  1. Bit OT, but you might enjoy 'Them - Adventures with extremeists' by Jon Ronson. http://www.jonronson.com/them.html
  2. Spore demo leaked

    Had to happen: Goatse tribute
  3. Buying a PS3

For the record, I've turned my 360 on once since I bought a PS3 about 6 weeks ago. Use it all the time for streaming, games, DVD's etc.
  4. Buying a PS3

Aye, Nappi, the PS3 upscales DVDs apparently. How, I'm not sure. You're right about the bluetooth handset as well. For the hell of it, I also bought this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/4Gamers-Vertical-Stand-USB-Hub/dp/B000N22OTA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=video games&qid=1214572194&sr=8-1 Really good quality too.
  5. Buying a PS3

...and of course there's WipeoutHD. It was due a month ago, and still no sign, but we can hope it will be soon!
  6. Buying a PS3

The EU version will generally not play PS2 games, and will play some PS1 games, IIRC. The 40Gb drive can be upgraded very easily with a 5400 SATA drive. There are instruction in the PS3 manual on how to do it. Uncharted is pretty slick - one of the few games I've bothered to play through twice. I'm only on act 2 of MGS4, mainly because it requires time to play, and I've only had snippets of an hour or so here and there recently.

  9. Call of Duty 4

I think you need to review your signup procedure a bit. http://www.stopforumspam.com/ is pretty good - you can get the forum to check with this before it allows people to sign up.

  11. Well, I'm thinking very seriously about emigrating to Canada from the UK, and BC is my favourite area so far. Going to come over to Vancouver begining of next year for a week or so to check it out, see if it's nice etc - what is there to do there? Are jobs plentiful in hi-tech industry? (I'm a security professional (pen-testing/forensics)) Is vancouver a nice place to live? What about BC in general? Vancouver island? I know there are few other canadian folk here, so what are other areas of canada like?
  12. Medieal 2:TW - Worth playing?

I had exactly the same experience Ginger. Loved M:TW, then R:TW and then R:TW:BI. Waited with baited breath for M2...and played it for about a week. Didn't find it anywhere near as compelling, in fact I re-installed R:TW the other day to give it another go.
  13. I loved the bit when that geezer gets caught in the oil drum in Act 1. Fart gags translate across cultures!
  14. Spore demo leaked

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6508167962390314155&q=spore+vagina&ei=kWVWSML1A4-ijQL0jvH_Cg don't know why folks are so surprised by this...
  15. I think it just takes time. I hit the points total easily, but visas can still take up to two years, depending.
  16. I have found the stealth aspects a little easy - you can crawl within about a foot of a combatant and he won't spot you.
  17. Crock Band

Here's some speculation about why so many break: http://www.eetimes.com/news/latest/showArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=51TYZYXYRWUZUQSNDLSCKHA?articleID=208403010
  18. New DS design?

Yeh, sorry about that. Got a bit carried away. Just labouring the point.

Hah! don't let me stop you
  21. Zero Punctuation

I don't get it - are they not all available all the time anyway?
  22. It was waiting for me when I got home. So, so atmospheric! It just chucks you straight in. Ace!
  23. A real face-melter (or "Hayfever's a right b*st*rd!")

I think this is only effective if you do it while young - rather like breastfeeding passes on crucial antibodies etc in the first few weeks of life.
