Look at this noob who didn't listen all the way to the end of the episode.

That last game was so winnable, but it's a matter of shifting piles around to free up the ones you have, to make up for the one that's trapped.

Cabot is at the specialist today. They will knock him out, then do a chest X-Ray, then do a CT scan. This will reveal any metastases on the lungs and which (if any) bones the tumour is coming from. If there are no metastases and the tumour is coming from the scapula (shoulderblade) or not coming from any bone, they will then operate to take out the tumour, which will mean amputating his leg. I'm trying to think positive thoughts and also keep my mind on work, and neither is really happening. Here is a picture.

Woo! Yeah! I helped!

I haven't played Dwarf Fortress since 40d in 2010; I had plans for an amazing fort all laid out (ButteredCircles, founded by six dorfs known as The Toasts of Burning). It was going to be so efficient - shortest pathways to everything, happiness-generating fountains and waterfalls, caged spiders for silk, a trading post that could be flooded with magma to wipe out elves, carvings of dorfs appreciating cheese... it was a labour of love inscribed neatly by hand on graph paper. I got halfway through actually making it and ran out of time because of graduate school, RSI, and working three jobs; I finally threw out the paper plans when I moved to SF earlier this year. Also, Chris sometimes makes the best faces during streams:

Steve Gaynor's tweets about This Charming Man got me listening to The Smiths again. Thanks, Steve. -
I tried it and realised that I need nootropics to handle it.

Make sure it hasn't been used for bitcoin mining. If your friend is a libertarian or Ron Paul supporter the card may have been redlined for months in a poorly-ventilated mining rig.

If you left before the end of tonight's game, you missed some amazingness. Nick's recklessness sort of paid off. Great stuff. -
Early online games journalism seemed to exist on a scale that only reached from Maddox to Old Man Murray; even online outlets for print journalism adopted the same tone. I suspect that came in part from the era in which online games journalism grew: the snark-filled hate-everything irreverent-dude secretly-ironic 90s/00s. Though some sites and outlets provide insightful and mature commentary (RPS/GB), I don't know if the industry as a whole ever grew past it. Individual journalists largely did, but for many of them it seemed to coincide with a departure from journalism, or a move to RPS/GB.

Oh god, the x-ray specs are pre-order DLC? Ugh. -
Cabot has osteosarcoma. We have an appointment with a specialist to see if it's operable; If it is, we're looking at amputation. Fingers crossed it's operable and hasn't spread.

It's not drinking alone if you've got a twitch chat full of people with you.

I watched some Lets Plays of LSD: TDS 4 or 5 months ago and I agree that it's bonkers. It has the capacity to present you with some terrifying creations! -

Ha, I figured that LJ was yours and I was going to leave a comment on it but I'm not that creepy. (I met my husband through LJ. It was not all bad!) -
