American McGee's Alice 2! Or the Return of...they don't know.
MonkeyWrench posted a topic in Video Gaming
Continuing it's assault on classic literature EA have plucked American McGee out of obscurity to slap his name on a new installment of Alice. I've not seen anything in the way of details other than a piece of art showing a giant steam-powered snail vomiting on Alice's clean apron. Well, it might be spitting, you decide... http://www.spicyhorse.com/news-detail-pages/items/ea-announces-partnership-with-spicy-horse-to-make-the-return-of-.html -
I can't believe I've seen nothing on this game! Looks very cool.
-
No way! Why does no one ever tell me these things.
-
Yeah I read that hands on too, definitely sounds promising. I really thought it would be due this year, it seems like it's been in development for ages, but like you said THQ probably don't want to get trodden under the God of War machine.

Anyone UK Thumbmites going to check out Video game Nation exhibition at Urbis in Manchester? http://www.urbis.org.uk/page.asp?id=3296 I spotted it on the local news and it looks pretty sweet, but what is even sweeter is a series of talks throughout the year from various industry guys. http://www.urbis.org.uk/page.asp?id=3332 Going to pickup tickets for all but one of them. If I can be arsed I'll write something up on them. This one looks particularly cool...

I'm going to have to give this one a miss. Let us know how it was.

OMG...the Sony Dildo. They've definitely out done MS there! That guy is really struggling, he knows it's fucking shit compared to Project Natal.
-
Jesus the Sony conference is painful.
-
Keep up with the news http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=21594

Yeah it's a new one that stars Raiden. I must admit that was one of the strongest conferences I've seen for years, Sony really has it's work cut out tomorrow.
-
Yeah...fucking Molyneux and his big gob.
-
I've got to say that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
-
Holy cow...full body motion capture! It's all fucking mental I tell ya!
-
MGS on 360...WOOO...YEAH. Lightning bolt action all the way baby!
-
I must admit I've been impressed with what's been shown so far. I'm particularly looking forward to Forza 3.
-
Alan Wake, ooooh!
-
Left 4 Dead 2! Fuck yeah!
-
Crackdown 2, fuck yeah!
-
Yeah the demo is a complete prick tease, but it was enough to confirm that this will indeed rock. I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on this, it looks to be a good start to what might turn out a decent year for PSP software.

I've been meaning to dabble with the level design side of this for ages. The problem is I've done some contract work on various games in the past, but I have no drive to create something when there's no money waiting for me at the end. I do like checking out other peoples work though, there's some stunning stuff out there.
-
I hadn't. Looks bloody great, especially that boss battle.

Custard ruins the rifling and trigger mechanism.

Is anyone planning on picking up RB: Unplugged? I don't think I've been this excited about a PSP since Ridge Racer when it first launched.

"There is no uncanny valley any more," declares French developer
MonkeyWrench replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Video Gaming
Oh god, the opinion police are out! Thanks for clarifying that. I forgot there are such things as wrong opinions...mm-hm. I guess I was just under the asumption that gamers (what with being one myself) would want decent gameplay, without it you're not going to see any of the incredible narrative. You might as well just watch a film. Don't get me wrong, I like a good story in a game, but I also want it delivered in a way that isn't going to frustrate and bore me and QTEs always frustrate and bore me. -

I've never rated Cage and Quantic Dream. I remember reviewing Omikron on the PC years ago, absolutely slating it and then receiving hate mail from the developers. If you don't want people to talk ill of your games don't make shit! Whilst the narrative might be pushing the boundaries of video gamers the abundance of QTEs show that the gameplay is still stuck in the past, and that's all that matters at the end of the day.
