PIRATEPOO IS NOT HAVING A BAD WEEK BURN HIM
  2. Life

It touched me in or around the marriage. But anyway. Sounds like this week has been shitty for everyone else, too. Hooray!
  3. Life

Hello! Things have been shitty here this past week.
  4. Calling all Thumbs! (I could do with some help)

Flex was Flash's attempt at the RIA market - prebuilt components like panels and menus and other objects. With Flash Builder 4 I believe they merged it more into Flash.
  5. Anti-abortion protesters.

Probably an easier thing to do would be to volunteer to be a clinic escort (link is USA-ian). Back in 2005, one of my chums was a clinic escort in New England and said it was one of the best things he ever did. (Sorry to be all practical about it.)

I know books are old hat and whatnot, but when I learned Flex 3 and 4, this book gave a good intro to ActionScript (bonus - the "Flex 3" edition has a ton of pages available on Google Books - the "Flex 4" edition might, also). From there, I just used the Adobe documentation, because I'm dead 'ard, me.

I like to listen to Mike and Tom Eat Snacks while I walk, but it's been weeks since I've gone for a walk because of weather. Brrrr.

Apparently, Jake has a new pet:
  9. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

I saw a load of those late last year; there were so many that I suspected it was a meme. (THE IMAGES, NOT THE CLUMPS OF SEMEN.)

    My ass is neither.

(HUGGGGGGS) Also: you probably need some time away from her, or time to not think about her. If you have any chums who are not wrapped up in this, ask them to keep you entertained for a while - tell them you need to keep yourself occupied and you're up for anything. (NB: I AM DRUNK RIGHT NOW SO I MAY NOT BE GOOD AT ADVICE.) P.S. DEAR THUMBS, MY FAT CAT IS THROWING UP AND SEEMS DEPRESSED. COULD HE HAVE AN EATING DISORDER?
  13. The threat of Big Dog

hahaa I know where you got THAT from P.S. TP no, I mean I got the laptop you threw

The heart is just a chunk of muscle. It's the brain and the hormones that are to blame. To blame for me being a complete ass. (That reminds me, I need to re-read A Certain Chemistry.)

I'm sort of appreciative of you, too, Ben X!

That exists and we are complete and utter jerks. (I'm not good with relationship advice.)

What timing! Scott and I finally watched Community last week and quite liked it.

Jekyll and Sherlock both had problems with female characters but I don't know how much can be blamed on the original stories.

I went to the inaugural meeting of the North FL Fountain Pen Club (unless we decide to call it a militia, which I thought would be funnier) this weekend. It was just like you'd imagine it: lots of pens, at least one George R. R. Martin body double, and at least one "mint, never removed from box" item.

I hate S Thompson's stuff - he wrote the Blind Banker ep in S1, which was a huge let-down after Ep1 and made Ep3 have to work so much harder to recapture my interest - and yet I liked S2 ep3 more than I liked Baskerville. (Those of you who follow me on Twitter will have already seen me moaning on about Moffat & Gattis' "rubbish mate" and will be chortling that I must admit that this ep was good. Not great, because I can definitely find problems with it, but good.) I think part of this is because it had a lot more action and felt better paced than Baskerville. We had things happening, rather than , CGI mind palaces ("we spent all that effects money on his Minority Report Aspergers process, so let's spend minutes with it"), (though surely would have been a better giveaway), and a victim with an inexplicable posh accent that sounded just "off" enough that I expected it would be a plot point later but it turned out not to be. (COUGHS POLITELY.) I am a harsh critic. I like Sherlock more than I liked Jekyll, and I'm hungry for . IN OTHER NEWS: Finally watched Community, caught up on Parks and Recreation, and apparently Netflix now has all of X-Files available for streaming so I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the week.
