This is what i made tonight in gamemaker. The red boss is meant to move to the blue player, but instead moves to his health bar. hmmmm. Also, in the background is my re-imagining of Mary Had A Little Lamb. I probably should join that IRC channel to show off my amazing stuff.

You in Ireland or the UK then? My usual view out over the city is marred by some giant dark spots where the power is gone. I'm so glad its not me, they are not expecting it back till tomorrow. My gate got blown ourwards by the wind, but for me that is the worst of it luckily! There is some crazy pics around the place of roofs getting taken off buildings.

I did the code academy for python and i thought it was pretty neat. Sometimes the solution won't register even though it is correct, so just head over to the forums and you should be able to copy and paste the exact solution it is expecting. I'm spending 30 mins with gamemaker every night if i can. So far i can move a snake on a grid and draw a health bar.

I had a thumbs dream last night, but can't remember it. A few weeks ago I had a thumbs dream where the thumbs and I and a man who looked like my uncle were there. Mostly we talked about how remarkably like my uncle the man looked.

Yes, I imagine a lot of it is this. My sis in law kept telling me a while back I should have applied for Havok in Dublin though (her friend works here). Could have been interesting, but back then i thought you could only get jobs if you actually knew all the skills they were looking for, rather than walk in and bullshit your way to success and so i was too scared to apply. I do like maths.

I love cooking, but I would never want to be a chef. The thought of Having to cook makes my skin creep. I cook to relax, and entertain and to get delicious foods in my belly. Similarly, I wouldn't like to make video games for a living. The thoughts of dissecting the very thing I love is not at all appealing. Instead, i dissect engineering and maths problems and very much enjoy it. That said, farting around in gamemaker is fun. I solved a problem last night!

Decide to do something and then figure out how to do it. You will probably fail many times, and succeed many times before hitting on a very good solution, but at the end of it to sure will have learned how to so some research on solving problems. Then start working on the next problem. You'll be quicker.
