IGN - The Price You Pay to Play. Those answers largely come down to personal preference, but there's no arguing unequal games cost equal amounts. A short, broken mess like Rouge Warrior carries the exact same MSRP as Fallout 3, which rocks over ten times the content and a few thousand more layers of polish. But if Rouge Warrior is grossly overpriced for what it offers, then Fallout 3 is clearly under-priced. Digging every secret and side quest out of the Capital Wasteland can take between sixty and a hundred hours... that's a hell of a lot of game for your dollar. To the point where I can't help but think developer/publisher Bethesda got slightly shafted.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 4: Super Expert Pro
SoulChicken replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Holy shit Hermie! That's hilarious. -
I watched bits of the playthrough and 1) every part I jumped to was a cutscene 2) the german voiceovers were awful. Still charming though.

Good times, fun times. Nice to meet all the thumbs who came on Saturday night, everyone I talked to was cool. I was Nicholas the guy with the camera. It did get super loud so there was a lot of this: "Gamegold coolgame!" "goldcool coolgold game?" "No : (" edit : Chris, I sent you the pictures I took (to questions@idlethumbs.net)

No not at all, it is awesome, its a shared roof for the building. It doesn't look like its going to be warm enough on Saturday evening but let's not give up hope. I can probably have stragglers over for video games and drinks after the meet though. We can have a Pikmin 2 tournament or 10 of us hotseating Far Cry 2. Given I've used the grill in the depths of winter, we would have something to eat too. Obviously not 40 thumbs but 10 or so of you can come over In the meantime, please tell me I am alright looking for a place that is over 21's only... Wherever we go, you will get carded in this town. I've got a good idea for a place near the convention center, I'll stop by this evening and scope it out. Also waiting to hear back from a couple of people, who I think will suggest a sports bar in Fenway, which might not be bad at all as its not a game night. I think my idea might be a winner though. Finally, looks like I have a spare pass for Friday and Saturday...

I'm going to ask around about this today and come up with a couple of suggestions. If the weather is good though we are going to my roof.

Congratulations Britain. Hopefully this will ensure the continuation of the Rogue Warrior franchise! Its my impression that the UK games industry has been pretty strong, just off the top of my head you've got Lionhead Rare Codemasters Rockstar Bizarre Creations Psychognosis Firebird Acornsoft Bug Byte Ultimate Play The Game Ocean Gremlin Graphics To name but a few. I think this is intended more as a catalyst than a support.

Anyone know how many dimensions this is going to be in?

Looks like the balmy spring weather is gone for a little bit, its like walking through a cloud outside today. Looks sunny but cold on the weekend, good in that the nerds will be less sweaty, bad in that no rooftop grillin'.

Top of the South End on East berkeley street. Dpp are you going to PAX?

I sent you a PM Chris. If this awesome weather continues into next weekend (its 70 tomorrow) I'll totally make good on my promise to host thumbs. My building has a sweet roof deck:

I need a time travelling steam train equipped with a flux capacitor for this to be a day one perchase for me.

Cool, I was wondering about that while walking home last night, I don't think many serial killers could hold down a career as a police officer for any length of time either.

Its been said over and over but the game you are playing after you have control over the composition of your party is so far away from where you started the game at its silly. Game went from poor to fine to pretty cool to sweet to hell yeah. It's now my favorite Final Fantasy.

You can run DirectX 9 in W7. Launch the benchmark tool, I changed it there I think. Or the configuration app. I wish I remembered for sure, I know the pain you feel.

I had this last week and it was infuriating me (steam version). I switched to DirectX 10 and I think that fixed it for me. Of course this was after hours of trying different drivers for things etc. Bastards.

It's an episode of Scooby Doo with a bunch of average 90s DVD thriller tropes thrown in. There are only two people that matter in this story. Dad Dude and Killer Dude. Set up the situation, introduce killer's gimmick. Direct attention to one theory. What if killer WAS the Dad? Introduce a conceit to make this plausible/possible... blackouts. Brilliant, doesn't rely on anything else in the world to serve its purpose. Dude didn't do it, turns out he was just having stress blackouts. Very very very carefully towards the end throw in enough fiction so that the reveal makes a little sense, in this case childhood flashback. Child is obviously the killer, has a good motivation for killing. Who is the killer? Its the other guy. Bait and Switch. That is the story. Then throw in some completely incidental and expendable characters and narrative lines. Fill up the time, distracts attention from tenuos plot detailed above. Heavy Rain used those last things to add strings that can be cut or tied with no consequence to the core story. Layered over the basic permutations of dad/kid/killer lives or dies, these allow for the 23 "endings." You cut or tie the strings based on whether you can mash some buttons as fast as they say you have to. = video game. This was fantastic Groucho
