There are over 5,000 LibriVox audiobooks available in English. Many of them are good, and some of them are rubbish. If only someone would review them!

Cold-y numb AND burny? That sounds like some paresthesia, right there. (I have paresthesia as a result of some brachial plexus oddness and RSI. Not fun, but helped by medication. Neat side effect of turning me into a moron past 9PM.) P.S. My brachial plexus oddity was discovered as a result of seeing a doctor about coldness and numbness of the top of my my right arm. I have extra bones, and they mean I can stop the pulse at my wrist by holding my upper body or arms in a certain manner. This has never come in useful and generally makes things a pain in the ass because I have to be careful not to accidentally cut off the blood flow to my hands by assuming the wrong position. Woke up last week with a completely rubbery 'dead' cold arm because it ended up in the wrong position while I was asleep. Vomiting smiley. Small font because this thread is about YOUR medical oddness, not mine.

Because Florida and summer, I have been making a lot of ice lollies. I have a go-to for "chocolatey" ice lollies (Fudgesicle style) but I haven't yet found any that duplicate the taste of a mini milk. Chocolatey lollies 3/4 cup sugar 3 tbsp all-purpose flour 3 tbsp cocoa powder 4 cups semi-skimmed milk (may substitute evaporated milk for some of the semi-skimmed; if you do, reduce the sugar appropriately). Combine sugar, flour, and cocoa powder; gradually stir in the milk until you have a smooth mixture. Bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes (or until thickened) while stirring. Cool slightly, pour into ice pop moulds and freeze.

Good Omens by T Pratchett & N Gaiman. The Antichrist is born. There is an hilarious misunderstanding/baby mix-up and he goes home with the wrong family. Includes supporting cast of angels, demons, a Witch-Finder General, and the M25. The Big Bow Mystery by I Zangwill. Seminal early locked-room mystery and scathing contemporary satire on Victorian London. Get the LibriVox audiobook recording by Adrian Praetzellis. Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About, by M Millington. You may have already read the website, or the newspaper column, or seen the blimp. A lightish read, heterosexual relationship focused, British male narrator in his mid- to late-twenties. At this point, probably available in every known language (including Welsh). Of his other books, A Certain Chemistry is good, I've been stuck at 5% of the way through Instructions for Living Someone Else's Life for about 9 months now, and I can't remember the name of the other one.

My mother wanted to do beekeeping. She developed this desire AFTER she discovered her anaphylactic allergy to bee and wasp stings. I have suggested this is the bee version of toxoplasmosis' effect on mice or the fungus that mind-controls zombie ants.

The Pac Man cartoon included songs. I know Scott has two of them as mp3s that he got from a great in-depth blog about this sort of thing, but can't recall the URL (hnnngh).

Try not to drive yourself mental by worrying while waiting for your appointment. Yeah, I know, that's going to be almost impossible.

Scotty managed to talk me into applying for a job at TellTale. He wants his wife to work at the same place as him? Is he INSANE?
