with robot babies it's less a matter of stink, and more of a matter of radioactivity.

I thought Future Big Dog was the Big Dog that'd be killing us.
-
Big dog seems like it'd make for a slow uncomfortable ride.

Like becoming the fourth (fifth?) Idle Thumb. A man can dream damnit!

Oh great, now in our robot enslaved future we won't even be able to play with rubik's cubes because those things will have taken them all.

Ten years seems like a long time to make a deal with any publisher in the game industry. After ten years your contract will be with a totally different company, a company that in that time could have turned evil, returned to good, then evil, then neutral, then evil again!

I got the Descents off GOG fairly recently, and when I played the same thought occurred to me. But when I think of AI Descent stands above even Half-Life. While I have no doubt that Half-Life's AI is more sophisticated, the Descent series's AI created a wider variety of experiences. For one thing I cannot think of a single game before or since in which enemies could stage unscripted sneak attacks at any time. It seems to me that the reason we don't see more stuff like this is that FPSs have gotten more linear, with enemies scripted to pop out at certain points along the way. While in Descent the ability of certain enemies to freely navigate the level gave them an opportunity to really surprise you. Edit: I really enjoyed it when I played it for the PS1, but I highly suspect that it has not have aged well.

Or maybe they sent you a super limited edition nuclear-holocaust battle-damage Vault Boy.

I had no idea there was a Descent for the PS1. I hate to sound like an elitist, but playing Descent without a mouse seems like it'd really kill the experience.

Heck as far as I'm concerned this forum moves too fast. Can you all please take it down a notch?
-
I feel like I'm the only person on the planet to have played the original Descent series, please someone tell me I'm wrong.

I wish! I'm out of money from buying inferior art books.
-
I tend to agree, but I have a weakness for art books. Unfortunately most of the time collector's edition art books don't live up to the inflated price.

I played Uncharted 2 everyday for two months after it came out. And I'd love to get back into it with some people who ain't jerks. My PSN username is p-sych Gerbil, you're going to need a headset to be all that you can be, just tell your girlfriend that you're using it for day trading.

I has been a while since I played a game as frustrating as Reset Generation. It's got some good mechanics, but the balancing is way off.

I make a sword and sorcery comic with stuff like nuns practicing super science, divine canines going on romantic pilgrimages, ninjas being violent to children, and a barbarian learning the true meaning of Christmas. It's called 70-Seas. When I'm not doing that I make assorted pretty pictures, and I pull art duty for a couple of indie games, although none of that is ready to show yet.

Like the wild west there are no laws on the moon, the only claim any man can have to land up there is his own ability to defend it.

I found two awesome fantasy comics recently: Imaginary Monsters is the story of a Grizzledude and Dennis the Necromancer, a pair of undead monsters that hang out in a dungeon where occasionally knights wander in and wreak up the place. and Hanna is Not a Boys Name which is about a seemingly unqualified occult investigator, and his growing cadre of hangers-on. No it ain't. Chris Hastings is a totally amateur compared to Ethan Nicolle

Monster is an excellent and suspenseful crime thriller about a doctor who must hunt down a murderer who's life he saved. I can't recommend the first ten volumes highly enough, unfortunately like a lot of manga (as in every one I've read that wasn't a one off or Akira), it is far too long for it's own good.

Yeah, but neither was Speedy so in that way he's perfect. On the other hand I think whoever cast Lopez must have confused talking fast with talking loud. Apocalypse Now, it's got the most gorgeous cinematography I've ever seen.
-
Speedy Gonzales is getting the Garfield/Alvin and the Chipmunks treatment... With George Lopez playing the lead. New Line plans to retool Speedy to make him less of a racist caricature, making him funny or entertaining is probably too much for anyone to ask.

I know it's early, but this game looks like they took all the old Sonic art and passed it through the 'New Super Mario Bros' filter in Photoshop. If that's the way you feel then I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that there's an INTERNET PETITION to do just that.

Two weeks ago they ran a new episode on Cartoon Network that was about Aquaman RVing across America (the DC version of it) with his wife and son. At one point Aquaman actually stumbles upon a fist fight between The Atom and some tiny super villain when they hit the windshield of his camper! So yeah, it's awesome.

Jesus Christ using tits and ass to sell your fucking games

Now that's unfair. Fox news can at least weave a coherent narrative.
