  1. Plug your shit

Voted for Chris and rightfully so, though I like the idea of resisting Satan. He is clearly a force that needs to be resisted.
  2. Gifts - Stuff for Free

I expect it's the free Torchlight that is given away when you pre-order Torchlight The Second.
  3. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 6!

Dark Blue? I am he, my internet went down for a few days and all I could do was put my empire in the hands of the AI, which never quite works out... Maybe I could have won, who knows? I definitely felt that I had a chance, and was trying my best not to deceive anyone.
  4. Gifts - Stuff for Free

I'd be extremely grateful if you could gift me that, never really got a chance to play it.
  5. Life

Man, that pretty much sucks to be on that side. I've always wondered about the potential of making FaceBook games, but slightly put off by my own distinct hatred for them.
  6. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 6!

Would love to be involved, did try and be a part of a couple old games but circumstances prevented. However, now they do not, huzzah!
  7. Life

This thread reminds me that all the people on this thread are like, actual people. I don't really have anything to talk about at the minute, but congratulations subbes, that's bloody great speedy, and sorry to hear that Kroms.
  8. Non-video games

Pretty much. Or, more literally, I think they don't really appreciate non-video games, it was only the mirth of this that attracted them to it.
  9. "Adults Should Read Adult Boobs" - Joel Stein

"Any person who agrees to rub their breasts on national tv is clearly inexcusably disturbed." Best.
  10. Non-video games

I downloaded and cut out a whole bunch of "Cards Against Humanity" cards and played a few rounds with friends today. On the whole it was very funny and enjoyable, that's the humour that most of my friends enjoy as wrong as it is. Though now I have hesitations into moving onto something else, I get the feeling that they were more into the hilarity of the game than what I enjoy (the togetherness type thing) so I'm not sure they'll really enjoy anything else. But on the plus side, Cards Against Humanity went well.
  11. First time listener so didn't think it would be good to jump into the PAX show straight away, but on the whole I thoroughly enjoyed the cast and thought there were some very interesting discussions that highlighted just what was going on in Crusaders even without me ever playing it, so I kind of related to it even if I didn't really know. That's the best.
  12. Non-video games

So if anyone could help I'd be super into board games and other such non-video games, but obviously that requires other people to play with, and unfortunately, not many of my friends are into anything too deep (so, for example, I looked at Small World, which sounds fun, but is probably too... oh I don't even know how to describe it, it requires investment I suppose?) So I'm now looking for a way that I could get them interested in the concept with something a bit simpler. I was thinking maybe 'Apples to Apples', and possibly 'Cards Against Humanity' what with them being very similar in concept. Does anyone else have any ideas?
  13. Shadowrun Kickstarter

Quite tempted to invest actually, it sounds like a cool idea and I'd be interested in seeing some more of the Shadowrun universe (I've never played any of the games or read any of the novels, but the premise intrigues me.) Though I'll very strongly vouch for the FPS, I thought it was cool as hell, in fact, I almost spearheaded a campaign to try and raise awareness of it, but things changed and I lost internet connection for a couple months. I am slightly worried about this influx of Kickstarters though, I love the idea of a developer being able to stray away from publishers and investors with their hordes of money and ridiculous deadlines, but at the same time, I can't help but feel some people are abusing the system by using it when there's no real need to, and potentially stopping the production of other games that could be great.
  14. Gifts - Stuff for Free

I'd take the orange box off of you just to play the Half Lifes, but I'm too lazy and probably wouldn't end up playing them anyway, so probably better for someone who will.
  15. Plug your shit

I think the post was definitely a good thing, though a bit poetic in nature, which isn't always the obvious choice, but it still works well as a little standalone piece, probably not something you want to do too frequently though.
  16. Plug your shit

So as a result of Drath posting about his indie roguelike Wayward and my wanting to move into a new field of entertainment on YouTube, he agreed to allow me to interview him and put it on teh interwebz! This is the result, and hopefully also the start of a great new series. tTK_57qmoEk Your thoughts and criticisms are much appreciated.
  17. Recently completed video games

I suppose I 'beat' Skyrim, well I'm done with it for the foreseeable future anyway, unless I decide to pick it up on PC and mess around with some mods. All in all, thoroughly enjoyed it, was going for all the trophies (PS3) but Silus didn't spawn and stopped me from getting all the daedric artefacts, other than that, music was great, graphics were beautiful, gameplay was typically RPG with a bit of added spice in the animations and execution of some mechanics. Storyline was probably Skyrim's weakest point, that or bugs, but it managed to keep me interested, even if I did think that the civil war was a waaaay more interesting concept.
  18. Thumbs of Legends

