  1. "Follow the trend" meeting...

Oh come off it! The ability to un-crumple barrels is the single most important thing to happen to the genre since being able to look up and down!
  2. New people: Read this, say hi.

I'm confused...have I posted on the wrong forum? Is Ipite now in control of Idle Thumbs after just one post?! Can he see posts that we can't? ...or is it just spam?
  3. Killzone 2

Glad it wasn't just me that thought the controls were much better in multiplayer. I am still loving this online and whilst it does rehash some of the best features of popular shooters, it does throw in a few new features itself. I don't think I would be enjoying it so much if I was thrown back to a lobby everytime the game mode changed. Also the ability to create spawn points via smoke markers is genius.
  4. I Am Alive

Looks like Ubisoft have taken dev duties off Darkworks, all very mutally decided mind: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/ubisoft-pulls-i-am-alive-from-darkworks

Haha yeah. Jiffy bag stuck out of the letter box whilst your game is sat on the door mat after he's rammed it through the letterbox. The best ones are GAME's new packaging...ever so slightly bigger than an average letter box, poor guys

  7. Killzone 2

Well, I jumped online and before I knew it an hour had passed and I had moved up the ranks. If you get rid of the shite story, speed the controls up and throw in 32 players you're left with a half decent game. One thing that really impressed me was the quality of the maps. I can see myself putting a lot of time into this.

  9. Not listened to it yet, but it's nice to see Independence War mentioned, one of my all time favourite games. Shame the dev team went down the pan after Powerdrome, would have loved to have seen a next-gen sequel.
  10. Killzone 2

I'm going to give multiplayer a go tonight too, but I did give the skirmish mode a try last night and to my surprise I found the controls to be much improved over the single player mode. The movement speed and analogue sensitivity are much easier to handle, I probably would have enjoyed single player a lot more if it controlled the same.
  11. Killzone 2

    Exactly!
  12. Killzone 2

Just completed this and just as I was beginning to enjoy it they had to throw in that trash of a final section with a crappy boss battle. You couldn't have gotten any more unimaginative, it was 10 years to late. I'm also amazed that considering this was delayed for some extra polish it had numerous glaring issues and bugs, most of which could have been picked up by a retarded circus chimp. It's funny, I reviewed the original years back and a lot of the issues I pointed out are also true of this sequel.
  13. Killzone 2

Haha...brilliant video, hadn't seen that before
  14. Killzone 2

    Like David Bowie...but from space?
  15. Killzone 2

I put a few hours into it yesterday and it just hasn't clicked with me yet, and I totally agree with your bullet points there kuddles. One thing that has stood out for me is that you're constantly dragged through the levels by a AI buddy. You clear an area, he runs off and waits for you next to the locked door that triggers the next killbox. What that tells you is there are no enemies between you and the door, so there's no surprise...just a bunch of empty corridors and some chump dissing your mom on the way!
  16. Today is the day I force myself to play FarCry2.

It definitely gets better once you start unlocking more weapons and upgrades, especially silenced guns and sniper rifles...oh and the grenade launcher. It makes light work of pursuing checkpoint baddies! It's a game of many stand out moments of emergent gameplay, interspersed with retarded design decisions (something Ubisoft excel at). I think in the end I had sunk around 30+ hours into it.

  19. Street Fighter IV

Yeah I've had no joy at all, was contemplating eBay but they're going for silly money. I don't think Madcatz realised just how popular they would be and so only did a short run, possibly just to test the water. I'm actually thinking about picking up one of the sticks as they seem more in abundance than the pads right now.
  20. Street Fighter IV

There's just too much travel in it and find it inaccurate in the heat of battle. Like you said you end up pulling off moves you didn't want.
  21. American McGee's Alice 2! Or the Return of...they don't know.

Nope, that was done by Enlight Software, who also published one of McGee's other game - Scrapland. McGee is basically the littlest hobo of the gaming industry, moving from developer to developer allowing them to tag his name on to their shit games. Like his name fucking means anything!
  22. Street Fighter IV

Sweet jesus, I just got severly balls-deep bummed in a deliverance stylee. Must have only won 2 matches out of 20 and I've lost every battle points I think I'm going to stop playing the 360 version until I pickup a fightpad, that crappy d-pad is destroying my thumb.
  23. Dantes Inferno trailer

How about a shit animated prequel blu-ray release? Dante's Tepid Adventures?

  25. Dantes Inferno trailer

Obviously it's too early to comment on the game, but the trailer didn't really inspire me. However, I did find Dead Space to be a surprisingly enjoyable romp through survival-horrordom, so I'm hoping this will be the same for hack'n'slash 'em ups. Nothing new, but just really well made.
