Some footage of Expert Mode: http://www.left4dead411.com/left-4-dead-nov5-preview-3

By jiminy, by jingo and by crikey, here's a fairly lengthy preview from Rock, Paper, Shotgun. I think I'm going to explode with excitement! Winner! More on Valve's matchmaking system.

Watched the first three episodes of 'Fringe' yesterday. the first one drags on a bit, and the characters grate for a while...but in the last 1/4 hour it opened up all sorts of avenues and got really exciting. You feel like you can't trust anyone... It's done by JJ Abrams, so as I thought 'Lost' sucked, I thought I wouldn't like it, but it's good fun - i.e. things actually happen.
-
Has it basically been done top-down, so the sackgirl is running about with an R-Type ship for a hat?
-
You may have got the wrong setting then - in your router, you can have different types of WPA: WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK, WPA-TKIP etc. Make sure it matches when you choose the type pf WPA on the PS3. Sorry if you've done all that already :/
-
Nach - Check your key dude! Although the PS3 lets you enter any character in the WPA code field, it doesn't appear to work with any of the dollar characters etc. It drove me nuts for ages. Try just using letters and numbers. It will work then. Just make the key longer to make up for not using characters.

I wonder if there is an element of that in why I get bored of some games quickly - Far Cry 2 in about 20 minutes, for example. I watched a mate playing the demo of COD5 and couldn't even be arsed to have a go! (Although to be fair I did play COD2 and COD4 a *lot*

Bit OT, but the beard comment reminds of the old 'Santa is a sytem admin'

I think the other survivors will be AI, and the AI director that runs the zombies scales the difficulty depending on how well you're playing.
-
Didn't have as much longevity as the previous Burnout for me.

It's going to be the fucking dog's. I'll definitely be getting one, maybe two servers for this. Once it's out proper, if enough of us have it, will set up a passworded night of zombie killing action if people want! Here's a link for the demo FAQ https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7659-EUPL-8723

So wait.... GH2 doesn't have lag on the notes? I'm getting it. GH3 was the first one I played, and it's the one thing that frustrated me a little.

Mine's still going from Nov '06. Until just now, when I've cursed it.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. I've been down on many new games for ages, not really finding anything to hold my interest at all - but this looks fun. Unfortunately, my bandwidth limit has been hit, so I have to wait until tomorrow

http://forums.joerogan.net/showthread.php?t=74612 Rather good. You can get T-shirts and everything already.

...and to be fair to them, they've really nailed the voice control. It is perfect. The game is designed rather like World in Conflict, in that you start with a finite set of forces and can call in others over time. Each call-in costs 4 'Command Points' given to you in a bar which builds up over time and also I presume for successful interdiction of the enemy. It is a welcome mechanic in that one is no longer required to build bases, so there is no 'wave attack' like in...well most RTS games...but it suffers from the same problem that WiC did - lack of depth. Although there has been thought put into making this unit good for killing that one, but bad against another, it is pretty much a paper-scissors-stone game at heart, and a fairly simplistic one at that. It is nowhere near as much fun or deep as Company of Heroes, (apologies for banging on about this game all the time, but it really is one of my favourite games, RTS or no, ever) and as an RTS game every new game like that has to be compared to it.

Arrrgh. Chris Moyles.

That the entireity of the EVE Online universe is seeded from the number 42.
-
Hmm. It seems that there are lots of people whinging about SecuROM as well for this title. Sorry for bringing that old chestnut up.
-
Agreed. My suspicions were first aroused when I heard that when it all started she went straight to talk to Max Clifford.
-
Oh christ, don't get me started on that. It's fucking pathetic.
-
I guess time moves on - what was once a praiseworthy feature becomes de-rigeur. Having said that, I do see your point, and that if something is done well, no matter how old, it maybe should be noted - if only to distinguish it from the great load of cack-handed efforts of what might be charitably be called games out there.

Really? Mine's a turtle. No great loss I guess.
