We won't know what sort of cancer it is until Saturday; I booked an appointment so we can go in and meet the vet face to face rather than getting the news and making the necessary decisions over the phone. The most common cancer in cats is lymphoma, but the placement of the tumour makes it very unlikely to be that. Cancer in young, healthy (FIV-negative) cats is rare, but I guess it does happen. He has a big line of stitches on his shoulder and is receiving an opiate painkiller every 8-12 hours (which he doesn't like, though it does cause euphoria during the come-up, which means he'll limp over to us and be very very affectionate before flopping over). He's sat watching the bird feeder right now, and I heard him bark half an hour ago. He's the orange one of the pair below.

One of our cats has a suspicious lump under the muscles in his shoulder. The vet biopsied it today and said it seemed like a cancer, but we won't find out what sort until Saturday. He's only 6 years old. UGH.

Or just type the Youtube URL and the board should automagically detect them.

You went and got your tetanus booster, right? They're only good for 6-10 years so if you can't remember when you last got one go and get one.

I bought 2 Prison Architects, Civ 4 (5 won't play on my OS) and, thanks to the stream, Crusader Kings 2.

Crusader Kings II: The Triumph of Ragnar

Jesus, this game. Sorry I suggested a course of action that ended up with Brian camping outside Jerusalem and then being voted heir! -

Could you not just elevate his son, and leave Ragnar as Lord Mayor? -

So you're saying Ragnar's son is only inbred due to a bug? Imagine, if he weren't inbred he could be brought into the Vanaman fold. In fact, I have an idea. Ragnar is unlikely to have any more issue since he's old, and his son is probably not good for too much, since he's inbred and lowborn. But you can begin to elevate the family, little by little. Marry him to a courtier, educate him, install him somewhere and keep your fingers crossed that his kids do better. Pull his kids up the ranks into the gentry, making sure each generation does better than the one before through a well-considered campaign of strategic marriage and hereditary grants. Make sure each generation learns that it was the sacrifices of Ragnar that led to their status. Give them a coat of arms with crossed-trowels rampant over a trug courant. -

She was lowborn and, given the state of Ragnar's son, was related to him. I suspect she died of a poverty-related illness, like scrofula or "looked at Brian funny". -
Congrats on successful cell division, Zeus.

Crusader Kings II: The Triumph of Ragnar

I'm rewatching the stream right now because we were half-asleep during the last half-hour of last night's stream, and I keep noticing things I missed. This game seems Dwarf Fortress deep. -

The last minute of this episode... good lord. (APPLAUDING SMILEY.) -
I'm swimming in panic about my job at the moment because I'm the only developer for a project that is going to be pitched to VC soon. I have no formal CS background, and I'm p sure that my code is terrible and as soon as we try to actually roll it out to a proper customer it will all fall apart, I will be fired, and I'll have to swan-dive off the bridge.

I miss my boring office job. It turns out the thing i've been working on will be presented to VCs soon to try and get $$$ which terrifies me.

Unfortunately, the Real Escape Game events near those dates appear to be sold out. Escape From The Magic Show may have tickets at the door if they have no-shows, but no guarantees. DAMN that Real Escape page is hard to figure out, but I think July is back to Escape From The Mysterious Room, the listed dates in July stop on the 21st, and all tickets are sold out.

Woke up about 5 minutes before the Nintendo presentation ended. All I got to see was Mega Man in SSBWU.
