  1. Michigan not only had arcades, it had the national pinball champion! The Pinball Wizard! <-closest thing to a wizard smiley I could find. How come there's no wizard smiley? I can't find anything to back that up, but in my heart of hearts, I know that it's true.
  2. About reading in games topic - There's a series that does this well - Myst! At least Myst and Myst IV: Revelation did it properly (I don't remember Riven's writings that well and never played III). Myst IV had books - some of them rather long - that you could read to get back story of what was going on and get answers to puzzles. It made reading entertaining and much more worthwhile than reading about how many pies someone needs. Example of Myst IV reading: http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/myst-iv-revelation/screenshots/gameShotId,105542/ . In the beginning there's a kiddie book written in crayon with drawings that's pretty cute, too. I'm not sure if Myst V is the same way. I never finished Myst IV although I'm about 10 minutes from the end. I had had enough of the gameplay and didn't want to finish.
  3. I still have the UT demo installed on my computer! It's somehow survived through the years. I wasn't a huge fan of Facing Worlds low-grav instagib, but I recall that map being really popular.
  4. Make it Pop.

I support a number of websites within my department and luckily it's pretty smooth sailing most of the time. The sticky wicket I run into most often is what Metallus mentioned; the last minute changes when there's a deadline closing in. Clients surprise me every once in a while, too. Just last week I heard from someone that they wanted "the person in a construction hat digging" picture on one of their sites. Haven't heard that one in years!
  5. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hello friends! One of the podcasts I listened to recently got me motivated to start up Grim Fandango again. I'm tootling around Rubacava right now!
