That sounds like a great deal to me, if it's a modded console you can copy your saves off to get around the whole killing you thing (this is what I did).

I only skimmed it so I guess I missed that bit. That's much more of a definite problem

I wondered if it was that DMA

Professor Layton game as a present for girlfriend?
MrChaz replied to Irishjohn's topic in Video Gaming
The wife loves professor Layton it's pretty much the only thing she's played apart from Rock Band. It's a great couples game too -
From the review it seems they haven't been able to find the line between too easy and too hard for the puzzles. I have to wonder how much that is going to vary player to player because it looks so imagination driven.

Steel Battalion is great, I haven't played it ages though. The controller is fantastic and the game is good fun too but seriously hard. It's the only game I know of that when you die in a mission it properly kills you and you have to start from scratch. On top of that before each mission it kills you so if you rage quit you're dead anyway. Depending on how good Natal really is I think that would make a great way to play without needing the insane controller (although I do really like it).

There are a bunch of podcast downloading apps for the G1 which will automatically grab them for you podWeasel and DoggCatcher for example. podWeasel is something that I wrote and is, a little ropey but it is cheap / free

Idle Thumbs Standalone Expansion PAX 3: BioWare's Mac Walters
MrChaz replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
That was a good listen and all but I'm disappointed you totally missed your prime opportunity to ask a person in the know about your difficulty issues and class balance.Boo. -
That last gig was an impromptu one on the top of their record studio. I have to say it was much as I expected - rock band with beatles songs. Nothing amazing but I'm sure it'll be a hit at parties

I dabble with Android programming

God yes, I've recently reached a point where there is one of those walls that shoots grenades and a guy that fires a homing mortar thing and all you get to stand on is destructable floor Oh and SF IV; Fuck Seth.

I thought so, bear in mind I normally drum on medium and play guitar on hard and possibly suck at video games
-
Had a chance to play it today and it's great. A lot like Rock Band (surprise) and actually quite hard - I'll never say a bad thing about Ringo's drumming again

I must have typo'd the search Where did you pre-order from? It doesn't seem to be on Steam yet

In the first two games you are Guybrush in the others you play Guybrush. It's a subtle but important distinction, I think. Also, I much prefer that Guybrush model to the new one

Forza 2 was fine with the controller, at least for me. My only gripe was with the career mode. My only warning would be that there is a lot of grinding involved, they pretty seem to like increasing the number of laps you have to drive in the events which makes the game more and more tedious. This is made even worse when you start upgrading your cars because you can be 10 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else. Don't get me wrong I had a great time upgrading and tuning my cars and doing the 3-5 lap races but after that it got boring really quickly. The car modeling or whatever is amazing though, the cars feel and drive differently and even the same car behaves differently after upgrades. I found out, for example, that I should never drive a Ferrari because I'm just too heavy on the gas and just spin them all the time. Got to love the photo mode though:

Wait, what? It's a song about being a peeping tom?

Found this on Eurogamer this morning: http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/exlcusive-dantes-inferno-trailer It's worth watching if only for the tag line at the end. Looks a heck of a lot like Ninja Gaiden giant scythe and all.

We all know that Peter is prone to exaggeration but even by his standards this is impressing: I shit you not: http://twitter.com/petermolyneux2/status/2341451754

If you're under 18, gaming is about to suck for you
MrChaz replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Video Gaming
Can't say I think it's a bad thing. The other ratings were pretty lenient imo. -
That is true but I left the game with the impression that the whole place was about to collapse, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

Because we don't care? Basing a game around escort missions is a horrible, horrible idea. They are always terrible and BioShock was no exception. In fact that and the boss section nearly ruined the game for me. The setting is confusing to me too, it's set after BioShock but I play as the first Big Daddy? That doesn't seem right. Hey-ho I maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Oh yeah, should be great. Hopefully you'll be able to extract the songs and use them in Rock Band 2 or vice-versa.
