  1. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

Just looking to purchase the tickets tonight and noticed this: https://secure.ticketline.co.uk/tickets/13235355/Video game-nation-getting-dizzy/manchester-urbis/2009-06-28 The Oliver Twins are also doing a talk about the Dizzy games, but for some reason it's not mentioned on the Urbis website.
  2. Project TRICO

I've been reading about this all day at work, but I've not been able to watch it...the excitement has been killing me! Thankfully it was as good as I hoped it to have been. Who would have thought there was a cuddly cat-bird at the end of that chain we've seen so many times?
  3. Darksiders: The Wrath of War

This has been on my radar since it was announced. I don't read comics (other than the odd manga) so wasn't aware of Joe Madureira's pedigree, I just think it looks like a smart game.
  4. Street Fighter IV

My copies are currently in my "to sell" pile. I've put around 40 hours into it but I've become increasingly annoyed of move spamming retards, so I've decided to throw in the towel before I blow a gasket. Shame really, I probably would have kept it if Capcom had included a lobby system.
  5. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

I think some of the games were emulated, so they could have gotten around it that way. Operation Wolf wasn't a light gun game in the traditional sense. The gun on the coin-op was basically a joystick. It would have been nice to see the old Sinclair light gun...and the Predator gun I seem to remember owning. I did see a funny one of Sonic with a walking stick that said "Sonic 86, just let me die!"
  6. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

I have no idea, I shall check after work. Cheers for the heads up.
  7. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

Yeah that game really has aged well, I've got an urge to play it again.
  8. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

Just got back. It was ok, it did bring back lots of memories, but there were what I thought were major omissions...no sign of an Amiga, but plenty of mentions of the Atari ST?! What was there was great though. Getting to see some of the original design documents and artwork for games I adored was very cool, such as the whole map for Dizzy sketched out on graph paper with each sheet being a single screen. There was also plenty about Elite (and Braben/Bell), which is one of my all time fave games so it was great to see that in action again. I did try and buy tickets for the talks but the staff there knew nothing about it, so I'll have to buy them online.
  9. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

Oooh playable Renegade? What format? I used to love that on my old Spectrum +2. I'll take my camera and post up some photos tomorrow also.
  10. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

I'm definitely up for meeting up at any of these talks, I'll be going to all but the Jon Hare one (I never digged Sensible Soccer).
  11. Videogame Nation - UK exhibition

Manchester is one of the biggest international airports in Britain so there should be plenty of direct flights from Paris. I flew from Paris to Manchester via Air France on my return from Japan. But yeah as Patters said, Liverpool airport is probably 2nd best. Going to check out the exhibition on Sunday and pick up tickets for the talks. Really looking forward to it.
  12. Borderlands

I was originally going to say "ever" but I remembered those two
  13. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/316675.html?playlist=featured Leaked footage. Looks like a budget game, but it would have done well in Old Man Murray's Crate Review System.
  14. Beyond Better & Evil!

Looks great, but I don't think it's gameplay footage, the camera works too well. It's either a target render or a trailer for E3, and Ubi rarely show gameplay/engine footage in it's trailers.
  15. Borderlands

All the toe-may-to toe-mar-to talk aside I also agree that the change gives the game much needed identity. I felt it looked far too similar to id's Rage and wouldn't haven't stood a chance against the id hype machine, although their release schedules are probably miles apart. However, I feel Gearbox haven't made a decent game for ages so I'm not holding my breath.
  16. Street Fighter IV

Well I already have the 360, which I think is the better version anyway, I only play it on PS3 because I have a decent pad. Playing it with the normal 360 pad is pure thumb torture.
  17. Street Fighter IV

Do you guys have it installed or are you running it off disk? Mine is installed. Didn't realised the 360 version allows you to view the inputs, that's a pretty poor omission of the PS3 version. I think once I can get a fight pad for the 360 I'll move over to that version.
  18. Street Fighter IV

Anyone else tried the update? Whilst I like the championship mode stuff, the game now takes a lot longer to load on PS3. When you goto arcade mode and select your difficulty it almost looks like it has locked up.
  19. The Beatles Game

I can play a real guitar, but I prefer playing the spastic-plastic one because people cheer when I play. The more they cheer the more mojo flows through my veins. I want more mojo for nothing.
  20. The Beatles Game

The first footage of this has been shown during McCartney's set at Coachella: I'm glad they didn't do characitures like previous games.
  21. Resi 5

Got around to completing this the other day and I have to say I really didn't enjoy the last two thirds of the game, especially the last boss. The initial locale was interesting, but then when you're trudging through generic lab #1 and warehouses it just seems a bit of waste. I also can't believe anyone with any measure of intelligence thought the inventory system was good to go. It was like playing one of those sliding picture puzzles.
  22. Street Fighter IV

Looks like the championship mode is due next week: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/sfiv-championship-mode-next-week Still no lobby
  23. Trine

I must admit my interest has piqued since watching that second video. I was just talking to someone the other day about how PSN seems to get more interesting titles over it's rivals, and Trine looks to be a great example.
  24. Shadow of the Colossus: the movie

Horse personality is important, like Artax in Neverending Story, he was a right card, until the stupid dickhead got depressed and died in black mud in the swamp of sadness. I once saw a film about a boy and his horse...made me sick to the core. Definitely not something you would show to your mum. Either way, I don't even feel this is worth discussing because it's going to end up a steaming pile of shit like every other game-to-movie adaptation, especially as it's written by the guy behind that dire Chun Li movie. It's only ever going to end in disappointment.
  25. The Beatles Game

As this thread seems to have become a Rock Band thread, has anyone checked out this? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/04/08/new-limited-edition-rock-band-unplugged-entertainment-pack/ I'm so all over this! Looks bloody smart.
