1. Idle IPv6

Meanwhile, Comcast sent us many scary "YOU MUST GET AN XFINITY®© CABLE BOX TO WATCH CABLE BY MAY 25 OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WATCH CABLE THIS IS SERIOUS" letters. As of June 6th we can still watch cable without a cable box just fine.

I wanna say, for the record, that Scott put in an initial application with Telltale and started this process before the Thumbstarter. No-one involved with the Thumbstarter interviewed Scotty (as you could tell from Jake's reply in another thread). I hope that no-one would ever seriously believe that my donating $1k to the Thumbstarter had anything to do with Scott's hiring and that he didn't get this job on the basis of him being a kickass awesome dude who will totally rock cinematic layout artisting.

It's as high as 1%?

where's the angry smiley on this new forum thing

If anyone in SF is reading this thread and wants to offer my husband a couch to surf on for 2-5 days, that would probably be a really sweet gesture. I can't promise he won't randomly start laughing to himself about horsebag, though.
6. New people: Read this, say hi.

Don't be mean. He can write smilies.

What the-
8. brkl suggested shammack should just sleep under the table in the Thumbs office.

He is pretty quiet...
10. Life

He already mentioned it in a different thread, but I want to put it in here, too: Scotty (shammack) has accepted a job with Telltale, working a a cinematic layout artist. This means he has to move to California. I will not be moving with him right away; I'm staying here in Tallahassee at my current job until I find something in California, as we can't afford to live together in CA unless both of us are working. Scott's looking for places to live (anyone who has any ideas, please PM him) and I am worrying about surviving without him for a few months. Additionally! I have "christmas tree rash," which is not as festive as it sounds: it's a rash that covers most of my body (except my head, forearms and legs) and itches quite terribly. The only treatment is time; it will go away in 4-6 months. It's not contagious as far as Science can tell, but Science also has no real idea what causes it. My mother thinks it is stress-related, while I think I got it from an adorable foster kitten. My car's starter motor just went out, and Scott's car runs but is too decrepit to survive the drive from Florida to California. His parents have kindly offered to help with a replacement car for Scott, and we'll be patching mine up and tying bits on with baler twine to keep it running. I can also walk and bike to work.

:science101: If the test room weren't so silent, his breathing wouldn't stand out so much. Paradoxical!

Well, that's my mind blown.
13. I'm coming back into this thread to be a jerk and say that I hate Dov Charney and the AA ads make me feel physically queasy. I can unpack this more but it is basically a feminist rage-y thing and we've already got that sort of discussion going on in a separate thread. HOWEVER I respect that it is difficult to find a t-shirt brand that is all things to all people, you have made your choice, and I have no wish to besmirch you; I am not second-guessing you or asking you to change your rewards or anything like that. It's not anger at the thumbs. Please do not take it as such. I just had to speak my reaction to AA because if I am silent on it I'll just get an anger-ulcer or sit in the car stuffing french fries into my face while crying.
14. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

Can you add a Javascript/CSS thang such that when it is our birthday, the entire screen is overlaid with falling balloons? e.g. position: absolute; z-index:1001; background:url(it-is-balloon.gif.jpg) Oh, wait. This approach would have the great side-effect that when it is our birthday we cannot post because everything would be covered by the balloon overlay. Well, consider it a bonus.
15. Hitman: Absolution

But what's the alternative? That the dude objecting to being called out at his male privilege is level-headedly and non-emotionally being an asshole? I'd rather assume an "oh shit whaaaaat" knee-jerk reaction from a hurt dude than a cold and calculating anti-feminist supervillain (or something).
16. Home: "A Unique Horror Adventure"

Grammar: it should be "AN unique" etc.
17. Life

Just one eye, not both. Pissing in both would be cruel.
18. Life

Tell him he's become a circlejerking twat.
19. Does AA do fat bastard size shirts? Because that's the size I need.
20. Life

Miffy! Yes! I will be in Tallahassee to receive your letter.
21. Hitman: Absolution

I watched the trailer and said "what," in varying pitches and at various volumes, as layer upon layer of WTF-ery unfolded. So, er, this is a series of cinematics about a man who kills sexy empowered nuns and steals their guns. I see no sign that the game is something I'd want to sit down and immerse myself in or identify with as a PC. Then this happened:

S.Hammack tells me I'm cryptic and quippy ("quiptic"?) in most of my comments here, and even he has no idea what I'm on about half the time. If I've become part of SkyNet, it's been a long time coming.
23. Life

That will make a funny story late, Henroid. (Sorry about being so cryptic lately. All will be explained in a few days.)
