  1. Books, books, books...

He was depressed and afraid. It's a very difficult lesson to learn that people and the thing they create are different entities, you can be an ahole and create amazing art and be a very nice person and create shit.
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

Do you think it depends of the understanding you have of the given medium ? To me the comic was pretty intense,
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

I saw a History of Violence, god the movie was awesome but sucked compared to the comic in my opinion, anybody got a taste of both mediums ?
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

What I liked about "Knowing" is that at least in that movie they went far... To the end of their ideas. I hate what most movies do like "Hey, but thanks to mister and miss Fix everything and erase it from your memory, it could all have happened and you would not know about it haha" sometimes to an absurd degree. But boy Heavy symbolism...
  5. How do TVs work?

I dunno, when an appliance like a lamp is off it's just not connected to the circuit anymore is it ?
  6. How do TVs work?

The concept of interrupter rings any bell friend ? If it's on, it already has current flowing through it ^.^
  7. They're called *Video Games*

I tried but nobody seemed to give a shit or to play along so I went on on my own, I can post some more of the research if anybody's interested.
  8. How do TVs work?

If an appliance is using power when the lightning strikes it's more likely to blow the fuck up to a huge degree.
  9. How do TVs work?

Fun thing you should do after trying the basics is call the provider and tell them it fired and see their reaction, if they go "yeaaaaah ok like everybody else" they'll probably already have a replacement program going on. It does, basic tryouts help clarify the symptoms. Mermoryless Digiboxes often boot and connect to their server to put their firmware back up again.
  10. How do TVs work?

Which is, if he/she/they are assholes what they'll tell her everybody knows: you don't watch TV during a thunderstorm especially when it's very close. Rusalka you must've been scared shitless when the lightning struck the house that's so loud... "That game scared me so fucking much I peed in the cat's pyjamas" -IGN.com Also it can just be overloaded with static electricity, you then try to unplug it and put your finger on the electric pin just out the box (no pun intended).
  11. How do TVs work?

A surge protector won't always protect everything in a house, the inside of the box contains a ton of resistors that are supposed to hold very small electric tensions from overwhelming parts of the circuit they might enter in. What happens when you replace small by HUGE charges ? Well resistors blow the fuck up. So the LED (the light in front) gets the tension at the first runthrough (you know that circuits are loops in which electricity circulates) but then it's stopped at the fried resistor. Two solutions : -Have the digibox replaced (if of course no logical solution works ie trying another plug, trying another cable if available but the symptoms don't seem to indicate that it'll work). It might mean telling the people's insurance that you have a surge protector and that it did not stop the lightning, should provide enough good will for them to give the money if they have some sort of universal house-accidents insurance -Open the Digibox with a screwdriver, check the content, post a photo on the forums and we'll tell you what to do if anything can be done.

In video games it became "a world you can modify" as in "a world you can have a influence on". Probably because the random-level generating games were at first RPGs in which you could have an influence : Oblivion for instance would be in the third-generation term a sandbox. Dungeon siege is an example of a second-generation sandbox And Sins of a Solar Empire would be first-generation.
  13. GDC and Gamescom Cologne 2009

Is the site ugly ? Looks like it. Now I'll try to go through my VGpress site but I can't promise a thing.
  14. They make me puke, you make me puke... everybody just gets me vomitting these days... You already own the games, you bought a licence for them and what are you going to do ? Pay again for something you already own ? They ask to fuck you in the ass again and again and you deliver, bravo... Hack the fucking games ! Pirate them for fuck's sake, you bought them 10 years ago why are you even?... AAAARRH I'm so angry at this ! :(:(:(
  15. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

Nope, ther's a fault in there...
  16. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

Not bad Toblix here was the real meaning: Frankly your game looks epic, you'll just have to watch out for the tension in graphical narration (ie : the way the stuff that happens on the screen tell a story). As I said, the enemy approaching my hiding place without even having his weapon at the ready is not really a thing i'd find believable. You could eventually coordinate the AIs for them to go "gather'round guys, we're gonna kick that bastard's ass" ^.^ Indeed the kinetic typo thingy is impressive... Well... You have Hocking (and the other guy, I don't remember his name who wrote "la conception des cartes multijoueur") at hand... I don't even see why I'm giving you advices, I'll buy the game anyway.

  18. Could you both stop being funny and like... post the picture ?
  19. [PROTOTYPE] In Stores Today!

Don't wanna be too picky here but Sandbox was at the beginning only designating games who generated levels as in the Kriegspiel (the first strategy game in history 1811 if I remember correctly) where they litteraly played in a wharhammer figurine style in sand boxes that you would shake to generate a random landscape. Now for the Prince of Persia 2k8 it's like a lot of new games an Odysseus game. Ulysses goes from island to island but the order in which he visits them is pretty random or a least could be to some extent because some islands have an precise influence on some parts of the story. So in pop2k8 you just go to an island, make a fucking QTE sequence through the platforms and then go back to picking your next destination.
  20. My Dad is awesome

You should be posting a link to a youtube video remember ? Now I strongly disagree with that !
  21. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

    Who's that ?
  22. Movie/TV recommendations

Hmmm... Pretty heavy shmit visually, no... no I mean like really... The backstory is... aerhm kind of as heavy as it gets on symbolism but worth watching 'd be my pick although I would recommend you rent it

They are moving the genre, I don't know if that's pushing or pulling but it indeed looks like a different game, not as much as they 'd like but still... Thing is, most big game companies have a video team now to make behind the scenes so when they make one they try to make it right. Now for the names on walls it's because the games does that : projecting objectives and texts on walls so it's pretty fun to me that they did the same in the video with a projector. Remo once said about Lara Croft "Because of course SHE would know how far she can jump". I found it to apply to a lot of games, when you're a fucking killer agent that served for 20 years you shouldn't really miss your target especially if you know where the guys are. What they are not telling you is that it's what a lot of games already do, what they don't is that you me or anybody would kind of forsee that our target might be moving. And when you see the guy leaning over to check if sam's here without even having his weapon raised, you should worry a bit about how easy it'll be to trick them
  25. My Dad is awesome

He's pretty awesome indeed What's your first name said he ? Ian ?
