  1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2

The video reveal for Frank West in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom brought back warm fuzzy feelings of the sheer madness and confusion and comedy of playing MvC2 with friends in grade school. Behold!
  2. Borderlands

That whole post (including sig) reads like some split personalities bubbling to the surface.
  3. I was reminded of an old thread

No problem. For future reference, this is what worked for me. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=logs+site:idlethumbs.net/forums&start=20&sa=N The Idle Thumbs archives are an enchanting and terrifying place.
  4. Idle thumbs London meet!

    Manchildren
  5. Just completely give up on trying to explain who is who to people, personally I don't see the issue at all, but you should start episodes with "You're listening to the Idle Thumbs Goldcast, I'm Randy Newman" "I'm Baboo Bredon" "and I'M Videogams Rodkin" or alternatively "You're listening to the Active Toes Wizardcast, I'm Snappy Remo" "I'm Shadow" "and I'M Collosus!"
  6. Mass Effect 2

That's the spirit! Keep your chin up and reach for the stars!

  8. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

They both drop audio logs on the players' face and feature a dude speaking to you over loudspeakers.
  9. Street Fighter IV

There's only one thing that's keeping me interested in the announcement, and it's probably a lost cause.
  10. So I'm not going to be around for a while...

Good luck Wrestle, I'll be rooting for the missus and you (but mostly the missus) from across the pond.
  11. Wizaaaaaards!!

    That's a big wizard.
  12. Books, books, books...

About halfway through Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and I can't really find a single fault. For the unfamiliar, it's part travelogue, part philisophical discourse and just absolutely remarkable page after page. A friend gave it to me as a gift after I bought my first motorcycle so the timing couldn't be better, but really the theme is only there to serve as a solid anchoring point for the concepts that Pirsig puts forth, and to puncuate the ideas so that you're not overwhelmed with near brain melting perspectives on our world and ourselves.Hugely recommended, obviously, though I'm sure everyone has probably read it or heard about it. This is for the few who, like myself, might've let it slip under their radar for far too long.
  13. Borderlands

Eh, I don't blame them, the market is rife with samey fps's, if this is what they have to do to stand out then so be it. God forbid we have a shooter with a sense of humor. (Of course I'm more excited for Serious Sam HD than I am for Modern Warfare 2...)
  14. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Oh neat, that's good to know, thanks.

  16. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Argh, detective vision you bitch! I want to be immersed in my surroundings and enjoy the gorgeous visuals in this game but at the same time I hate missing optional stuff and the things that you allow me to detect ahead of time. What percentage of the game would you guys say you spent with the vision mode on?
  17. Brütal Legend overload...!

He's certainly a lot more subdued than I think a lot of people might be expecting from Jack Black. There's a nice balance hit between the disillusioned old roadie Riggs and the adolescent excitement that would come through in anyone that woke up in the land of metal with a magic guitar, sweet battleaxe, mysterious ladyfriend and a badass hot rod. The thing that really hooked me was the facial expressions, which are spot on and frequently hilarious, so it wouldn't really matter who voiced him or what his motivations are because when a Video game dude has that much personality in his movement alone, I can't help but like him. edit: oh for the love of...
  18. Idle Thumbs 44: Salacious Thumb

Great, now my brain can't process hearing Odious Tea or audio logs without a twinge of Thumbssociation. (Listened for 20mins on the walk to work so far, shaping up to be a good'un, as always. Thanks for the laughs guys)
  19. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story

You can barely call it living at all...
  20. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story

I've never played any of these (still DS-less) but the sprites are adorable.
  21. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

Oh snap! :24 & :43 the goggles are back! I should've known... You shut your mouth before I put a knife through your hand, a bullet in your back and a pistol grip through your teeth.
  22. Yeah, I don't think you need to be a fan of any particular band or artist to be offended by the way they handled the images of folks like Cash (he's trust me, Cash would've wanted it this way) and Cobain (seriously, holy shit). Just a fan of say, music or taste or maybe even class. If the Beatles: RB is a love letter to that band and their music, then GH5 is some kind of anthrax lined letter-bomb.
  23. Lost Planet 2

I am very interested in this game, and while it's not appearing to be as skill/item/timing based as Monster Hunter, the general idea of a highly customizable, pile o' weapons co-operative third-person game is very evocative of that series. While playing the first LP I kept thinking that, while it had a lot of neat ideas, it felt like a very rough first try and I would be looking forward to a sequel. Here we are, and it's looking very nice. Oh, and it's got a grappling hook. I'm game.
  24. Persona 4 Endurance Run

Hearing them talk about the end of the ER on this week's Bombcast makes me worried about finishing P4 myself. Here's hoping I can stretch it out to last until the PSP Persona 3 release. Until then...I'm off to the meat dimension.
