  1. Questions from a Torchlight newb

My advice is to you is to play with the second hardest difficulty setting (I think there are 4?) or maybe even the hardest. I forget. I played for a few days on the normal one and eventually realised that the game was way too easy. I took down bosses in less than a second, and I don't even have any real experience with dungeon crawlers. I didn't even consider going to The Shitty Wizard after listening to the podcast so I wouldn't know.
  2. Nifty browser games (inc. Flash)

http://armorgames.com/play/5426/steambirds Turn-based top-down dogfighting. So hard to play with a trackpad though. I've got RSI at this point
  3. "Touch for the win"

That reminds me of my level 60 troll rogue Peregrinus. May he rest in peace :violin::violin:
  4. Mice for gamers.

I was sleeping when that offer was on the table. But I realised that I shouldn't be looking for a cheap backup mouse. Since mice are portable, I'll get a higher quality mouse and eventually replace the broken mouse I have back home in Norway. I'ts funny though, since the mouse back home was actually broken during my last journey to norway. Next time, however, I won't put the mouse in the bag's side pocket without any padding So yeah, I'm looking at the M950 now.
  5. The Witcher 2

If the game dips to black every 1.5 seconds as well, I'll be the first in line to preorder it!
  6. Lost Planet 2

I never played this game, so I always think its called Cold Planet.
  7. Mice for gamers.

But surely not for playing "mouse games"?
  8. Left 4 Thumbs 2

L4D2 is boring now? Well Sirs, I'm truly sorry about that
  9. The Whispered World - 23 April

twmac, I completely agree. I think part of it it might be the clean style of the character vs. the kinda gritty background. But I'm also not sure if it was a good idea to make his clothes the same colour as the background. He almost looks like a floating head because of it. Twig, the animation looked bad from what I've seen too. But it's not gonna stop me from playing it, I think poor distribution will.
  10. Michael Atkinson is, according to Wikipedia, the only person stopping a R18+ rating in Australia from coming true. And he's resigning! "Mr Atkinson's decision to leave the front bench means he will no longer be in a position to vote on changes to the country's classification system, including the introduction of an R18+ rating for games." - News.com.au Putting two and two together, doesn't this mean that the rating is guaranteed to be established? Yeah it does! So why does everyone keep saying it's "one step closer". I mean, sure! I guess it's one step closer, and it's that last step you take before entering the finishing line Can anyone enlighten me? Why is this not being celebrated, etc.?
  11. Gaming Down Under: The Whole Rating Thing

I'm in Sydney, yeah. I guess the only way to find out is to boot up Steam. Waiting for my iMac to be shipped from Japan
  12. Gaming Down Under: The Whole Rating Thing

Yeah, it only affects me because I play L4D2. And since I have the uncensored version I'm not sure what's gonna happen when I try to play it from Australia. Where do you live bro?
  13. Gaming Down Under: The Whole Rating Thing

Yeah, I read about that review. Are you aussie?
  14. Mice for gamers.

I had an MX1000 but the charger stopped working, rendering the mouse unusable. Either way, I don't t think they sell it anymore. This looks like a good deal...too good? 40 aussie bucks is like 37 infidel dollars, so it's pretty close.
  15. Gaming Down Under: The Whole Rating Thing

It definitely will. At the very least on Steam of course, but stores are probably happy to be able to sell the same game twice. People will pay for blood. That much is certain.
  16. Mice for gamers.

Yeah the Magic Mouse was the weirdest mouse I've come across. It has touch sensitivity, but there was too much friction to really make it work. But I'd like to think that I'll get used to it given enough time. I guess you can say that it's against Apple's ethos, but I'll get back to you on that.
  17. SpyParty

What if it's only a flesh wound?
  18. Mice for gamers.

Thanks Patters, but I was trying to avoid the whole Gamer theme. But even if I disregard that principle, it still looks like it'll be 80-90 australian bucks, which is too much for a secondary mouse. It's also worth mentioning that I'm installing Windows for all my gaming needs, so it doesn't have to be a mac mouse. It's so hard to find a regular mouse now that everyone is so obsessed with Min(n)i(e) Mice for laptops.
  19. Mice for gamers.

That's awesome, but that mother's smile looks slightly forced. Kid looks like a) he's having the time of his life he's trying to escape
  20. Mice for gamers.

I've had the SteelSeries Full-Size Headset for like 2 years now, and I'm willing to shamelessly promote it. I had two pairs of Koss headsets before this, and they were really tight around the ears. They also made the whole area around the ear really clammy. Also, both of them broke way too early. Oh wait, that applies to every headset I've ever tried on. The steelseries headset, however, weighs next to nothing. It's really relaxed so you can wear it for 5 hours without any, uh, after effects if you will. It's well ventilated, so you won't develop a fauna in your ears. It doesn't block out external sound as well as some heavier models, but it does more than a good enough job at it. It leaks a bit, but mostly at really high levels. Did I mention I've had it for 2 years? It looks really fragile, but it's taken quite a beating and still persists. I guess it owes some of that to it's flexible nature and simple construction. Last but not least, it looks really good.
  21. Mice for gamers.

Forgive me, but I can't be f:bomb:ked reading this whole fu:bomb:ing thread. But I'm getting an iMac with the Magic Mouse, and after trying it out at the apple store, I'm convinced I need to get a backup mouse for games. Doesn't matter if it's corded, and I want thumb buttons on the side. Something in the vein of a Logitech 950, but doesn't cost 200 goddamn bucks. Essentialy, this is where you guys plug your mice.
  22. GTA LII: Steve McQueen's Greatest Role

    I should also be in...
  23. iSteam

You won't have to pay extra, as the linked-to article states.
  24. Left 4 Thumbs 2

Hot! Right now I'm living in a Harlem-ish dorm-like apartment complex on campus that smells of cheap cooking oil while on the lookout for something more respectable. I have a theory that I can play L4D2 on American servers and maybe on some really good European servers. But even if that works out, there's still the whole GMT+11 issue to factor in. And of course there's the uncertainty of whether I'll be able to load the uncensored version of the game.
