.
  8. Tomb Raider

I didn't think it was completely intonationless. A bit flat, maybe, but I've become a bit fed up with everyone in game trailers SHOUTING and YELLING because THE WORLD IS ENDING (ALSO YOU ARE A GRIM AND GRITTY SPAAACE MUHREEN) etc. so it's refreshing to have emphasis that isn't screamed at me.
  9. Bitchy thread tags

Oop, I missed it. Thanks, carry on etc.
  10. Bitchy thread tags

What happened to this? Are there tag accountabilities yet?
  11. Sony Shitshow

    Literally?
  12. Sony Shitshow

Sony's E3 is going to be fun.
  13. E3 2K11

The Sony conference is something like 5 hours long. Anyone playing the E3 drinking game with that one will have to be wheeled out by paramedics.
  14. Keeping your data safe

    Wha? Whahappen?
  15. Life

    You're doing it, then?
  16. Issues downloading old thumbs on iTunes

    Tens of gigs, rolling downhill.

47 is the number of half-hour slots in a 24-hour period (from 00:00 all the way to 23:30). As to what for, I ca'n't actually say that right now, but as sure as I can, it'll probably show up in the "Plug your Shit" thread. But here's one short example, since I had the document open: 09:30. Tarot Time. What's in your future? Elora O'Ssssssssss, professional Goth, gives a wide selection of generic auguries anyone can apply to their own lives.
  18. BioShock Infinite

"I think people have very complex relationships," he continues, "and people and giant 30-foot-tall bird-like creatures can have very complex relationships." (Full of spoilers for the E3 demo.)
  19. Life

Happy Birthdays not in the Happy Birthday thread! Ngh. I'm trying to write 47 comedy bits and only have three remaining to do, but nothing is coming. I've been staring at these three empty slots for almost four hours now. I hate it when this (regularly) happens.
  20. Life

    That's Germany for you.
  21. Portal 2

I have it and can lob it up on DropBox for you, if you like.
  22. Keeping your data safe

Shit man, I'm sorry to hear that. You were so pleased with it, too. Past year, I've had terrible luck with data - first our Time Capsule hard drive failed, then my MacBook died spectacularly in the middle of listening to a Thumbs, then the replacement USB drive I got to replace the time capsule died when a cat led to a sudden removal of the power cord. These days I use Dropbox for my vital stuff - meaning work and school documents - but I'm considering using AWS for offsite backup. Only considering, though - nothing (like, say, a drive failure) has prodded me into actually doing it yet.
  23. They won't. It'll turn into an infinity of silver birds.
  24. I really hope they don't. Everything since DA died has been terrible, and I'd like to leave the series as an overall good thing, not a thing that was good then was ruined.
  25. The threat of Big Dog

    Heresy, etc.
