  1. Gods in heaven that cannot be true...

Yeah I know, I was looking for the same video but mentionning rapes and genocides but couldn't find one... BTW, speaking of horrible, Prince of Persia Epilogue will be out soon, and you should definitely try not to see the trailer
  2. (IGN.com)

And you could combine the two for a nice result: "This game is better than taking a leak in a raped baby" IGN.com
  3. (IGN.com)

It doesn't mention slaves nor genocides, I am very offended by the lack of offence in this proposition...
  4. Killzone 2

Well, I'm not saying the level suck, I'm just saying I played the bad ass way and went for the elite first hand, and I found that in elite at least, there is only one possible way... Yeah sure you could try another one but the functional path is really limited. And about the AI, I still don't get how you found it dynamic but might as well be that they just all did the same thing a dozen times the exact same way randomly... CoD wasn't really a super cool game to me (too fucking short and not so sweet multi) but there were a few missions that allowed you a real lot of freedom in the way you interact with your foes that can harldy be denied. And the point about Half Life is that for the whole adventure, you don't feel like you must go that way, you just feel compeled to move that way because Alyx knows the way or because you have to go in that direction... Maybe again it's just me but I never fell trapped in HL2 And Killzone really made me feel like I had no choice of weapon because the rifle is in 80% of the case the weapon of choice...
  5. Right, I wasn't remembering that either but I definitely did it... I thought you got the puzzle wrong because one grenade is actually enough to kill you...

  7. Resi 5

Yep, definitely survival and not horror, sure horrible monsters but the tone of the game is strange... Dunno why but it definitely bothered me. The thing that struck me the most is that they don't bite anymore, it's supported by the story but I don't know... Intelligent zombies or just different people trying to kill you ? Now I feel like a zombie pacifist... Kind of a zombifist (yeah I use instanads at times) like "they're intelligent zombies stop hurting them !" They might as well be the new Helghasts "hey man, you can't come to our planet and invade it!" well... he's right guy, if the only excuse we have for destroying their civilization is "they are the ones who did it first" I guess we just teach em a lesson and go back home...
  8. I does slide away from the original subject, although it might in fact not... Or does it ? not ? Well, the double difficulty setting is a good thing because it allows a lot of opportunities for players to create a lot of different playstyles. Now does a game designer want to give a player so much control over his game or does the makers want the player to reach the game's level ? Kind of part of the whole casuardcore argument: do you have to make games that are funfunfun and pretty straightforwardly easy or do you prefer making a game that requires the player's involvment ? The way it ties itself to the original point is that bioshock doesn't really have hard ass enigmas that just sit there and wait for you to resolve them (which is I think what blackboxme was talking about respect the player's intelligence: put a enigma that requires understanding and not iterating the fuck out of every possibility or going back to look for something you forgot and don't make any way around it). But it does depend, my video gaming consort and I had a very different feelings, he was amongst the people who felt a rythm break as raping the shooter genre in the ass because he spent hours and hours trying to resolve every single one of them when (and that's probably the very sense of intuitive intelligence or might it be gaming culture ?)I just ran through and never really had any problem anywhere in any HL2 enigma.
  9. Yep, did a conference a while ago on difficulty in video games taking about that Had me figure out what makes difficulty and so on, real interesting work to be carrying
  10. On normal mode really none but the final sequence of episode 1 killed me much, I made it back there on hard difficulty and found it ok in fact... Hard mode is really rewarding, although it's sad the difficutly doesn't affect the puzzles.
  11. Sorry my bad, the striders do slow down and eventually stop when you run into them, the HUNTERS do die when you run into them. In normal at least., so it's fucking easy you just kill the hunters, and the strider dies a few seconds later cause nobody's bothering you.
  12. The final battle scene was quite awesome, although in hard difficulty it was quite a mess because striders don't just die from being run into with the car, and the bombshit things explose so fucking quickly... Anyway, I loved that scene and found that on the contrary it was a sweet way to renew the whole strider battle thing. Ep1 was shitty but Ep2 was epic to me
  13. So yesterday we had a "moves of the industry monthly meeting" or as a friend calls it: "see what they do ? well do the same, with more guns". So everyone of us has to talk about a game the design way and we did, there were a few interesting analysis, particularly one of my co worker demonstrated in every way possible how making an unimaginative unoriginal clone game is widely enough to make the cut for now but pushes us away from making art which can change people's live giving a lot of feedback from gamers around him on many games including KZ2 and 50cent2 (I don't know why but the financial department almost applauded this one, probably because the only listened to the first part, I don't really know why they're in a game company, they don't care about games at all, fuck it anyway). But the very first friend I mentioned exposed a game in the making, Singularity, and explained how it was going to make the very foundations of game design tremble showing 2 videos of the game. And I was shocked that he could be so blinded by sweet graphics, cause the game (with a hand that has powers, don't mention bioshock and that can manipulate gravity and make portals but don't open the valve on plagiary) was basically a lot of scripted stuff, cause I can only guess that you couldn't manipulate ANY object... Sure it can have neat multiplayer, but making a game with ONE original guns is kinda lame to me... Whadya think about that game have you seen it*?
  14. I was monkeying about over on the internet, the thing with tubes and so in case you don't know about it.. Erm pretty sweet. So I came across those paintings dunno if you actually already saw it and I'm just reposting old stuff, could not seem to be able to find it on the forum though so here it is: http://abduzeedo.com/Video game-remakes-orioto French digital artist, makes some "repaints" of video games, and you can see some of them are really neat, actually neat enough to get everyone thinking about braid I guess. So what do you think ? Is painty flaty where everybody's gonna go? Cause around me my gamedesigner friends are all working on that kind of graphics (at least 6 professional games in the making that I know of with crazy brushstroky graphs)... So what's you favoutrite graph style ? Are you more of a Streetfighter/SSMB gamer with 2.5D thingies or would you rather have it this way ? btw, read this pretty sweet interview of Jonathan Blow (IGN.com) which was interesting but definitely coined him as a crazy integrist...
  15. ULTIMATE GAMER (only attractive people apply)

