  1. Ok not bringing this up again for the obvious reason, because there is no obvious reason.

Any of you who took interest in this thread ever played Steel Battalion? Anyone still plays this game?

Steel Battalion is great, I haven't played it ages though. The controller is fantastic and the game is good fun too but seriously hard.

It's the only game I know of that when you die in a mission it properly kills you and you have to start from scratch. On top of that before each mission it kills you so if you rage quit you're dead anyway.

Depending on how good Natal really is I think that would make a great way to play without needing the insane controller (although I do really like it).

  2. ...then by the end, there are like 20 people watching at that final show, and they're just hanging out and enjoying and they have beards and look like normal dudes.

That last gig was an impromptu one on the top of their record studio.

I have to say it was much as I expected - rock band with beatles songs. Nothing amazing but I'm sure it'll be a hit at parties

  3. Henry Hatsworth definitely had me banging my head against a wall over and over from about halfway through the third world til the end of the game. Goddamn that game ramps up.

God yes, I've recently reached a point where there is one of those walls that shoots grenades and a guy that fires a homing mortar thing and all you get to stand on is destructable floor :frusty:

Oh and SF IV; Fuck Seth.

  4. That's what I love about it. To me, Guybrush is barely even a character. I know some people like to talk about how much they love Guybrush Threepwood as a hilarious character, but it's never been that for me, at least not in the first two games. I really like that I have no fully-formed human conception of who Guybrush is; his cypher-like nature is really central to the effectiveness of those games.

In the first two games you are Guybrush in the others you play Guybrush. It's a subtle but important distinction, I think.

Also, I much prefer that Guybrush model to the new one :(

  5. Forza 2 was fine with the controller, at least for me. My only gripe was with the career mode.

My only warning would be that there is a lot of grinding involved, they pretty seem to like increasing the number of laps you have to drive in the events which makes the game more and more tedious. This is made even worse when you start upgrading your cars because you can be 10 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else.

Don't get me wrong I had a great time upgrading and tuning my cars and doing the 3-5 lap races but after that it got boring really quickly.

The car modeling or whatever is amazing though, the cars feel and drive differently and even the same car behaves differently after upgrades.

I found out, for example, that I should never drive a Ferrari because I'm just too heavy on the gas and just spin them all the time.

Got to love the photo mode though:

  6. Because we don't care?

Basing a game around escort missions is a horrible, horrible idea. They are always terrible and BioShock was no exception. In fact that and the boss section nearly ruined the game for me.

The setting is confusing to me too, it's set after BioShock but I play as the first Big Daddy? That doesn't seem right.

    Hey-ho I maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
