Her Benevolence - Longview, Hidden Hand, Injection Mold, Unflinching. Her Benevolence has one of the best AA in the class, plus high enough impact to snipe through revive overshields, Radiant Skin Sunsingers, etc. Longview and Hidden Hand add more AA while Injection Mold and Unflinching add more Stability.

I have the day off tomorrow and of course the weekend. I can play just about any time during the day here (afternoon/night for you) as long as I know about it ahead of time. I'd actually like to cancel tonight, as I'm going out for drinks after work and will probably not be playing at the top of my game as a result.

Once you're at a higher level (I don't know what level it is, but I'm pretty sure 30 qualifies) the Strike and Crucible playlists will have a chance of dropping Exotic and Legendary weapons. Also, the vendors do sell weapons as well though for quite a bit more marks than the armor. Vasari - I saw you joined the POE session on the100 but then backed out. Is some other day/time better for you?

We've kinda been vaguely planning a Crota run, we would have done it last weekend but we didn't have enough people show up that had CE so we did VOG HM. I'm sure that some of us are still looking forward to playing Crota together, I don't see why you wouldn't be welcome. And if you add me, I'd be perfectly willing to run POE with you though 32 would be pretty tough at LL30. That said, if you have any Vanguard/Crucible marks rolling around you'd quickly level up by buying vendor gear. This week is a good week to start playing again if you enjoy Crucible at all, Iron Banner is currently going and the rewards are pretty solid. Haha, that's great. I actually noticed that they don't force you to watch the end-game cinematic anymore when you run the Black Garden quest (it was the Daily Heroic last week), which shows that they're moving in the right direction.

The Roman II on it just means that it's an item that came out with the latest expansion. Doesn't require the deprecated upgrade materials. Also, level 28 means you can do VOG Normal Mode. We should do that sometime!

Viking Funeral isn't really worth taking if you don't also have Ignite. If you're running Skin, you should probably also take Will. I don't think Flame Shield stacks, there's only one layer of overshield.

If we have access to all of our weapons/Brawler, we can clear ads faster and self-res should hopefully be unnecessary. It might even be worth it to take Radiant Skin so you can tank a mine cap. If we're all running Light Beyond Nemesis/Alpha Lupi, we should be able to produce plenty of orbs for each other. Also, with Lightswitch off we can melee to trigger Flame Shield/Force Barrier for extra tankiness. Basically, the modifier roll was really what screwed us and I'm pretty confident that we can do it this week.

Yeah, the problem was that as soon as the mine dismantling happened we'd make a mad rush towards the mine but there were a few guys standing on it. With Small Arms, my 365 Found Verdict might have taken out a single guy standing on the capture point but not three. With Lightswitch, all it took was one enemy standing to melee me to death in about a second. That said, I think that Small Arms is a cute, interesting way to teach the Skolas fight. This week will indeed probably be easier, but Small Arms kinda forces you to trudge through each phase of the fight to actually learn everything. I also think it might be a decent idea for me to do the fight as my Defender next time around, the bubble + Blessing of Light might make the mine dismantling doable. If we roll with the same team, might be good for Vasari to go Bladedancer so he can invis revive/cap points.

I have a wake-up light, it simulates morning sunrise with a gradual increase up to the point when you want to wake up. Doesn't work for everyone, but I do know it helps a lot of people with seasonal sleeping issues.

You guys have been down on MBMBAM on the Other Podcasts thread, but good god I am paralyzed with laughter watching this crazy Polygon video with Justin and Griffin.

YOU MUST BUILD A BOAT

Two 42 light and two 36 light will get you to 33. You can get your second from POE32, which would give you a chest this week (this one is pretty good, bonuses for Fallen POE rounds which will eventually help with Skolas). You could try running POE 34 with two 34s like Zeus did for an Etheric. You can also get Etheric from Nightfalls or Trials of Osiris (6 wins, 8 wins, flawless). The easiest possible way is to just repeatedly get Armor Cores from POE32. Also, I got my second flawless from ToO this week! This map is really nice for various playstyles and it's actually a fairly balanced map (symmetrical). The key is to almost never go inside the building, always go outside to where the final point is. You have way more sightlines for sniping, which is really solid on this map. Shotguns are not as great, but okay if you push that point and let them come to you. In the worse case you can just hold the point for 2 minutes. I actually won two rounds by both teams being reduced to one guy, one guy going for the revives and me going for the capture for an easy win.

