Nothing specific man, but I am curious about the gameplay. I found Spore pretty rough and the videos for Darkspore make it look like they changed approximately nothing.

Have you ever played a game based on a franchise you don't really know?
Irishjohn replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Yes, most definitely. I'll sign up for STALKER and Metro 2033 (though I have yet to play it), and I would definitely like to get into some of those books. The Witcher I'm not so sure. I played The Witcher being vaguely aware of books but having no idea if the game was even all that closely related to the books. Does that count? -
Is it just Europe or does PSP have a ton of Digital Download only games?
Irishjohn replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
The only ones of which I am aware are the Playstation Minis. There was one zombie one at one point and now Angry Birds. Otherwise I don't notice them. As for downloadable games, I love them. I love the format. Steam has ruined my life by drawing me back into playing PC games in a big way! -
Man, I have to go back and play this game. I remember encountering those dragons as a bit of a magical moment really early in the game.

I would be horrified but I'm just numb now. So, so numb.
-
I played the first game years ago and all I remember is the art style. Really makes me want to go back and play all of them.

Congratulations, I switched to Android myself a few months ago and I'm really happy. I actually had an iPhone before that but I've never liked playing games on these touchscreens I'm afraid. I would keep my eye on Android and Me if you don't already. The site's awash with news of new phones right now, but it's normally a nice site for Android news and apps, and there's a games section on the site.

I got it in the sale and will probably tackle it in a little while, after I've made some more hay in Fallout 3. I wouldn't rush though, it seems like the lukewarm reviews won't help and the game strikes me as one that needs decent word out there with RPG and dragon-loving types. I would think the price will drop again. Anyway, it's not like Steam will never reduce the price on the game again.

Yup, damn Steam and their awesome sales. I have an insane backlog now. I should probably just sell my consoles at this point.
-
It would be pretty sweet. Maybe Blizzard will do a Sega style "available...... now!" at Blizzcon.

I think it's awesome. So did someone on the forum nominate the podcast?
-
I mean you should buy it because you will like it. Not because you should like it! No elitists around here.
-
Yeah, if you visit this forum, and you don't own that game, and your computer can run it... you should totally buy that game.

I'm just sad because I just realised that I will never play any of the Mass Effect 2 DLC. Or I will certainly not play it before I will listen to these podcasts. I really like the bombcast, though I can see where people are coming from to a certain extent. Jeff has a very early 1990s sensibility, to the point where it can be irrelevant to me. I don't care about fighting games at all. I have more in common with him when it comes to liking racing games but not to a big technical extent. Jeff and Ryan both tend to rate games on the basis that the person buying the games can afford to play all games and then have the time to play them all. Vinny is the best at acknowledging that we can't all afford every game we ever feel like playing. I still like listening to the guys though, I think they do great podcasts. Does make me long for a one-off thumbs goty discussion.

I don't know about the bugs these days, and the game definitely gave me frustrating moments, but for five quid I would pick it up for sure.

Gah! In my own signature! I can't give it the best of 2010, but Enslaved was really fantastic. I really can't recommend it highly enough.
-
I wish I could say Metro 2033 and Fallout: New Vegas but I haven't played them yet! I really liked Alan Wake, I played a ton of Starcraft 2, and Red Dead Redemption was amazing. Best game of 2010 for me though, has to be Mass Effect 2.

This is actually a very compelling one sentence review. I got Amnesia a couple of weeks ago but I've been waiting for my new computer to play it. Not sure why, as my current computer could handle it just fine, but I'm hoping the better audio will freak the crap out of me in the dark.

Yeah, the Fable games are weird. I'm not even going near Fable 3, to be honest. I liked the first one quite a lot, although it was a fairly massive let-down compared to what it was supposed to be. Fable 2 was ok, but I didn't see what all the fuss was about at all. I do wonder how these games get decent reviews. I really believe that not having to pay for your games, or at least not having to budget them into a life with other expenses, colours how some reviews pan out. I mean, a lot of us on this forum will drop a fair bit of money on a game that doesn't review all that well but is an interesting experience, but that doesn't mean we can all play everything. I certainly can't. I look at Fable 3 and I just don't see why I should blow the sixty dollars on it.

Sure, I'm ready when you are.

I'm in, using my forum name.

Walker completely lost me when he made it clear he was going to spend the article being a pretentious poker fan. For my skill level (low) this is a very fun game. I am really enjoying it. I think most people that have played the game are enjoying it, from what I hear on forums, twitter, etc. Obviously that doesn't mean nobody can criticize the game, but the game does seem to be doing what it says on the tin, which for five dollars is decent going. So... I'm really not sure I see the point of that article at all.

I'm glad you started the thread. I haven't played this game but I'm really interested in giving it a shot. It might be a Christmas holiday game for me.

But I thought that the West Coast is the "Best" Coast, right? I'm confused. Congrats Steve!

Cool, thanks man. I had been wondering about building extra hatcheries actually. My Zerg macro is getting better though I haven't played in a week. I was starting to get into a decent rhythm with the queens, but I think a couple extra early to spread creep and defend is a good idea.
