Johnny, do you run Vista with that?

From a recent specc'ing experience (it is a ball-ache - if you don't look at it for 18 months, you have to re-learn everything again), came up with the following setup: 4GB(4x1GB) Corsair QuadX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC2-8500, 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15 [Memory] 119.43 Thermalright HR-01 PLUS [Passive CPU Heatsink] 33.34 Antec P182 Performance One [Quiet case] 108.48 Asus P5Q-E [Passively cooled mobo] 100.84 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Quad Core CPU 240.97 Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB 199.99 I already have the PSU, HD and decent soundcard. I have gone for passive cooling as I generally don't overclock and I'm sick of my PC sounding like a hovercraft. Hope this helps, ask any questions. This machine should be able to cope with the upcoming Empire Total war at maximum pretty.

Idle Thumbs UK 2: Conversation Killer
Scrobbs replied to Marek's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Don't suppose anyone's seen the latest dramabomb to hit Eve? Goons persuaded a disgruntled BoB top level director to defect; he kicked all the corps out and dissolved the alliance. There has been fierce fighting in Delv for the suddenly sovereignty free systems for nearly 24 hours now. -
Valve locking the difficulty to normal on versus kind of killed it for me and my friends. I had two servers and everything.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
Scrobbs replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
Ray-gun techno is one of my fave sub-sub-classifications of it. I don't think it 'officially' existed, but it was a name we came up with to describe some particularly lasery-noise type of acid techno. Hooray for techno! -
A rather good TF2 video from Tuna...

Yes please, if you still have one.

That's the important bit.

So it wasn't until I watched Rocknrolla that I realised the actor who plays Stringer Bell is English. The actor who plays McNulty is English too - how many more tea-bags are secreted away in this series par excellance?
-
...and he appears in Preacher. 'Nuff said.

You've lost me then, because that is a pic of Starcraft 2. Have I missed the point entirely?
-
My copy arrived yesterday! Not had time to look at it yet, but initial impressions are that it's nicely presented and printed.
-
Is that pic of Starcraft for comparison?

Why Signor! When Rocknrolla came out, all I heard was people slagging it off. I saw it the other day and thought it was great fun. Being Human is starting on BBC3 last week - I saw the pilot, oooo, 18 months ago? It was pretty good. I thought it actually started this week, so missed last weeks, but I remember the pilot being good fun. [Edit]Although I've just read some of the comments on the BBC site, and it's not so glowing as the pilot. Maybe it's a non-recommendation. Ho hum. Move along...

Just registered this one. I suck at web programming, so if anyone wants to do anything with it... In the meantime, it is pointed to the podcast page.

To be fair, EVE requires less time than most, as you can level up while you're not playing, it doesn't require ceaseless grind.

This bloke and his missus are in the supermarket, and they come to the drinks aisle, where the man spots a 24 pack of beer for a tenner and puts it into the trolley. "Excuse me" says the wife. "What do you think you're doing?" "That's a great deal" says the husband. "24 cans for a tenner, can't go wrong with that." "Don't you realise there's a credit crunch on? We can't afford luxuries like that, put it back on the shelf", the wife snaps. The husband reluctantly puts the beer back and they continue on their trek round the supermarket. Upon reaching the beauty section, the wife spots a giant pack of face cream for twenty pounds, and immediately grabs it, placing it into the trolley. "Er, excuse me", says the husband. "What do you think you're doing? I thought you said that there was a credit crunch on, and we can't afford luxuries?" "This is different", explains the wife. "This is my face cream, it helps to make me look beautiful." The bloke says, "Well, that's what I need the beer for, and it's half the price."

If you're interested in experimenting Chris, there was a wee hack with CoH (that I found essential) that allowed you to zoom out as far as you wanted. I'll see if I can locate it.

Hey Six! I've recently started playing EVE myself... Where are you based/name? I'm in Catch, called Tonsko.

I have to do all the limited company bullshit as well. Yufster, I generally send a cheque with the return, but it might be different. VAT returns suck too. Every 3 bloody months.

Arg, I constantly put this off. I usually get charged interest on it because it's so tedious.
