  1. He is one with the Scoops, you might say. Or two with the Two Scoops, as it were.

Agreed. I think it falls firmly into that "feel" factor to peripherals... ~20 grams of deviation may seem trivial, but getting the mouse to have the "just right" acceleration is pretty damn nice.
  3. Wait, episode 4.18 and 4.19 are only extended on the blu-ray? Maybe I'll have to netflix it. Edit: Oh, god, no... Netflix doesn't have it. Goodbye, $20 at the very least. =/

    I believe it's a five activations/month system, though I can't find a support article stating it.

In a quick search, I'm seeing £8.75 but I can't find it in €... either way, looks like they're pricing fairly internationally. Hope that helps!

I'm not really aware if there are still "problems", but this kind of benchmarking falls pretty cleanly into the "HXC FATAL1TY GAMERZ PWN JOO ASSES" territory as far as I'm concerned. I've never really felt any noticeable lag or lack of responsiveness in laser mice, personally, or I never cared to acknowledge them. However, I do tend to respect opinions like not liking the "feel" of something, I just can't help but think that benchmarking like this is a quick and easy scapegoat for confirmation of a particular group's opinion. On a slightly less... confrontational note, I got a chance to play with one of Microsoft's new BlueTrack mice and I think I'm into it. I've been considering upgrading my laptop mouse (while the one I have is nice, it's only 3-button), so I might give the Wireless Mobile Mouse 5000 a shot.
  7. Watching Battlestar Galactica for the first time... looks like I'll be done with two seasons by the end of the week. I'm so fucking addicted to this show, it's definitely in my top five of all time.
  8. iPhoning it in

So, I decided to reveal my status as a typical consumer and purchase an iPod touch and I thought a horrible headline would make a good title for this thread. I've picked up a lot of the commonly discussed iPhone games and I was just wondering, are there any iPhone/iPod Touch owners around here? And if so, do you know of any decent apps/games that I need to check out? So far, I've got: - Droplitz - Fieldrunners - Flight Control - GeoDefense/GD Swarm - Geared - I Dig It - MGS Touch - TapDefense - Tetris - Topple - Wolfenstein RPG

I think the asynchronous nature of the game is pretty complementary to how I play... I imagine I'd win more Scrabble games if there wasn't usually a 3 minute time limit to my turns. Also, I'm not going to get cocky... I had toblix over a barrel in my last game with him, but this time we're going neck and neck and he's pretty damn good at controlling the board.
  10. I got maybe 10 minutes into Pripyat, encountered some bandits, and got fucked up in less than five seconds. I am... not used to this kind of game.

Actually looking at the deal page, it says that it starts tomorrow. I didn't really pay much attention seeing as I'm still deliberating as to whether or not I want to buy it.

@IdleThumbs If you don't mind buying through Microsoft, Batman: AA is on sale for $12, and it's a fantastic PC version http://j.mp/9TBeVi @jonac13 @IdleThumbs Since it's being sold on GFWL, I'm safe to assume it has achievements, yes? @IdleThumbs Yes, for those who care, the PC version of Batman does have Live achievements. Also great support for both keyboard/mouse and 360 controller

Yup, that soft, stretchy coating was clearly a mistake. I can see why they thought it was a good idea because it does initially feel good on the hand, but after a couple months it turns to shit. I think that the DPI settings aren't really that confusing, especially in Logitech's newer mice. For me, I only regularly use two settings, 1600 dpi and 2400 dpi, the former for regular computer use and the latter for gaming. And furthermore, I don't see how it can be confusing since it almost always takes one button press to change DPI on the fly.
  14. Mass Effect 2

Well, the reason I didn't mention problems is that I bought the 360 version. Guilt absolved!
  15. Down in the Zone (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)

Yeah, I'd be curious to know if it's worth checking out Pripyat if I've yet to play the other Stalker games...
  16. Mice for gamers.

I really don't know what you guys are talking about. I typically use my mouse at the 2400 dpi setting and it doesn't move so fast that my human brain can't comprehend it. Unless, of course, I'm an unactivated sleeper cell Cylon and should really crank up my mouse to it's maximum 3200 dpi for truly optimal gaming.
  17. Mice for gamers.

I think the most recent iteration, which is the G500 I mentioned (I believe), is a bit more stylish.
  18. Mice for gamers.

I used them MX518 for years and loved it, but it sorta fell by the wayside simply due to wear and tear. I'm now using a G9, which is another excellent Logitech mouse. Might want to hold your finger from the trigger if you're wary of price, though, as Amazon tends to put sales on the mice in concert with Logitech rebate promos. I've seen G9's go as low as $40 and G500's go for $30, so it might be worth waiting on.
  19. I'll be there, just a little bit late. See you guys soon.

Apparently everyone loves the Indie Bundle so much that they can't bother to check if it's already posted.
  21. BioShock 2

So I'm almost two hours in and I'm having a great time. I'm finding myself really reveling in the audiodiaries and environments quite a bit... I think anyone who said that this game looks exactly like Bioshock is totally off base.
  22. Mass Effect 2

    Marek really loves being lonely.
  23. Recently completed video games

Might I ask what you didn't like about the "final part"? Because I thought that story-wise, Assassin's Creed II did a great job with the ending. The combat wasn't perfect, but it also wasn't blown completely out of proportion like some games do with final boss battles.

Pretty awesome deal, $25 for Fallout 3 GOTY on D2D. Also, Command & Conquer Classics (Tiberian Sun, Firestorm, Tiberian Dawn, and Red Alert) have just gone free. Also also, "The Indie Bundle" just recently went live, which is a $20 deal for And Yet It Moves, Auditorium, Aztaka, Eufloria, Machinarium, and Osmos.
  25. Fable 3

I think the funniest thing about Peter Molyneux is that he tries to hype up every one of his games at their ultimate expense. I honestly think that both Fable and Fable 2 were totally entertaining and satisfying, but if I paid attention to Molyneux before the fact my hopes would have been crushed.
