  1. The Dream Machine

I haven't played this but it looks intriguing. Episodes 1-4 are in this week's Humble Weekly Bundle, so it seems like a good time to give it a whirl. https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
  2. Epic Disney on GameInformer

Hmm, I wonder just how wrong it is possible for one person to be. Oh, so that's how wrong.
  3. (IGN.com)

http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=8765863 "Like Citizen Kane, you can return to Metroid Prime again and again. Both are haunted by the knowledge of loss. A bright bang in which you can see yourself for a split second before disappearing completely." - Michael Thomsen, IGN.com

For me, my interest is largely due to it being Warren Spector's baby - if it was being made by someone else, say American McGee's Mickey then I'd be much quicker to write it off as a lame and unnecessary attempt to be edgy. What really excites me isn't just that it's Warren Spector, but rather the clear passion that Warren has for all things Disney. You can see it in the video linked in the first post in the thread - and it isn't just him shilling his latest project, he has talked about this in the past. This is the guy who co-wrote Toon, a pen and paper RPG based on old cartoon tropes. The way I see it, here is an incredible talent given free license to work on what sounds like the game he's wanted to make all his life, so I can't help but be excited to see where he's going to take it.
  5. Idle Thumbs 46: First Annual Year

By this point I think having a stupid storyline is basically a Red Faction tradition. It's been quite a while since I played the first one, but from memory the introduction goes something like this: "Wasn't sure what to do with my life after I left college, so I signed up to work in the mines on Mars. I thought it was going to be some sort of holiday camp, but it turns out they actually make us work hard! This isn't what I was expecting, I'm going to brutally murder a guard in cold blood." When you guys were talking about Moses, I was wondering how this Super Moses RPG would actually work. You can't start off by parting the Red Sea, that's totally a level 10 Moses ability. I figure you'd have to work up to it slowly, so level 1 Moses could part puddles so that ladies can walk down the street without getting their shoes wet, but level 3 Moses could part the dishwater in the sink so you can remove the plug more easily.

There's a little bit more information about the game here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/first-epic-mickey-details-spilled If they manage to pull this off, I think this may just turn out to be something quite special. Come on Warren, don't fail me now!
  7. Other podcasts

Perhaps they could combine the two podcasts and call it Thumb Up Yours?
  8. Have people seen Machinarium?

This really is gorgeous. It would have be nice if they'd made a bit more of an effort with the interface though, I expected right clicking while holding an object would send it back to the inventory, but instead it just brings up the Flash player right click menu. Still, it's as charming as I'd imagined, I've got my pre-order in now.
  9. Idle Thumbs 45: Episode Forty-Five

I thought the exact the same thing. Maybe Bioware are just trying to make things easy for this guy: jwxN8sCIOOE
  10. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hey there thumbs! Finally signed up for your fancy forums. I'm actually a long-time reader of the site, so really should have done this yonks ago. I've never quite got the hang of forums though, so we'll have to wait and see if I manage to do better than posting 3 times and fading into the background.
  11. Tales of Monkey Island

Cheers Jake. Actually, after posting that I wondered if I would get banned for viral marketing, but seem to have gotten away with it this time.
  12. Tales of Monkey Island

Anyone who is interested in this is probably on the same mailing list I am, but just in case anyone missed it... For one day, Telltale are giving away episode 1 of TOMI. If you've already bought it, you can get another game free. Unless, like me, you bought it on Steam, in which case I think you're stuffed. But anyway: Free stuff! Go here: www.playlikeapirate.com
