I liked Ben and Catherine's back and forth; this show hasn't let characters just talk like that in a while. Uh, unless you count Truman and Cooper this episode. Cooper did almost nothing of consequence this episode. He recapped the plot with Hawk and Pete. He hugged Truman. But as Lost in the Movies said the supporting characters finally get more than nonsense. Except Leo, who is still being beaten with a flute.

Yes, and this minute-and-a-half of narration is a bad thing while me reading Cyrodiil history for hours on a wiki is a good thing. Your Oblivion character is just some cat/elf/lizard/human person who runs around stealing sweetrolls and shooting fireballs. Patrick Stewart's narration about the oncoming end of the Third Era means nothing to your immediate goals of escaping prison and running around. It's just some dude telling you that this game is meant to be epic. Your second paragraph is a great description of this—I think as long as designers have that spectrum in mind lore can be healthy for everyone except obsessives like me.

It's interesting to contrast Shelly and Josie. Both of them have suffered through comically ridiculous abuse, but when she's at the Double R, Shelly gets to escape from her awful home life. But Josie's only escape happens during brief moments with Truman or her offscreen "shopping trip." When she comes back into Twin Peaks for the final time even those escapes have been piled up with misery. Where's Josie's Double R?

Oh, this has been on my phone for a week and I've neglected to post it. In a recent episode of Idle Thumbs, they mused about a Twin Peaks themed wedding and how teen murder and trauma might not be appropriate for the occasion. Turns out that people have had a Twin Peaks themed wedding and Buzzfeed has the photos. I'm still not sure if it's appropriate but any Maddie Ferguson cosplay is fine with me.

It's so awful. This episode really does ruin Bob for me and to me the character never really recovers.

Ha, I have run ahead and bumped into a new NPC who joined my party. He said, "let's check out this dangerous area!" Instead, I took him back to the first town and am trying to complete the quest I completely avoided until now. I'm having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around how this game works. Most of my battles take place hidden by trees or walls, so I just watch my character portraits go red and that's it.

I wonder if there are any fan patches out there that minimize or eliminate Adam. Jeremy Parish is doing an Anatomy of Metroid Fusion series right now that is pointing out a lot of interesting things that the game does. Adam is not one of those things. But that SA-X! So scary!
