Fengxii "got chased off" aka had the last straw break by the weird aGG split between the group of aGG that are just as aGG as ever and the group that is just kinda trying to move on. Fengxii was trying to tell Izzy Galvez to let some stuff rest because it wasn't worth it, and then all of Izzy's peeps dogpiled. I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the aGG element who just can't stop posting screencaps of awful tweets and shitting on soha/altgames because she's trying to suck some life out of GG with positivity. Just blocking those people with no regret at this point.

A ton of the accounts shitting on Joss were just people with Avengers avatars and generic sounding usernames, I'm sure they were all "fans of MCU"/"feminists" "with legitimate concerns".

Literally a week ago I was saying something about how dumb smart watches are and today for some reason I really want one. Maybe it's because I started running and want the HR/fitness stuff, but fuuuuuuuu. My life is a never-ending carousel of tech lust.

This recent thing has made me consider subscribing to Crashplan or something of that nature. Do you backup to an image or something then upload to Amazon Cloud, or do you backup the whole filesystem? Amazon is kinda cheaper than most things, but I want something kinda simple and easy. -

I agree with Gorm on the RAM, if there is a cheaper option (the blue or red versions of the HyperX for instance) I'd step down. I don't know what would be bad re: the Seagate HDD, I've had decent enough luck with them though I tend to prefer WD. The i3 should be fine for most gaming, i5 is worth an upgrade for most but you did say that gaming wasn't really top priority so I don't think it's a big deal. WRT the video card, if Nvidia is in limited supply the 270 or 270X is the same performance bracket as the 750 (Ti) just with slightly better performance and worse power consumption. All said, I think it looks good but could benefit from tweaking. I sympathize SAM, I think my external hard drive is about to crap out. Trying to remember if anything is crucial to save, because it does work until it goes under load so I could probably transfer over a little bit at a time until it bites the dust ultimately. -

That's pretty much the only reason I posted the Zoostorm one, because it's virtually the same as the Cyberpower but with a more modest case. Also, you can replace fans if the glowing really bothers you. It's usually just a $10 case fan that is easily removed with a screwdriver. -
Not any towels I can see. Hm.

I assume you're talking about some kind of prebuilt system by the way you posed the question, here are a couple good choices for what it seems like you want - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zoostorm-7270-5021-Desktop-i3-4160-GTX750ti/dp/B00NJC4MGY/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cyberpower-Warrior%C2%A0-Desktop-i3-4160-Windows/dp/B00RGRN2CI/ The unfortunate reality is that pretty much the only way you're going to get a half-decent video card that can do any gaming is if you buy a "gaming" PC. I'm not really aware of the state of custom PC builders where you are, which is why I just shopped at Amazon. An advantage of buying straight from a builder is that they typically offer some kind of warranty, like a year or two for parts and more time for general support. I couldn't really divine from the Cyberpower UK site if they ship/warranty for Ireland, but if they do something like these would probably fit your needs - http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Infinity_X3 http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Ultra_FX_Gaming_6 -

What's your budget? That'll basically dictate what you can get. -
I never buy games on uPlay and I'm not sure I would encourage anyone to, but I did happen to see that they're running a sale on The Witcher 3 pre-orders where you get a free game of your choice (between AC: Rogue, AC: Black Flag, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry 3) and a free copy of Neverwinter Nights. Actually kinda tempting so I could get ahold of Rogue...

I believe it's a special arrangement that Nintendo had with the Louvre. It was actually really fun to mess around with, much better than a paper or audio guide. And it was super accessible to the point where I think just about anyone could use it, except for things like exhibits being taken out for various reasons and the guide not reflecting that kinda stuff.

Yeah, there are multiple reasons I think it's going to be weird - Security - I feel weird listening to headphones or sleeping with nobody else in the house Loneliness - Spending 2/3 of my time with just myself is sure to be weird Being away from my wife specifically/routine - Sleeping in bed alone, making coffee for one, making small portions of food, etc are all weird
-
I'm about to spend 8-ish days on my own without my wife for the first time since we've been married. We work together so we spend a lot of time together on a daily basis. The longest I think we've been apart in the last year was a couple days. I feel like the next week is going to be so weird.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
JonCole replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
The leveling system has a place in me doing enough damage for fights to not last forever and having enough HP or damage resistance to not die all the time. I guess if you're a pro that stuff doesn't matter, but it matters to me. -
Reviving this nearly year dead thread to show off my new desk space - Picture's not too hot, but I'm pretty happy with the setup. I finally got a second monitor to match my first and plopped them both on a dual monitor stand. Underneath that I've got a Quirky Space Bar that acts as a USB hub that powers my 3DS dock, USB speakers, cables to charge my controllers, and connects my USB DAC to my PC. I've also got my PS4 plugged into the right monitor, out of frame. The thing I'm probably happiest with is the convoluted way that I get both my computer and PS4 to deliver sound alternately to the same pair of headphones and speakers. HDMI carries audio from my PS4 to the right monitor and a 3.5" audio cable brings that to the Line-In port of my sound card. I enabled listening to line-in on my computer, so the output on my PC delivers both devices audio. Then I use my USB DAC to switch between my speakers and headphones as needed; it has a handy button that lets you switch on the fly instead of having to plug and unplug things.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
JonCole replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
There are a lot of situations where you get an overhead or long view of an arena, a fairly good idea of the topography of the enemies, and you can pull using pebbles/throwing knives or jump off of ledges to take an area at your own pace/order. I also feel like the pipe is wide enough that you can go through certain areas via different paths or in different directions, some of which really favor a slow methodical pace and others that tap into the risk/reward of a faster playstyle. That said, there do seem to be more enemies/groups that require decisive moves or at least you're well rewarded for being aggressive. However, I don't really think that's so different from Dark Souls but again my experience is limited. -
Also, Sweden is awesome. I need to finish that series, I watched a few episodes then I forgot about it.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
JonCole replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I didn't play enough DS to give an informed critique re: weapon variety, but I will say that the transformations feel like a massive evolution in the series. I basically never wanted to uses two-handed weapons in DS and this game finally let me mess around with the idea. I also feel like the limited weapon variety actually encouraged me to try more of the weapons just due to the fact that it wasn't as daunting to do so. I feel like the pace of Bloodborne encourages parrying and backstabbing in a meaningful way. It was too easy in DS to just hide behind a 100% phys resist shield and get through much (though obviously not all) of the game on pure attrition. I think the lack of a shield and the necessity to learn how to move better means that the difficulty curve is much easier to manage in Bloodborne just by the function of you being forced to learn the battle system of the game. That said, this seems to favor new players more than veterans; I'm sure if you were comfortable with DS you'd be a lot more comfortable trying new, better things in subsequent games. -

I haven't played in a couple weeks and decided to hop back in on a whim, took out Darkbeast Paarl on my first attempt today (it was like the fourth attempt overall). I'm back! -
The thread is titled "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity" because the conversation isn't actually about ethics because GG isn't about ethics. It's ironic. There is no worthwhile ethical discussion to be had with relation to that article, all you're saying is that the writer is biased. Bias != lack of ethics. Also, I don't think that anyone here is interested in discussing Eron's character as much as they're interested in recognizing that Eron is a piece of human garbage.

I just entered the open enrollment period of my employer's insurance policy. I forgot how much of a nightmare this stuff is to think about and deal with. Maybe I should actually go to the doctor sometime so this isn't a total waste.