Very slick! Also keep in mind that you could potentially do a Judgment's Chance with your Armor Core and Weapon Core for a random roll at an armor or weapon. Can always run 32 POE without an insane amount of trouble when you need it. Now I want to do POE 34 on all my characters, totally didn't know it was still that boss. He's definitely one of the better ones to go against (aka he's basically the only one I don't hate fighting). I won't be around tonight, but if anyone wants to attempt it tomorrow night before reset I'd be down.

Sorry about the guy I brought in, if he had offered to help rather than just joining up I would have said no. He's in the clan I'm in so I can't really unfriend him, but god is he the fucking worst (person, he's half decent at the game but also he thinks he's better than he is). Also, that was the first time I ran relic on templar (I think I did okay?), first time I ran relic on Atheon (I think I did okay there too?) and RNGesus was weirdly generous but in the worst way because I got my second Mythoclast, second Found Verdict, and second Aspect of Glass. At least I got a nice little class item, though. And it's always good playing with you guys. Is Zasa someone from the Thumbs forums or is he just in the clan?

Thanks for the advice and feedback, friends. It really helped me think about all this stuff and I definitely needed a break if even for a few hours, so I went to the pet store to stock up on supplies and toys, went to dinner with my wife, chilled out, bashed my head against some Destiny, and everything feels a lot better. I was actually ranting a little bit to my wife shortly after I wrote my post (I didn't mention that I wrote it) and she said "you really shouldn't read Twitter after things like this, post to the Idle Thumbs forum or something where cooler heads prevail." She kinda stalks the forums a little bit because she likes some of the social justice-related threads here, but posting is not really her thing. Just thought you all should know that you have a good reputation in my house.

Forgive me, but I need to get some thoughts out and please feel free to tear me down if I deserve it. I just don't quite know how to process some of the thoughts I'm feeling today. Despite so much good social justice shit happening (in the scheme of things), I can't help but feel a little hopeless in other ways, as though everything is cheapened by this propensity to just social justice SO HARD or be just SO CYNICAL about everything. For instance, a bunch of anti-capitalist people (for whom I identify with) are shitting on brands/companies that have adapted their logos to make light of the gay marriage decision today at the Supreme Court. They're saying that by doing this, they're just trying to make a quick buck because it'll improve their brand image, or something like that. Which is undoubtedly true, which is undoubtedly part of the business strategy of these companies. But isn't it also possible that the company culture actually does support these broad cultural victories? Also, is it really bad that various huge companies are outwardly showing support for gay marriage? Like, isn't a potential good outcome of this that other smaller companies might be a little more tolerant on the whole of queer folk if they see that other companies have a pro-LGBTQ stance? (Edit: I want to stress that there are really, really shitty things happening with some brands, I saw Chipotle's "Homo Estas?" thing and it's so bad. But I'm saying that other companies have just updated their logo, tweeted a #LoveWins thing and haven't made a big deal about it. Can't see the harm there.) On another hand, Obama just delivered from what I could understand (I haven't been able to watch the clip, I'm at work) is a beautiful eulogy for one of the victims of the Charleston massacre. He's also looking super good because of the victory in upholding ACA/Obamacare in the Supreme Court as well as marriage equality as it was a pillar of his election campaign. Everyone is SO IN LOVE WITH HIM RIGHT NOW. But for me, Obama has just been so disappointing for years when it comes to war, trade, etc. I understand the political cycle, that he is much more able to make liberal moves in the latter half of his second term, but it still strikes me as shitty that his values only extend so far until reality means that he has to make a shitty choice. I mean, just last week he scored a major victory by allying himself with Republican Congressmen and Senators in passing Trade Promotional Authority, which is paving the path for a trade deal that will certainly mean that we will throw more money than ever to countries with absolutely no worker's rights. How is that responsible? So basically, everything is either way too cynical or way too shiny and happy. I just can't stand how we can only seem to be focused on one thing at a time. Either capitalism sucks or capitalism is a potential tool for social change. Social change is good, unless a brand acknowledges it in which as it's bad. A politician is great because he scored a lot of points lately, but if you look at his career as a whole he probably just breaks even or gets a little bit in the green on social justice. Anyways, I'm just so conflicted and bothered by all this shit. Anyone have any thoughts on my essay?
