I dunno, I heard that the final map/game mode would be released today, but it still seems super-late to be introducing new shit. I'm hoping they give it another week or so.
-
If you could drop me an IM too, I'd be happy to join in (if I'm not otherwise occupied).

I just finished logging my PS3, Wii, and GC games... felt a little cumbersome, but that's not too bad. But adding my DS, PC, and 360 games... that might be a real job. >.<

I completely ignore Amazon's Kindle service in favor of Amazon's Audible service, but I fully endorse all of the things you typed. Maybe when I get an iPad I'll start caring more about eBooks. =/

I don't like digging up 6 month old threads and that's all I could find after a quick search. I'll definitely consider using that site, though... looks useful, at the very least to put things in perspective.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna tackle Batman this week before Red Dead comes out, since it's as short as it is. As far as Borderlands goes, if you have it for PC, Squid, I could hop in if you have any particular trouble. It's been a while, but a couple of my characters are sufficiently built up to help with at least the first half of the game or so.

Alright, done. And for those of you shopping for it... Amazon's giving out $20 gift cards with preorder and Buy.com has it for $46.

In a completely lazy move, I just want to ask... should I buy this? I'm really not a huge Rockstar guy; I played through GTA4 for like... 5 hours and gave up on it, since then I've only played for Grand Thumbs. The talk I've heard about it has been fairly positive, and if the Thumbs community is going to be collectively playing this that seems reason enough to check it out. Also, if I should get it, what console are you guys going to be playing on?
-
You should definitely check this stuff out if you were into Fallout 3; they're practically a whole new game on their own.
-
Yeah, the more I play through this, the more I agree. It definitely adds a little context to the ridiculous, testosterone-laden Modern Warfare games... moral superiority superiority seems to be their forte. I didn't even notice that! Nope.

This is not an uncommon strategy. I bought my girlfriend plenty of games long before she was able to play them; after I bought my new video card, I slapped my 8800GT into her machine so she could now catch up on great games like Mass Effect and Bioshock.

Well, I finally beat Darksiders. Really well executed game, especially for a studio's first game. Each of the weapons felt well implemented despite limited applications, unlike annoying Zelda tropes like the spinning gear top or whatever. And while the world and plot weren't anything mindblowing, each boss and corresponding segment of the world felt distinct and well defined. Great game overall - had I played it before the end of last year, I think it would have made my top 10 of 2009. Now I'm working on Call of Duty 2, which is really feeling completely old compared to more recent first person shooters. Not to mention the fact that playing COD games on Veteran is just asking for forceful penetration.

Spam. It was a copy-pasta of what someone said on the first page, in response to someone who questioned my creation of this thread.

I'm up for it, just set a time. Also, if I'm playing, which I'll be wont to do, feel free to party up.

Seconded. I really enjoyed it AND the added benefit is that the episodes are always short, about 30 - 40 minutes a pop. Most podcasts (gaming podcasts, at least) like hanging out at the dreadful 1.5 - 3 hour range, which is just ridiculous.

Since you mention both of these, I have to mention Radio Lab, considering the fact that all three of these (your two and mine) are common contributors to TAL. For good reason.

In reading a little bit of the backlog of this thread, I quickly realized that I never finish any games. The last one that I feel I completely finished was Mass Effect 2 (or the Johto half of Pokemon SoulSilver, for whatever that's worth). Now, inspired by this, I'm on a quest to beat Darksiders. It's a pretty sweet game, so I don't think it'll be too big of a problem.

Since I've got Summer Holidays coming up soon, I'll be fully in "drop me a message when you want to play and I'll probably party up" mode. Though, as a rule, weekdays + later the better is a good rule of thumb.

I'm too poor to afford expensive meats and brands, so I usually just buy Publix (SE United States Grocery Brand) Virginia ham at... I guess 2/5 thickness, on your scale? Usually, I'm pretty much an "eat whatever is in the fridge" kind of guy, then I splurge on bread and cheese because that stuff is multi-purpose (good for different kinds of hot subs and stuff that I might make).
-
Is anyone else playing this? Also, is anyone crazy addicted to the Pokewalker? Also also, has anyone conceived a method at cheating their Pokewalker? I mean... I'm definitely not any of these things.

Oh, god, I hope that it just fainted. Please tell me that it just fainted. On a more serious note, I managed to dig this up on the US Nintendo Store site, if you hoped for the chance of a replacement: http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=166708¤cy=USD&catalogId=10001&tranId=0&lastAction=setCurr&storeId=10001&languageId=-1&categoryId=&ddkey=http:SetCurrencyPreference
