The ship collecting is great. It gives your little nuggets of reward amongst the crushing failures. I'm having a bit of an issue with how samey the fights can be, Especially early on, and then again once your ship and crew have matured near the end. I feel the need to drag out the earlier portions to get more loots, but those same portions are the least engaging.

I'm reading that as a sexy metaphor brannigan. Feste, the game is a roguelike ( in spirit and gameplay, if not in setting). It's intention was never to let you win, just toy with your emotions until you die horribly cursing it's name.

Upgrade your doors as well. They take much longer to break through, and they have some extra power levels to help them not get knocked out in a battle.

They shorten the names for display. I think its actually a nickname, since i spotted one that wasn't a shortening, but slightly different (ChrisZ or something).

I have yet to find the betrayer (would you really let him on your ship? would you not be worried he would just up and leave?) I have however found a little Mantis named Remo.

Ditto on the pod, but i've just picked it up again in my new game. There is also options every so often to booby trap a becon. I assume that slows down the rebels. You can also hire mercenaries to slow them down, which will completely stop them for one turn.