That's because you're obsessed with microphones with googly eyes you sexually deviant person! We normal people who see a dong do not want to talk to you ! Loved the toshop one, I tried to make a convincing movie poster of "Ther imense «R» Conspi'acy" starring the whole forum but couldn't make it fun enough... Sorry I suck at photoshop
  16. I finished Eternal Darkness twice with a friend, and was halfway through the third iteration of it when my girl started a new game on Baten Kaitos and when she saved it just corrupted the whole memory card and I had to format it... I'm never ever even getting close from Eternal Darkness... ever... Well it was not the game's fault I know but it was that or not getting close to my girlfriend anymore... I guess I made the obvious choice here...
  17. "Follow the trend" meeting...

That's exactly what a dude from the art department said, the rest of us were too taken aback by the sheer ridiculousness of that situation to do anything but try to picture the highly advanced state of degradation of the brain of the guy that came up with this game which looks awfully shitty but seems to be developed by a couple dozen guys...
  18. "Follow the trend" meeting...

Thing is, considering the impossibly cool properties of quantum physics you could probably make some fun games, the only problem is that people who could make these games are the only one on earth that understand these concepts, and guess what, those guys already have a 200 feet wide hadron collider cock ring to play with so they don't give a fuck about video games...
  19. OH ! not related, did you try the awfucksome DLC of ME ?
  20. Yeah, I liked the idea of being a runner that runs away... Maybe distant shooters or something...
  21. "Follow the trend" meeting...

To me too but it wasn't a complete waste of time, I learned that you can rape a dictator with just a video... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8lfe0_stalin-vs-martians-trailer_video games
  22. ULTIMATE GAMER (only attractive people apply)

HEEEEEY gg, didn't see that one coming XD But yeah I use a mac... How did you know ?
  23. On a completely different note from señor Cheetohands, I listened to the podcast a little while ago and something quite struck me, Chris you said about Mirror's Edge that I could have had no guns at all. I would surely have had a different feel to it, but a lot of times it does get in the way of immersion to me. Like "hey, I could pick this guy's gun and kill everyone in that game... Fuck why wouldn't the game allow that ?!". It's often very frustrating that your game mechanics pulls you one way and then blocks it as in "you have to get rid of this fucker here. Nope, you can't just take the huge wooden stick and carve his face in the ground you'll have to go all around the block..." Same thing with some infiltration games, you could kick their asses, but no, you're a sweet honey pie of a killer, you won't hurt 'em... Makes me sick So for once, I don't agree with you on the "hey, Miror's Edge had a shitty combat system, they should have removed it"
  24. ULTIMATE GAMER (only attractive people apply)

I won at the very instant I saw the set... damn, is there something wrong with me doc ? http://b3ta.com/features/phalliclogoawards/