Do you guys often play while chatting on via mics? Because I can see that being more useful to a novice like me
  19. Thumbs of Legends

I'd love to get back into League of Legends, or rather, advance from being a complete idiot at it and become at least half decent. Put me down for the team and I'll be on regularly.
  20. Edited

    Snap'd, crackl'd and pop'd.
  21. The Binding of Isaac

Well this thread, combined with Giant Bomb's first look, tempted me to buy the game as it seemed super fun. I played it some and lo' and behold, I was right! It's odd to me that just a couple videos of this game made me give in and buy it, there's many games that I've wanted but have restrained myself from buying, I even went the extra mile and bought the soundtrack, which is even more obscene to me keeping in mind that I've never bought music in my life. Maybe it was just the low price that made me succumb, either way, I'm happy that I did. This post comes after just two games, both of which I got to Mom, only on the second run (as Cain) did I beat her. I'm probably going to go off and play some more now.
  22. V The Elder Scrolls

That is possibly the most inspiring thing I have ever seen from a developer, I'm currently playing through on the PS3 due to not having a good enough computer when the game released, though now that I have a better one, I look forward to re-buying and playing through Skyrim again but with mods. If they haven't already, I'd love to see all of these implemented into the game somehow. Also, I've encountered two really awful bugs that really ruin the atmosphere and often just make me hate participating in certain quests. The first comes from the city or Markarth. Following the quest concerning Cidnha Mine, it's no longer possible to visit the city without being attacked by every guard. My bounty is too high to be paid off, so the guards insist that I must be sent to the prison, unfortunately the prison doesn't exist any more/ has been made redundant so the conversation just loops until I back out or initiate a fight with the guards. This makes quests where I have to have a conversation with anyone inside the city a nightmare. The second is linked to the first. Farkas from the companions is scripted as a guard (supposedly) so will constantly chase the player if they have a bounty in any hold. Because I have no way to eliminate my bounty, Farkas will constantly follow me and converse with me if he gets within five feet, this made the entire Companions quest line about 5x harder (as Farkas would often distract me while I was fending off my opponents, and he would never attack anyone.) There's even been times when, despite me being near Riften and Farkas still near Jorrvskar, I could not fast travel because "Guards were chasing me." Fortunately, the Companions quest line is behind me and I'm at a high enough level, with good enough spells, that I can survive an onslaught from the Markarth guards while I chat with a NPC, but it's still annoying that I had to go through all of that, they're the only things that have caused me to actually just turn the game off and walk away.
  23. Want to make a video game...

Or more appropriately, would like to know how to make a video game. See, thing is, I've long been a fan of the medium, and listening to various podcasts and the like makes me want to get in on the whole "indie games" scene, not in a way that makes me seem like a greedy corporate capitalist, but in a way that would enable me to have fun making a video game and see how other people like it. I've put a reasonable amount of thought into this, and I've decided that I am probably in the most comfortable position to make a game as anyone can be, with being so young, I don't have a job to tie me down time-wise, and I don't need to pay to keep a roof over my head. So basically it boils down to "how?" rather than any other question. I don't really have any experience in a programming language or such that would help perform such a task, but I have constructed websites with HTML, obviously this is only useful to prove that I am somewhat adept at learning these things. I ask of you, my fellow thumbs, to just point me in the right direction here, give me advice and the like, I'd be extremely grateful for anything that you have to offer, whether it simply be just a nudge forwards or otherwise. TL;DR, N00B WANTS TO MAKE VIDEO GAME, N00B WANTS YOUR HELP.
  24. V The Elder Scrolls

Was Oblivion also played on the PS3? I don't expect anyone on here to shout and swear over opinions on a video game, but I find that Skyrim creates a much stronger world for me to experience. It's little things like the unscripted conversation between a mother and daughter concerning where they're eating the same night, or some other such mundane point of interest. However, and I've been contemplating this a lot lately, perhaps the story and setting of this game resonates with me as someone from Northen England. I find that often we as a culture are rather hostile to foreigners, much like the Nords, and often we face similar troubles (North East England is known to have the highest rates of unemployment, for example.)
