I'll probably be around an hour before the event. Join me if you see me around. Also, my internetz is on the fritz today, so I may or may not stick around for the whole thing.
-
That's 4pm east coast officially but some of us are occassionally playing either survivor or campaign modes before that time. Join the idle thumbs steam group and you'll see the event notification.
-
Right then, all of us have it. Problem solved. Time to get all excited again and wait six weeks. Or even less for the early demo!
-
Thanks. I recieved it just fine.
-
I paid $134.99 USD, which comes out to $33.75 USD for each of us. Check your exchange rates and pay me whatever you think is appropriate. @soulchicken: We play regularly on Sundays at 4pm EST or 9pm BST. Join us for a fun game of versus. You can also find me playing (practicing) an hour or two before that time.

Oh yeah! I was so worried about it yesterday and browsing the steam forums reading on all sorts of issues about this thing was no help either. Anyway, you can use the send money feature in paypal to this email: snip snip It's like 5 am here, I just woke up and saw this, looks like you just made my day.

Update: I have confirmed that country locations indeed do not matter. Upon checking my steam account it still says "sent" beside each of your names, apparently it has to change to "redeemed". I have sent it to Grippage as well this time. I am hoping that atleast one of you guys can get it, so we can figure what the problem is. If it still won't work, I would need alternate email addresses, to which I can attempt to resend it. I am beginning to hate steam now. Why does it have to be so freakin' complicated? From what I've gathered so far, the person recieving the gift gets a email notification as well as a steam pop-up. Not to mention it's supposed to be instantaneous. I also suggest that you check and "verify" the email address linked with your steam profile. If you're unsure, check it in your settings tab in steam. If for some unfortunate reason this still won't work, miffy I'll have to take you up on that offer. Fingers crossed. You should receive a message like this (I came across it on the steam forums): And here's a screenshot of the mess we are in:

I am still at work right now. I have quickly browsed through the steam forums and found that the countries/ regions don't matter. I've also taken a look over this https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=549 Sorry to ask again, but wrestle have you checked the email address that is registered with your steam account? I can't access steam here, but I can resend it later, maybe this time to a different email of yours. Any idea if suspect has seen it in her account? Truly sorry for all this mess. Will sort it out once I get home.
-
One could hypothetically use a proxy to access steam and switch countries to fool it, couldn't they? I'll try sending it to you this evening. We'll see how it goes from then on. Even if it doesn't work I always have the copy and I could give it to you when you leave Australia.
-
It's done. I have purchased the pack and sent copies to Wrestle and Suspect. Grippage I need you to accept my friend invite on steam, because I can't seem to select you as a recipient unless you're on my friend's list. Since this is my first time doing something like this, I apologize in advance if anything goes horribly wrong. Also, I received this message upon completing the transaction: So I'm guessing you will have to click an "authorize" link in your email account that is linked with steam. After that, it should show up in your my games tab under "not installed". Please post a reply when you have received it, so that I can post back with my paypal account details. Can't wait until Nov 17th.
-
It's banned in norway? Weird. Or are you in Australia now? Wouldn't the ban prevent me from gifting it to you or does it not affect purchases made this way? I suppose we won't know until it's all done.
-
Paypal is alright with me. I don't see another alternative other than traditional transfer which would obviously take more time and have other additional charges. I am at work right now, I'll probably buy it when I get home later (if I remember that is). I'll update you guys with the details when it's done.
-
Nevermind I just friended you through Wrestle.
-
Is that official? I am willing to go ahead and buy the pack, but I need to be sure of all the members in the group. I also need some sort of proper confirmation that you are all infact participating. Also, I have Wrestle and Suspect on my friends list, I need Grippage's steam ID for this to work.
-
I suppose it is doable. One person in the group of four, buys it and the others pay their share to that person, through paypal or something. Looking at the savings in CAD, I am interested. If other forum members (preferably regular L4ders) are also interested in saving some money, we should discuss this further soon. I have no idea when this promotion might end, but sooner we get this done... I actually opened up steam today and saw the promotion, was going to instantly preorder it, but my PC crashed at that very moment. Fate?

So I'm not going to be around for a while...

Best wishes to all involved. We'll miss you and hope to see you back again. -
I assume we are still doing "Death Aboard" this Sunday though? I want to give that map another try, after having played versus on it for the first time.
-
He's been at it again... More Monkey Island 2 in 3D
Scratch replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Video Gaming
Looks pretty indeed, but the gameplay would obviously not feel the same. -
Each of us needs to install those maps first. Finding an appropriate server is not a problem. I have played Death Aboard before;the map is very large and confusing at certain points. But I suppose that wouldn't be a problem if I am not playing with bots.

I played the demo on PC. Considering Mouse/Keyboard controls, I preferred playing with a controller. Games like this somehow never play that well on traditional PC controls. Oh and the game does support some of the "third party" PC gamepads out there (logitech for instance). But if you're indeed going to get a new controller, I would suggest you to stick to the 360 controller for windows. Most modern PC ports, support the MS controller out the box. Other controllers you might have to mod the files to get working properly. Back on topic: The only minor problem with the game, is the abundance of gargoyles. I understand that Batman has a need of something to grapple on and do his thing. But couldn't they have atleast substituted something different every once in a while?

I am certain nobody here is boycotting L4D2 completely. As for me, I am going to get it on the day it releases. But whether we switch to playing L4D2 on our Sundays is completely upto how many of us have the game at that point.
-
Trailers are awful. But you shouldn't judge the game by looking at the craptastic trailers. The gameplay vids give a more better look. I hate to say it, but "Don't judge a book by it's covers".

Sorry for not being there. If I recall correctly, I was still in the lobby with you guys but then went afk and never came back. I had to attend to some unexpected "guests" who just wouldn't leave. Next Sunday for sure.
-
Unfortunately or rather fortunately it's raining outside, so I won't be leaving home as I had planned... I'll be there, providing of course that something else doesn't come up by then.

Crash Course. New campaign coming as a free addon to PC and paid to 360. Of course, that means corresponding survival and versus maps based on the campaign as well. I like the fact that it is scheduled to be released in Sept., two months ahead of L4D2. Also, I don't know, how many of us here are ready to make the transition to L4D2 when it comes out. But I for sure, will be all over it.
