I know that feeling! A couple of things: The weapons you select initially are down to the race you are - different races get different bonuses on their ships. For example, Minmatar craft get bonuses on AutoCannons, Caldari seem to have bonuses based around the railgun (and that's all I know as I'm still very new myself). Download and install EVEMon. Good resource links: http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=EVE_Resources Ship loadout helper (you can grab these directly from EVEMon, and it will also tell you what skills you need) http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/ship_loadout_browse.php I've mainly concerned myself with combat, but you can mine, trade, make things, reserach, spy, and in combat you can specialise in Damage, support, scouting etc etc. That's prolly barely half of it. Did I mention it was massive? The best thing about it's intimidating nature, is if you can get past that, it keeps the dicks out largely, precisely because of that. Oh yeh, here's an image that always makes me laugh:

Tonsko, currently based in Curse. I'll add you to my address book tonight if you tell me your nickname. It's an awesome game, and although I've only been at it about two months, I've upped sticks and moved to 0.0 space. It's a lot more interesting (and expensive. I've lost a few ships now, and although they're only cruisers, it can still hurt your pocket.) If you decide to stay, I'll send you some money to get started. It's a MASSIVE game. Also, 3 basic rules: 1)Keep your clone upgraded. 2)Keep your clone upgraded. 3)Focus on learning skills first, sprinkle in other stuff so you can use new kit to stop getting bored. 4)Keep your clone upgraded.

PS3/PC for me too. I would have sold the 360 by now if it was actually worth anything. Lately my entire gaming time is taken up with EVE Online and WipEoutHD and occasionally Dead Space.

There was a guy with a BirdmanGTi suit when I was skydiving. It looked pretty ace. Hellish hard to walk though, and he did look like a bit of a fool on the ground. Nothing as balls out as those guys though ^^. Great video.

Yep, they are tops. I saw a couple - and thanks for reminding me. The episodes are available from all good newsgroups.

Loving 'The Wire', and I agree the series 2 music is far far better than the series 1 music. Also, 'Sons of Anarchy', TV Series.

I think we're in danger of over analysing a pop song!

There is a way to get WipEoutHD pics taken with the in-game camera, and they get put in the photo folder on the XMB. Whether this is done differently with LBG I'm afraid I can't tell you.

In the Neal Stephenson book I'm reading at the moment (Quicksilver), the name is changed from New Amsterdam to New York to flatter the then Duke of York. Whether there's a grain of truth in that I'm not sure - it essentially being fiction, but based around history.

Bah, I killed it. Ephedrinally, a village of a lost civilisation was discovered recently http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1091550/Ancient-city-discovered-deep-Amazonian-rainforest-linked-legendary-white-skinned-Cloud-People-Peru.html Apologies about the Daily Mail link.

Is it true they bought it for $24 from the indigenous folk?

I think the most generally acceptable description I've read is that they act as kind of arteries or veins. Apparently.

I think I tend to agree with Dan in that it's an ironic song. Not really my cup of tea though.

If you believe in that type of thing, a lot of Christian places of worship were built on points where so-called ley-lines cross too.

They should maybe stop loving themselves so much.

That gravelly piss-take voice is ace!
