I watched the entirety of the WiiU livestream this afternoon and the high points were 1) Full-length NintendoLand opening music, grabbed through the "pull the disc out before it's finished loading" trick (the WiiU did eventually realise and error out) 2) Patrick getting really annoyed and then grumpycat/sulky when he learned that his Nintendo account was now permanently fused to the office WiiU and couldn't be transferred to his own console. The WiiU itself doesn't look so appealing right now. Some of the ports are terrible (Batman + Epic Mickey have terrible framerates) and the price points are high even for downloadables; nothing stands out to justify a day one perch.

oh god which thread do I reply n I played Real Lives 2008 when it was popular in /vg/ and I had some interesting experiences. The most 'successful' one was born in Sweden, moved to the US, and got stupidly rich by running a business exploiting workers.

It's mostly my fault for finishing in a week what they gave me until thanksgiving to do.

Good cheese is dead expensive here. Stupid American plastic cheese is everywhere though. Oh man I remember a mild creamy cheese with orange in it that we got from some speciality cheese shop in '97. Mmmmmm.

oh hey rashes I had a rash and my dermatologist gave me three different ointments for it; one which made my face feel really hot if I drank alcohol, one which reduced the rash but gave me a different kind of rash near my eyes, and one which dealt with the different rash caused by the other ointment but shouldn't be used long-term because of reasons. I had to play a subtle dance around which thing was applied when so side-effects balanced each other out and the rash stayed gone. I thought about making a chart.

I find it helps to rationalize romantiq whatnot down to the basics: it's chemicals. You've got a chemical addiction - when you see her, you get a rush of oxytocin (and whatever else is in that mix - probably PEA and some neurotransmitters too), and it's a high. Cutting yourself off from that high and going cold-turkey (as in a breakup) or weaning yourself off it (as in the "let's just be friends" version) is difficult, and it plays merry hell with the brain. Once that has been straightened out you can deal with the emotional meanings, but I find knowing that there's chemical and biological reasons for your reactions helps me feel less like a special unique snowflake going through pain no-one else has ever felt and that can never be dealt with. Hang in there, Kroms. You are going to be OK. (Even if just because I say so. If needs be I'll march out there.)

So, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but in Ep 2, I sort of got it right from the start - my initial thought was that they Incidentally reading through the credits for 3 and 4 I was saddened to learn that one of the Telltale pets - the betta fish - had died.
